  • "great place for a special dinner. food prep and presentation excellent. we had dinner prior to an evening performance at Flat Rock Playhouse and thought we had plenty of time. wait staff was good, but obviously understaffed for the "before the play crowd". recommended, but go early, i.e. 2.5 hours before show time."

  • "We went for my wife's 76th birthday and it was an excellent choice for a special occasion. The food was excellent, the service attentive while not being intrusive and the place itself warm and welcoming. While a little bit pricy compared to other restaurants around, one certainly gets a return on the "investment"" found at few establishments here or in other areas. We will go back soon."

  • "This is the perfect place to enjoy lunch before a matinee at Flat Rock Playhouse. Be sure you have a reservation as it was at capacity at the11:30 seating, which is the perfect time to have a relaxing meal before the play. Five minutes away from the Playhouse. Extra time before lunch can be spent walking around the grounds of the beautiful Highland Lake Inn."

  • "Our first trip to Season's will likely not be our last. We planned to be in the area to attend My Fair Lady, at the FlatRock Playhouse (great place to see a play!!!) so tried Season's. It was very elegant, but not stuffy. Food on the buffet was all superb, but my family's favorites were the Creme' Brulee French toast and Dulce de Leche cheesecake. YUM!"

  • "Food was cold, service was far from fine dining, noise level off the chart...not a good evening as we had hoped for"

  • "We had dinner after the theater at Flat Rock Playhouse. Everything was wonderful and our out-of-town guests enjoyed it. The food was very good. The peach cobbler needed some fine-tuning was my only negative. More peaches, less cake. I would have liked to have heard the live music but didn't realize there was a musician there until we were leaving. Overall, we've enjoyed ourselves every time we've come to Seasons from Spartanburg. Worth the trip! Our waitress was excellent! Lovely grounds also."

  • "Menu items at Seasons sounded great, especially the side items. I was intrigued by okra fries and chose scallops, rather than halibut, just to try them. When the server sat my plate down, I saw only a bed of rice pilaf and was just about to tell her they had forgotten the okra fries when I spotted four paper-thin curls in the shape of okra atop the scallops like a garnish. In total they did not equal half an okra pod and I felt they should not have been presented as a side. Though I was disappointed with the sides, the scallops were great. I will recommend Seasons based on past experience and the fact that each of the three friends dining with me ordered different entrees and thought they were wonderful."

  • "The food was excellent, but all three of us felt the portions were small. This may be to nudge people buying additional sides, which we did order one. The service was a bit slow, and we had to ask for butter and additional bread and usually these are initiated by the server . We also experienced considerable wait time to be served our wine. We had to get a candle ourselves from a different table. While we were greeted upon arrival, we were not spoken to as we left. While I could say this was due to being busy, there were unfilled tables, and it seemed to be more about being short staffed. Again, the food was very good. We tipped 20%."

  • "Marvelous experience! My wife and I dined at Seasons for the first time this week. Both meals were exquisite, elegantly presented, and the service from Shannon was world class. Prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality and presentation. We highly recommend it."

  • "Season's restaurant is one of the best places in our area to dine and have superb choices from a great menu of local and regional meats, fish and vegetables. They always treat you with warm welcome and constant attention!"

We didn't even knos we would have a buffet and were so happy- Salad was great- 2 soups , and salmon, chicken , and beef plus breakfast choices- eggs, grits, bacon and french toast...go here if you are nearby!"

  • "My wife and I have dined at the Season's at least a half a dozen times. The dining experience never disappoints - whether it is brunch, lunch or dinner. We have a second home in NC (10 minutes from the restaurant) & live up in NJ (outside of Philly) most of the time. Season's is the best restaurant in which I have ever dined (and that includes several trips to Europe). The attention to detail, use of local ingredients and willingness to compose dishes with unusual flavor combinations always results in an exciting dining experience. The internal and external ambiance is relaxed and attractive (you're in the middle of the woods after all!). The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without any hint of pretense."

  • "We've eaten here several times and have always have excellent food and service. This time the service was a little off, the server a little frazzled. I would try to go after 7:30 on nights that Flat Rock Playhouse is performing because there is a big rush of people trying to eat and get there."

  • "I invited several women to be my guests at Season's as a "Thank You" for helping me on a club project. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and delicious choices from the wonderful new menu. I never though of suggesting anywhere else!...Remy"

  • "Good food, great ambience and a very attentive waiter. I had pork tenderloin and my wife had a spinach ravioli. She really liked hers, but it wasn't anything like she expected, from reading the menu. My pork was very good and had a great sauce with it. The grilled asparagus was outstanding. Alas, no treat for the birthday girl."

  • "We dined at Season's for my Mom's birthday. It is a quaint place amongst beautiful gardens. The food and presentation were outstanding. My husband had an issue with the steak he ordered and the staff went above and beyond to satisfy us. Our waiter was so friendly and accommodating. Even the coffee was delicious, which I never find to be the case in a restaurant. The waiter said the grind the beans in house. And the desserts! OMG! By far the best chocolate mousse I've ever had. I highly recommend Season's and will definitely return."

  • "My wife and I enjoy having special dinners at Highland Lake Inn because even though you are inside the glass porch make you feel like you are outside. The staff is great they are very attentive to your needs which make it very special. We also enjoy the ride to the Inn again like going camping where someone else fixes dinner."

  • "The atmosphere is very pretty inside as well as outside. The service was very good and the meal was delicious. We will definitely go back again."

  • "The room was very uninviting. I would recommend only sitting on the front porch. The ambience was not good. The food was OK. Our waiter was very good, but he was waiting on the kitchen. It took one hour to be served the meal. I would probably not return."

  • "We travelled to Flat Rock for a day at the Sandberg House but chose the wrong day -- a holiday with an all day program --it was so crowded we decided not to walk and fight the crowds. I had made an on-line reservation for lunch at Season's for later in the afternoon. We stopped at the bar for a drink and they were more than accommodating about changing our reservation time. From the first greeting to the last good bye, there was absolutely nothing that wasn't perfect. The food was superb, the wine list was astonishing, the service was unobtrusive (my highest compliment), the atmosphere was delightful. We will make the trek (about an hour and a half) again and again."

  • "The food was good. That is the burgers and french fries and trout, while not outstanding, were good. The dining room is very pleasant with attractive views. Unfortunately, the service is unnecessarily slow. In addition, our server was not very competent."

  • "Memorable evening for a memorable occasion. Everyone welcoming, pleasant, and attentive. Chris was superb! Food was excellent, prepared as requested. I left the restaurant with half my meal in a box, my husband left slightly hungry...Nicest upscale dining experience in the area. Will certainly plan a return visit."

  • "The restaurant is located adjacent to Highland Lake Inn office and in the middle of some lovely gardens. The lake is just across the street. The service was notable, being efficient and delivered by an informed waitress. The food was tasty and with artistic presentation. The wine list was better than average; prices for items on the menu were a bit high and corkage was 100% over retail according to my i-phone wine evaluation software. Overall it was a good meal in a pleasant setting with very good service."

  • "Went for brunch on Mother's Day. We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation but were seated right away. Very nice atmosphere and views. Service was excellent. Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly. Food was very good, especially the salads, smoked salmon and cheeses. The main courses were very good but possibly a little more variety would have been nice. The pork and chicken were very similar and just a bit dry. We will definitely dine here again."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "...it was just OK. This is the second time we have dined at Season's for Mother's Day. This year I noticed that the restaurant was not as busy and the buffet not as good as the previous year- chicken tortilla soup was not very taste, the pork and chicken were dry, poor selection of vegetables. Pluses, fresh salad bar and great cheese station (but how hard is it to get these two right?) The deserts were the highlight- especially the cheese cake. I though the buffet was way over priced for what we got..."

  • "We had a wonderful time. It was a first time for all of us. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, and were attended to by a very sweet and professional wait staff. When my dinner arrived (it was the "Chef's Special" and our waitress encouraged me to order it), I found the fish very overcooked and not tasty at all. I was so sad I hadn't followed my original instinct and gotten the scallops. Our waitress came over and asked how everything was.. she saw the disappointment in my face. She immediately said, "Oh, let me take that, and get you something else!" I ordered the scallops... they came out very quickly, and they were fantastic!! Great Restaurant!"

  • "Always great food and service. Only one disappointment ever. On a prior visit, my husband had trout that had many bones. Creme Brulee is always a winner."

  • "We had a delightful one and dinner was wonderful. I had the duck and my spouse had the flounder. Would highly recommend both "

  • "While most restaurants pay little attention to sides and garnishes, Season's makes them the star. I really could make a meal on just the accompaniments. I often have only vegetables. You will not find an insipid vegetable medley here but dishes like heirloom roasted beets, a crispy grits cake and the best kale I have ever had. Each entrée comes with a well thought out side, all different. "

  • "We spent the day in Asheville and stopped here on our way back to Greenville, SC. Food was great, service was great too. They said it was a new menu. We ask had fish dishes and each one was amazing. Would recommend! "

  • "We were there for Easter Brunch. Everything was wonderful but the menu and food. The breakfast, salad and fruite items were excellent. The main food and deserts were not. Not tasty and the beef looked very poor quality. Did not eat the peas as they had meat. Did not like the potatoes. More 'southern' selections would be desireable. We have been there for the past several years for both Easter and Thanksgiving but if the menu doesn't change, we won't be back. I would like to see a shrimp/seafood bar and selections like mac and cheese. Deserts should not be dry and in the past there have been more seletions. It seems you have a certain chef with a definite style and I wish you the best. Thanks for the opportunity to provide input."

  • "All of the food at the brunch was remarkable. It's hard to believe that lowly peas, carrots and potatoes could all become such symphonies for the palate. Salads were unusual and exceptional too. "
