Seastar Restaurant & Raw BarAlways wonderfulSeastar is always a wonderful experience. I had the Chilean seabass. It was well prepared and very tasty.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in the Seattle AreaSeastar remains the best restaurant in the Greater Seattle Area. My wife and I both had the ancho chili rubbed steelhead which is just out of this world. Our server was Megan who was just great: attentive, helpful, friendly. As we were leaving we saw Kelly who is back from maternity leave. Kelly is our all time favorite server, just a great gal. We are so glad she is back!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressedWe weren't impressed by the food portion, but after eating, it turned out to be perfect. (we are used to eating lots!)6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSure bet for land to seaConsistently great, well run on both sides of the lake!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNice but NoisyThis is a nice business casual restaurant that you can take your colleagues out to for special occasions. the noise level is high and at times it is hard to hear the soft spoken people. The food presentation and taste are great.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA pleasent surprise! This was some of the best seafood we've had lately. The chef does know his business.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSeastarWe are so glad we chose Seastar to dine at
On our 36th wedding anniversary. Our server
Alana Griffin was so attentive- but also knew when
To give us space while we were deep in conversation.
The food was amazing - my Mahi Mahi rivaled
The taste of the Mahi Mahi I had on Maui
In March - it had been caught in the waters off the
Restaurant that same morning. John Howie
Hits a home run with this restaurant.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent fare, family friendlyThank you for a wonderful evening with our children and grandchildren. The food was outstanding.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Seastar is one of my favoriteThe Seastar is one of my favorite restaurants in the Seattle area. Love the Ancho Chili Steelhead...wow. Always consistent...always good.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience for a first timer! My first experience here was great! Even though the dinner was with my boss, the environment was energetic! The food selection was GREAT, and the overall experience was wonderful! Their seafood was just amazing, and our server could not have been better. I will DEFINITELY be going back!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSeastar is a hidden gemI've eaten at Seastar three times. Each time I am blown away by the quality of the food.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWine listSeastar has an extensive wine list but is lacking in wines by the bottle priced below $60.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique twist on sea foodSea Star has a unique twist on seafood...different choices compared to other places in the area. Good presentation. Great flavor!! Atmosphere is nice/modern, but on the street.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh and beautifully servedThe freshest oysters, a world-class Dungeness crab and sweet corn bisque, incredibly tasty and beautifully prepared fresh halibut with spring-pea risotto, and creme brûlée with a perfect, crackling crust -- what more could one want? Oh yes, a well-chosen wine list. And, of course, Seastar in Bellevue has that as well. This is the place to go for a romantic birthday dinner, a chance to treat friends visiting from places without the fresh seafood we demand here n the Pacific Northwest, or to celebrate landing that new account, passing the bar exam or collecting your 1,000th "like" on Twitter. You won't be disappointed.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMany restaurants are highlyMany restaurants are highly rated but don't deliver. Seastar is the exception. Food and service lived up to the expectation. One of the best fish venues West of the Mississippi.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite placesOne of our favorite places to treat ourselves when we are in town. A little pricey on the special of the night and we did have to send the salmon back to cook a little more. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The menu covers a broad range of meats and seafood. The molten lava cake is to die for and worth the calories We will certainly come back to the restaurant next time we are in the area.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AM5 Star one of best meals ever had. What a surprise! One of the best dinners I've had since living in Seattle OFF the charts. I knew we're in for great night when the bread came out hot & soft like fresh out of the oven. The seafood was excellent (sushi), steaks aged and tender, dessert was outstanding I had some kind of banana split with chopped pineapples, the bananas were crusted in coconuts and came in tall metal martini looking bowl. Without question will be back made my decision for wife's birthday look like a genius.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMnever refilled iced teaI frequently recommend Seastar for business dinners, particularly when the guests are from out of town. This was one such dinner. We began our evening in the bar, I ordered an iced tea, which I carried to the table with me. Our food was excellent, as was the food service, but never once during the meal, was my iced tea refilled. My dining companions were not asked whether they wanted additional beers. One of them did mange to order one at his initiation. It was very odd. Somehow the beverage order from the bar, never resisted on the radar of our server.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time since going onSecond time since going on our 10-year anniversary - always good!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBest business lunch in Bellevue.Best business lunch in Bellevue. I've yet to take someone to Seastar and have them not find several things on the menu that appeal. The service is good, not intrusive, and one can lunch elegantly in an hour or so.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food!We came to celebrate my daughter who received a school award, as well as to celebrate Mother's Day. We were seated immediately for our 4:45pm reservation, and everyone was very friendly and courteous. The food was delicious! Seafood lovers should definitely order the Seastar Tower, either to share or as a dinner entree. Even with several patrons there and background music playing, the restaurant was never too loud where my family could not hear each other with normal conversation voices. We also appreciated the validated parking.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavor danceOur waiter had an outstanding repoire with our four year old son. It made the experience extremely pleasant for him, which as any parent will attest to...it makes it a pleasant experience for us.
The CA roll had a clean fresh taste, but not noteworthy. The Bisque was rich and tangy. It would have been better serviced as a shot, for it was too rich on the palette to be eaten entirely, even from the little 4oz bowl size. We tried both the Salmon dishes and found them cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning to lingering on the tongue without over powering the delicate flavor of the salmon. The vegetable accompanying the salmon a tad oily, but flavorful with a bit of a snap.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWell organized, efficientWell organized, efficient and courteous service, with excellent food (quality & presentation).5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMService was particularly slowIt was the great food we always have at Seastar, but service was very slow; first time I experience it.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe world's best Dungeness Crab BisFor all you Dungeness crab lovers -- get to Seastar today and order the Dungeness crab and corn bisque. Yes, it has a bit of cream. But it's without a doubt the best soup I've ever had, and the few extra calories are more than worth it. Incredibly sweet and delicious.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my favorite restaurantThis is my favorite restaurant in Bellevue to host a business lunch. Consistent service, nice menu options and good food quality. I never disappoint my guests when they are treated at SeaStar.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery helpful wait staff, goodVery helpful wait staff, good food. Only complaint is that the chairs are slightly too high for me (I'm 5'3") so only my toes touch the ground.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Seastar for a birthdayWent to Seastar for a birthday dinner. Our dinners were excellent. Our cocktails were the best we have had in a long time. This is our new favorite place to dine for special occasions.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways My First ChoiceSeastar never lets me down. A great place to take out of town guests as well as have an impressive business lunch where you're never rushed. Great food, beautifully plated. Excellent service, close by but not intrusive. As far as I'm concerned, John Howies best!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid for business tooGreat service, ambiance and presentation. Helped solidify a business deal too!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal with professionalExcellent meal with professional service. Lacks ambiance but not so much that it detracts from the dining experience.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went there for SeattleWe went there for Seattle restaurant week had a great time thanks4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experience on everyExcellent experience on every level, a bit pricy but worth it.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMStellar food, mediocre ambienceHad a wonderful meal - everything was delicious and well-prepared; despite the dining room being large and full there was no noticeable noise to take away from our conversation. The only downside was that the interior design of the restaurant, all the way down to the napkin rings, made me feel like I was in a chain hotel instead of a nice restaurant that specializes in high-quality seafood and fresh, seasonal ingredients.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMhave been here a number ofhave been here a number of times. food definitely not as good this trip. Some items very good, one fish item taken off the bill and returned.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for foodies!Loved everything we had during Seattle Restaurant Week. An excellent offering for our first time at this establishment. We'll definitely be back again.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSeastar ROCKS! We love goingSeastar ROCKS! We love going during Seattle Restaurant week since it allows us to try out some of the restaurant's dishes, sample them and then come at a later date to enjoy with others. Keep up the great work!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for the SeattleWe went here for the Seattle Restaurant Week 3 course deal and what a deal. They offered a great variety of courses to choose from and everything was terrific. The service was incredible and we will definitely be going back. Would easily recommend this restaurant to anyone. Great for groups too!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMTop notch food and service.Top notch food and service. The red sauce for the oysters was noteworthy.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMTalapia was out of this world,Talapia was out of this world, loved the breads as well.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always have good experienceWe always have good experience at Seastar Restaurant. It is a high end and expensive restaurant, so we normally only go there no more than twice a year.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe seafood from the Raw BarThe seafood from the Raw Bar is wonderful. I'd make a whole meal out of it, but then I'd miss out on the great entrees.
I didn't specify a special occasion on the reservation, but the waitress asked. When I said that we were celebrating a birthday, they gave us a free desert (our choice) with a candle. . . and No Extra fanfare.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThoughtful service by ourThoughtful service by our waitress, although the number of people who kept serving us water and coffee was a bit intrusive.
Food was fabulous, portions wonderful.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the new menu!Love the new menu. The mahi mahi was great and so was the glass of win4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI had my birthday dinner thereI had my birthday dinner there with two close friends and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The raw bar selections were delicious and refreshing! The dinner entrees were amazing! I had a WONDERFUL time4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Everything wasGreat food. Everything was exquisite. From the wine to the appetizer, the salad, the entree and the dessert.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a fabulous date nightIt was a fabulous date night for my husband and I !3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only problem i saw isThe only problem i saw is when the waiters or managers go around
and "dust off" the seats of the chairs by taking a napkin and hitting
the chair seats thus causing dust to arise into the air.
I know they are probably knoching off ant small crumbs that might be on the
seats but surely there is a better way to do it thne by causing a "dust storm".3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Grilled Sea Scollop entree'The Grilled Sea Scollop entree' would have been better if the plate had included a savory element. With all of the items being sweet they muted the taste of the scallops.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food... usuallyThe menu has a great selection of fresh fish - both raw and cooked. The ahi tuna was very good, but the rice cake served with it was lacking flavor.3/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
