We celebrated a "big" birthday with family and friends. It was a Tuesday night and seasons was busy with groups as well as couples and people of all ages. Their seasonally inspired menu offered butternut squash soup- delish. Two if our party had duck which was perfectly prepared. The service was spot on- friendly and efficient. Really nice evening.

We have been to Seasons many times when we attend concerts at Mondavi Center. This time, a Tuesday at 5:30, it was so noisy we couldn't have a conversation. Food was way below the usual standard. Prices are too high. Wine was $9 a glass for a skimpy serving.

We were looking forward to a special birthday brunch celebration and told the restaurant when we made our reservation. Our server never said "Happy Birthday" even though our guest opened her gifts at the table. Nothing special was done for her at all. In fact, she wanted the frittata for her brunch choice but was told they were sold out. This was at 12:30! Brunch is from 11 - 2! We asked if they could make a simple scrambled eggs and bacon plate for her instead, but were told, "if it is not on the menu, we can't make it." The food we ordered was good, but portions very small for the price. Ambience was okay, but not the "fancy" Davis restaurant we were led to believe it was. We will make another choice next time visiting Davis.

The several times that we have had dinner at Seasons - Davis have been very good. The food is well prepared and the service is very good. We can afford this only for special occasions, but the food is totally worth it. There are different specials every time and it's often a tough choice. The food is always even better than what we expect from the description. Whether it's duck breast or house-made potato chips, it leaves us wondering how they achieved the perfect texture and made it so flavorful. They also can handle special requests such as dairy-free or substitutions. The service is excellent but we'd go here just for the food.

Seasons is one of our favorite restaurants - the farm-to-table fare is always fresh and beautifully prepared; service is excellent in a relaxed atmosphere; the wine list is very good with many local wines - and Davis is just a fun, upbeat place to be. We live in Nevada City and always try to find an opportunity to dine at Seasons when we are down in that area.

Have eaten here many times. Sometimes the food is great, but not tonight. Pickled Beet salad with a gorgonzola dressing started it off. The dressing tasted like thin mayonnaise with a crumble or two of gorgonzola. The beets & apples in this salad had almost no flavor. My date had the butternut squash-arugula pizza. Sounded wonderful...taste was not bad, just wasn't much taste at all. I had the duck. This was the best part of the dinner. Cooked well. The balsamic reduction was nice, light and added a little flavor. Dessert was a vanilla bean crème brulee. No vanilla taste. Texture was good but the caramelized top was burnt in spots. Overall, tonight's food was sub-par. Server was nice and service was attentive.

It was clear that they do not read the special request portion of the open table reservation. I made note that it was our wedding anniversary and it was not mentioned on and being seated between a large empty booth and a full, loud table of four at a small table for two drove that point home. Giving the benefit of the doubt we figured the larger booth was for a bigger party until the seated another party of two in the large booth. To top it off the young man sitting next to my pregnant wife coughed on her (away from his party of course) about 10 times. We chose this place for a special occasion based on it's reputation. I will do my best to alert others of the poor service we received.

Our party of 3 had crab cake sliders/duck breast/creme brulee clam chowder/pork chop/creme brulee, lobster deviled eggs/Scottish salmon/bread pudding. All were very good, except for the Swiss chard (with the pork). The sliders were a bit bland. Service did not re-fill our wine glasses, which I would expect. Portions very generous. Total $170.

We have been dining at Seasons for 5+yrs and have always had great food and service. This last time was really disappointing. Seasons is trying to be too upscale for Davis. Their menu is quite limited and the prices are ridiculous for what you are served. Seasons used to serve bread with balsamic but have changed to breadsticks. They allow you 1 breadstick with your salad or soup. Our entree's were all good. I ordered dessert which was very good. One of our party was having a birthday and we told our server. We were all floored when the server brought my dessert out with a candle on it for the birthday person. I have never seen a restaurant piggyback a birthday dessert on someone else's. I guess Seasons is trying to save money.

We went for dinner and overall had a very good experience. We arrived a few minutes late for our 6:45 reservation. We were seated immediately, however, we asked for a different table away from the air conditioning. I had the grilled peach & bleu cheese appetizer. It was delicious. The pork chop entree was expertly prepared, although the mushroom risotto was dry. The dessert sampler, had some hits & misses. The chocolate cake was dry & pretty tasteless, the berry cobbler was great.

So rare today--a restaurant with the flexibility to accommodate what started as a reservation for two to a reservation for five and did it without a "hitch". Seasons' menu offerings, the standard and the special, had something for the vegetarian, the meat lover, the "seafood/fish only" and the rest of us. Service was unobtrusive but on the mark as well. A delightful evening.

We have been here for dinner twice. Very nice place overall. Excellent food, well thought out wine list featuring local and UCD alumni wineries. Although I feel they could keep the reds a little cooler, room temperature should be in the mid 60's not the typical room temperature of mid 70's but I am quibbling here. Service is great overall, but this last time we did ask several people to bring us a place setting for one of group that didn't have one. After 4 requests, we had to take one from the adjacent table. Otherwise, an excellent experience.

We often stop at Seasons on our way home from San Francisco (to the Sierra Foothills) to dine. We love the relaxed atmosphere, the fresh, beautifully prepared dishes, and the good wine list - plus in August, all the bottles of wine are half off, so you can try that $95 bottle without a guilt pang. My husband had a gorgeous strawberries and cream soup that was light and refreshing, and we both had salmon, perfectly cooked, sitting on a wonderful salad of beets and other fresh things. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly--it's fine dining in a casual atmosphere and always enjoyable. Also there's a full bar, if that's of interest, with a notable selection of whiskeys and scotchs for after-dinner pleasure.

I had the skewers of Tiger prawns and pasta. It also had cubes of ham and mushrooms in a runny, acidic, white wine sauce. It was difficult to eat and the dish lacked character and no vegetables accompanied my dish. Dish needs a makeover or remove it from menu. Coffee shop ambience with fine dining prices. I know food and this was an experience worth mentioning because it is one that either the chef modifies and makes it palatable or removes it from the menu.

Very reliable place for business dinners. Took visitors from Thailand. They seemed to enjoy it. A bit noisy. Service is prompt. Nice wines. I have had the duck or lamb before and really liked them. Tried the chicken this time. Not bad, but I was hoping for a real quarter of chicken not just the breast, but I suppose that is matter of taste.

We have been quite a few times, with the same conclusion - over priced for the food. We go on Thursday for the half price wine. So with a $25 Pinot, plus a shared salad, risotto for me and turkey meat balls for my wife, the bill was $90. It did not pass my "home" test i.e. I could make it at home myself easily. So not good value. The more serious main courses are at the $30 to $35 level, definitely not justified.

The Seasons Restaurant offers some very upscale food at very moderate prices in a college town noted primarily for fast food and chain restaurants. There are daily specials along with a good array of their standard menu. The specials include a separate meat and a fish selection. Standards include a pasta, a Kobe Beef Hamburger, great salads and soups, especially their corn soup. The servers are very attentive to detail. Their bread is good, but their breadsticks are even better!! Reservations are highly suggested as this place fills up fast!

Everything was wonderful, though we missed the amazing Bruschetta from the precious specials. The only downside was the large, loud group on the patio. They pretty much spoiled the meal for everyone else on the patio. It interfered with our meal even after we moved away from them. Seasons has a back room. Perhaps they should insist on large groups using it, rather spoil the dinner for every other customer dining on the patio.
