  • "Ambiance is great, service was very good and food was far superior to most places in cape may. The fish dish I had was a bit too salty but the 5 other diners all enjoyed their dishes. Definitely one of the better restaurants in cape may and great for an adult night out or a night out with older children."

  • "We had a wonderful dining experience! The staff was friendly and professional. The food was incredible. The 'super' moon over the ocean added to an already perfect view to dine by."

  • "Outstanding food. Great chef, nice ambiance. Pricey but was worth it"

  • "Wonderful experience. From the first bite to the last, this was one of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had at a Cape May eatery. I had the scallops and my wife had halibut. For dessert we had mocha cheese cake and my wife had the strawberries and cream napoleon. We asked to sit outside to enjoy the ocean view. Great ambience. Noise level isn't too loud. A jazz band played. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that my wife ordered coffee with dessert, but never received it. The waiter explained that the coffee was served with a french press and they didn't have enough because everyone ordered dessert at the same time. Seriously? They don't have enough french press to accommodate a restaurant full of people."

  • "The menu read very well, which is why it was a top contender when deciding where to go for date night. Nothing we ordered was terrible, but nothing was great either. Everything was underseasoned and not well executed. For the price point, we left extremely dissatisfied. We do not mind spending $30+ for entrees, when they warrant that price."

  • "We tried the 5 course tasting. Everything was very good. The Veev cocktail was delicious. A few of the chefs selections were excellent. The crab cakes were delicious but not as hot as I would have liked. The chocolate chili desert was very good. A wine pairing would have been a nice addition. We have been here a few times and this time was very enjoyable."

  • "There's nothing more to say: this chef is truly outstanding. We were all in heaven with each of our dishes."

  • "This was the most disappointing experience we had this summer. It was rated highly so we looked forward to it. The best parts were the attentiveness of the waitstaff and Mango Mojito. The clams on the half shell were the size of my pinky joint. The ribs were over spiced. The noise level was very high. There were no relatively quiet areas to choose from. In the same room as diners who were in small groups sat a table with a party of 30. If the room were more noise -proofed it might have been OK but all in all lots of improvement needed."

  • "No flexible with the menu for kids. Very pricey even for cape may. Plenty of better choices in the area. Hotel staff don't even recommend it."

  • "Great food in an awesome location! They even had an appealing kids menu!"

  • "My wife and I went this past Wednesday night while in cape may for our yearly visit. We loved the idea of the window seats having door that opened up for the outdoor feel, unfortunately it was a windy evening but that did not take away from our experience. We waited a bit for a window seat, so we sat at the bar and had a glass of wine. The bar tender was a very friendly gentlemen that worked there part time. The waitress we had was on her first night alone but was very pleasant and didn't realize that she was new. The food was as expected at a restaurant if this nature very elegant and great! The ambience was really to our liking, little dark, with a blue back lighting, low smooth music like bob marley and Sade. we would recommend highly!"

  • "Great place for perfectly balanced fusion as well as traditional and amazingly prepared food; a really great wine list; and exceptional prices. In Manhattan, this meal would cost three times as much. It's like a New York restaurant on the boardwalk. Very sophisticated."

  • "Delicious food, great ambience, and wonderful service. Located directly across the street from the beach!"

  • "We came to Cape May for dinner to feel like we were getting away. We came to Seasalt to enjoy the outdoor beachside environment and relaxed atmosphere while enjoying fine food and service. WE WERE NOT LET DOWN ON ALL COUNTS! Food was very good, service was impeccable, seaside table watching the orange full moon rise at sunset...priceless! My wife and I desperately needed a flawless night out with no distractions other than each other. We got what we needed."

  • "We had a very nice dinner and the outdoor patio was a great place to enjoy the view of the beach."

  • "We enjoyed the atmosphere and most of the meals were excellent. The service was slow and things came out at wrong times. I would go back"

  • "Our first visit was not our last!! Everything was beyond expectations - service, atmosphere and best of all, the delicious food. Dinner was so good, we returned later in the week to sample breakfast outdoors, which was also very enjoyable. The rest of the fine dining restaurants in Cape May are going to have to up their game!!"

  • "We were warmly greeted when we arrived and taken right to our table. The waitstaff was very well versed in the menu. He even brought over an special menu describing which offerings were suitable for gluten-free, vegan, etc. It was very helpful. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. I look forward to going back soon."

WE had small plates of food that we never had before article char with caviar snapper scallops tuna really great the main dishes veal chop and chicken were wonderful too. Way too much food but we had fun trying. Second time here and not thrilled with the desserts service was great timed everything so we had time in between each course very we'll run restaurant we will go back"

  • "It was overall just good but not 5 star good. The restaurant itself was beautiful. The only sort of complaint was the bread."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "Service was very slow. Pace to courses uneven. Appetizers were very good. Ravioli appetizer too big. Some Entrees were good some bland. All veggies bland. Noise level very high."

  • "The phrase "slit your wrists" is tossed around lightly these days, but as the clock ticked towards 90 minutes without our meals arriving, that impulse started to feel like our only escape. The under-experienced staff looked like the keystone cops scurrying about doing nothing. As for the food, the soup arrived cold, the calamari was far too salty, and our fish was over cooked- but hey, a lot things can happen to a piece of halibut in 90 minutes. There are better choices in Cape May, especially at this price point."

  • "The food was overpriced for the quality. Scenic view on the beach."

  • "Atmosphere is awesome and food is even better. Highly recommended.. Not your typical Cape May dining experience. Cape May is in need of new restaurants with creative ideas , food concepts and standards of service. SeaSalt is on that course... Try it you'll Like it !!!"

  • "Terrible SERVICE, food nothing exceptional, quality not worth the money. Poor presentation of food, quality of food poor."

  • "We hadn't been to Cape May in over 10 years and wanted to go to a place we had never been. Sea Salt was a great pick. From drinks to appetizers to entrees, we enjoyed every bite. The dessert menu looked yummy but we were too full."

  • "Welcome another amazing restaurant to the Cape May fine dining scene! Every dish was well thought out and cooked to perfection. The service was the perfect balance of being attentive without being overbearing. Attention was paid to every last detail, from the pre-dinner cocktails at the bar to the French press coffee with desert (I've had many fine meals ruined by a bad cup of coffee, but not this time!). One caution - the service is leisurely, so if you have a strict timetable, let them know. It's not that the service is slow or poor, it's just deigned for a relaxed pace with time to enjoy the view and the company of your party between courses."

  • "I live in Cape May and this was my first time at Sea Salt. We participated in Restaurant Week which was great because we were able to try items that are on their regular menu and a much less expensive price. Our waitress, Kendra was fantastic but we also had 5 other people come to our table; including 2 individuals who both brought our appetizer course out - twice as well as being offered our dessert course - twice. I think communication in the back of the house may need to be worked on. Good food - great view!"

  • "This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant. The first 2 were mediocre experiences. On this visit, the menu had expanded and the food was much improved. However, we had requested patio seating when the reservation was made; that seating was confirmed when the restaurant called us the morning of. When we arrived however, we were told - without explanation - that the patio was full which was a disappointment given that it was a beautiful evening. Thereafter, the service was very disjointed and we had numerous staff serve different segments of our meal. The manager apologized for the service - but not the seating glitch - at the end of the meal and "comp'd" desert and coffee for the entire table. A nice gesture but we will not likely return soon"

  • "Smoked trout wrapped in lettuce, grilled arctic char with grilled romaine, heavenly desserts!"

  • "I have visited Cape May a number of times and have gone out with friends who live there to a number of restaurants that have come highly recommended. I have not been terribly impressed with the food at the others. This one, for me, is a stand out. My friends had the ink linguine dish, the halibut dish (which was part of a prix fixe) and I had a vegetarian plate (it is not on the menu, so ask). They were all, outstanding. The starter for me (pea risotto) was fine. THe only perhaps slight let down (too salty) but the others--crab and corn soup, were incredibly good and my colleague had a creme brûlée for dessert which was fab. Go! "

  • "Had a great dinner outside with a good view of the beach. Would recommend the lamb it was very tender and flavorful! Staff were helpful and very friendly!"

  • "You will not find a much better restaurant in New Jersey, let alone Cape May. Chef Lou knows what he is doing. The food presentation is beautiful. Every dish is better than the next and the service is impeccable. I highly recommend the scallops and the aged rib eye."

  • "SeaSalt was a great restaurant for my two-year anniversary dinner. Staff and food was phenomenal!"
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "The food is excellent! The dishes are "simple" but in their simplicity, the ingredients shine and Chef Lou's classical training is evident as he extracts strong depth of flavor in each individual course. We enjoyed a tasting menu, a very good value for the range and selection of dishes. Amy, the manager, paired wines for us with each course, which only added to our remarkable experience. The decor is modern and sleek, indicating fine dining in a relaxed, trendy atmosphere. The view of the beach and promenade is lovely and the outside dining looks promising as warmer weather approaches. Our server was working his second day and still discovering his cadence, but his enthusiasm was infectious. As summer residents, we will be back soon."
