A word from Sebastian's
Sebastian's is Portland's newest restaurant. We offer contemporary American cuisine. Two distinct rooms: Our pub with our copper top bar and casual feel with a special pub style menu to go with our main menu. We also have the Boothby room which is our intimate dining room. We offer outside dining on both sides as well. Our menu is creative and uses only the finest local ingredients. We offer a creative cocktail list with house infusion flair and offer an array of hand crafted microbrews. We do a 4 to 6 happy hour with drink specials as well as a late night menu thursday through saturday til 1am. We also do on- and off-premise catered events. Our interior of exposed brick and featured art of local artists gives a warm comfortable feel to our ambiance. Come enjoy our creative raw oyster selections, our lobster sweet potato stew, or our salmon BLT. We have something for everyone. Don't forget about our $5.00 mojito happy hours. Come enjoy the newest hot spot Portland has to offer.

Our first visit at Sebastian's left us with a bit mixed feelings. We were very happy with the service, and appreciated the valet parking. We liked the ambiance, simple, elegant, but cozy with its exposed red brick walls. The "mixed" had nothing to do with the quality of the food. I loved my Rabbit Risotto and my husband's Seared Scallops and Shrimps, served over salad, were tasty. But though we don't care for huge portions - with just two scallops and two small shrimps for this $24 entree he felt somewhat short changed.

My partner thought we would try something new. They've done a nice job with the updating. It was a little hard to know which door to use and while they have valet parking, the attendant was a little out to lunch. Food was ok with one exception. Service was fair at best. I sent the same dish back (hand cut fries) twice because they were cold and soggy. Our server didn't know the menu well and couldn't answer basic questions or answered questions incorrectly (half a roast chicken isnt the same as a chicken breast). He disappeared often. We asked for bread twice until it finally came very late.. The manager? took over the one computer, causing us to wait even longer for the check. With the plorethera of great choices, we won't be back.

The menu was diverse and unique. The time between courses seemed a bit long. Our waitress was very good and pleasant. The quality of the food was very good. We will go back and try the bar setting.

  • Delicious New Addition To Portland

We were surprised at how good the food was given the reasonable prices. The polenta frites are a must, and worth going for alone. The bread was great, and hot out of the oven. The wine list has a good selection with a wide range of prices. The entree list is not extensive but includes something for everyone, featuring seafood and rustic ingredients. The chicken was fabulous, and the pork and clams also excellent. We were too full for dessert, but what we saw go to other tables looked delicious. In a few more months the secret will be out and this place will be packed, best to get in while you can!
