  • "I came here for Brunch with my girlfriend and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I rarely give more tip than I have to, but I did this time because the waiter was so nice! The ambience was really nice for Brunch. The waiter gave us some Carrot Fritters to start with Vanilla Mascarpone. It was delicious! There was some hiccups however, as due to the construction next door, the fire alarm got set off. But the waiters were quick witted to use towels to "silence" the fire alarms and had at least two different waiters come and apologize for the noise. Oh and did I mention the receptionist was really nice when I came in. She took my jacket and smiled the whole time! After the Fritters I had the Steak and Eggs. It was really good."

  • "Two of us ordered the brussel sprout with pastrami hash. There were just a few brussel sprout leafs and the pastrami was like rubber. Our eggs still had some clear geltin on them. Were definately not cooked enough. They offered to order something else. My daughter did, I rejected offfer and just ordered some toast. Very disappointing. Had been there last Mother's Day for Brunch and it was great."

  • "The deco is unique with style. i like thelobster gnocchi best as it was light, full of flavor but not heavy at all. You can tell they put lot of effort preparing the dishes and making it artistic. Our server has good knowledge of the menu and is very friendly. Overall I would go back!"

  • "we went for lunch and let Chef prepare our meal. It was incredible the in house prepared caviar and Fois Gras appetizer was like nothing I had before! This fwas followed by the Bison short rib done to absolute perfection. The palate cleanser was so good I could of had a dessert portion and the dessert itself left us wanting more. Always a unforgettable journey for your taste buds when you get to enjoy Chef Alvarez's cooking!"

It was 200 dollars including wine tasting and I think that was very over-priced for the amount of wine and food we actually received. The quality of the food and wine were very good, but the price was way too much. Would go there again to try food off their regular menu"

  • "We (party of 7) had a great time at the restaurant. We were all served an "amuse-bouche" which got the night of to a wonderful start. I had the foie gras, and it was a completely different and interesting take on the dish, followed by the chef's creation, ostrich with an delectable sauce. There was a novel caviar and barnacle starter which my daughter quite liked, and the 2 fish dishes were done to perfection. Everyone loved their dishes, although the elk was not as tender as hoped. The portions were just the right size for us, in that we left the table feeling well fed but not stuffed. And the service was spot on. Will definitely come back to this "Secret Location"."

  • "The space is beautiful. The waiter was friendly and pleasant. But it was a special occasion for a member of our party. He got her order wrong; he forgot my order; the special guest requested something simple that probably should have been included in her meal and that simple thing took time to arrive. And then we were charged for it. I'd notified in advance this was a birthday and thought given that, the service could have been a bit prompter and more "special." I also think there should be wheelchair-accessible parking close by for patrons like the birthday person, who can hardly walk. Also the acoustics are terrible in the place; you can hear every word of the guests beside you and the music is loud. But a lovely space."

  • "I would like to start off by thanking our wonderful server Stefano, knowledgeable and so pleasant. Hostess at the door was attentive, took our coats and it was a great first expression of the restaurant. We were sat at the front table and comfortable loveseat. My view was out, to the corner of Water and Carrall street filled with lights which added even more to the vibe of the place. Decor is beautiful, from the front door all the way to the washrooms, reminds me of European lounges/restaurants. The menu was outstanding, I had scallops and the rest of my family were having sturgeon, which was very delicious. I will definitely be back, I'm interested to try their brunch menu. Thank you for a wonderful time."

  • "This restaurant is a brilliant shining gem. The only thing that concerned us was that there were not enough other diners enjoying the incredible food and service. This is really interesting dining: a well edited menu (with some things I hadn't seen for a while - like perfectly cooked ostrich) and amusing and knowledgeable servers. It may look too bright and empty from outside but go through those doors; you won't be disappointed. And the rain soaked rustic cobblestones and Gassy Jack look great from inside!"

But it was truly fantastic - my ostrich carpaccio with truffle and nitro-horseradish was incredible and the pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked. Everything looked stunning. Not for those who want giant portions, it is the perfect meal which is perfectly sized."

  • "Took some clients to the Tasting Room for brunch and had a lovely time! The decor was a bit too much white for my tastes but the large windows and casual style seating created a comfortable spot in Gastown. The brunch selections were good with something for everyone. We had some allergy concerns in our group but the servers were excellent and nothing was any challenge for them to accommodate. The service was very good and friendly and each person from our waiter thru to the hostess were knowledgeable and service focused. We enjoyed the Egg Special (3 egg omelet with mushrooms, grilled onions & red peppers), French Toast, Pulled Pork sandwich and none of us left a morsel. I'll definitely return in the future."

  • "We have followed Chef Jefferson Alvarez around the city for a few years. He is the most creative and adventurous chef we have met. The journey he takes you on is something you would never imagine. The creativity from the smallest of appetizers to the main course leaves your taste buds craving more! I would highly recommend you let Chef Alvarez create a meal plan and put the menu away! Virgine, Jackson and Allan are gracious hosts and make the whole experience unforgettable! This is definitely a Secret Location that needs to be uncovered!"

  • "Secret Location is different than anything else in Gastown, the bright, light, beautiful interior is amazing. We experienced some spectacular flavours - the amuse was delightful and our starters were interesting. The scallop dish was very good but the Heirloom Burrata fell flat in taste and texture. The pork dish was extremely good but the lobster risotto seemed dense and chewy. Desserts are the real standout here, creative and beautiful to look at, although may not be what you expect, so ask questions. The evening we were there, the restaurant was very quiet, uncomfortably so. (Just a side note, we were recorded as an Open Table no-show even though we gave the hostess our name.)"

This is a top spot for lunch or brunch, but the place really shines at night Ladies will love the expensive shop attached to the restaurant... It's full of unique clothing and vintage Chanel accessories ( alas it closes at around 7 pm but the restaurant stays open.)"
