Highland Lake Inn is tucked away behind a small dam at the entrance to historic Flat Rock. Seasons, the restaurant, has views from every table if you dine during daylight hours. The waitstaff are friendly and professional. The menu and beverage list is not too extensive but not limited either. Take time to wander through the beautiful gardens after you dine. Good parking area and the building is handicapped accessible. My friend and I dined at Seasons on October 17, prior to visiting the Sandburg Home. I had requested a table with a view, not realizing that every table had a view. Our server, Angie L, was delightful and attentive. Oh, yes...our food: a Reuben & the Portabella...very good!

My companion and I loved our dinner there. It was quiet for the most part and intimate. The service was good. Bread was served hot with a wonderful pear bisque. The food was beautifully plated and tasted amazing. A definite find if you're looking for local and organic options. We were very pleased.

It was a beautiful day to have brunch after church. Made reservations on Season's website with special accommodations. We arrived and were seated at a round table with plenty of room. Service was outstanding. The menu had several choices to indulge in. The buffet was delightfully displayed. Lastly, the food was outstanding.

As people who frequently dine in upscale restaurants, I feel confident in saying that we know what great food is---and Seasons definately did NOT deliver. What sounded delicious on the menu actually was very mundane when presented at the table. Prices are high ($11 for appetizer, $31 for entree) for what was a very ordinary meal. Decor is lost somewhere between the late 70's---early 80's. This restaurant came highly recomended by Tripadvisor readers, but I can't image why. We won't be going back----ever.

  • Birthday dinner: mixed reviews

I had booked reservations ahead of time noting both that the evening was for my husband's birthday and that he was allergic to onions. Upon being greeted by the server she acknowledged both pieces of information. However, when she brought the bread---onion focaccia---she placed the basket in front of me, saying, "this is for you only." We both thought that was odd and wondered why a plain roll had not been offered to my husband. My main entree, the grilled halibut was lovely. My husband asked for medium well steak, but it was unfortunately akin to leather. The ambience was lovely. Overall, the evening was mixed.

We were vacationing and not sure if we'd be back to our cottage in time for dinner, so we made the reservation late. The location was beautiful, very romantic. The hostess was very personable, but professional and very helpful giving us some other options for dining in the area. Our server was very friendly and attentive and suggested some menu options that were spot on. The presentation was exceptional. Great wine and dessert to die for. A memorable anniversary.

This was our second visit to the Seasons and we were not disappointed. The meals were a delight to the palate and senses as they were full of flavor and texture. The pink snapper was gently seared to perfection leaving a flaky flavor filled snapper fillet. The scallops melted in your mouth like butter as you savored the herbs and sauce that accompanied the dish. The rosemary and roasted tomato bread was outstandingly flavorful but so very light. Our server Jimi S was attentive, helpful, knowledgeable but not intrusive in assisting us experience the best of the menu. Definitely a place to visit over and over for fine dinning.

5 sob's (single old broads) saw a play at Flatrock then came for dinner at 5 o'clock. Happy they open early because even though we are "party girls" we have to be home by 8:30. Only reason for not 5 stars on food was because the trout was overcooked and dry. We have been here before with no problems. We will be back again, maybe not order trout.

This was our first time at Season's at Highland Lake Inn. We had visited the area to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant sits in a beautiful setting and although I would not call the view scenic, it is certainly serene, and the overall ambience is very nice. Overall service was highly attentative. The menu was varied with lots of creative dishes. I had the pan-fried grouper while my wife enjoyed the steak tenderloin with a red-wine demi glaze. Both were delightful. Further, the chef was very accommodating of our low carb diet we were trying to stidk to, despite the special occasion. Overall, a wonderful experience.
