Diner Reviews
  • "The food was incredible - but the noise level was unbearable. If you are over 30 you will feel like a grandma."

  • "Yes, SS&P is a trendy Miami Hot Spot ... but don't hold that against it. Large menu. Lots a great food (roasted vidalia onion stuffed w/ shrimp grantin, grilled octopus, seafood salads, miso black cod w/ roasted fennel, truffle-coated seabass, lobster risotto), inventive tasty cocktails etc. Great people watching, especially as the scantily clad boating crowd pull-up-to-the-dock. Really cool tables-die dinning along the Miami River. Pricey, but worth it!"

  • "The hostesses are very sweet, especially standing in the entrance of the restaurant with the humity and heat. I was disappointed as I had been there for lunch and our waiter was very nice. Dinner was a differnet experience all together. The waiter was arrogant not friendly, it seemed as if he was doing us a favor and felt he knew more than I did about the type of wine that I like. Wine list is not very extensive, I wanted a cabernet, he recommended a Malbec, which I don't like, then pushed another wine which was nothing out of the ordinary . I wanted a super tuscan. My chilean sea bass was a bit fishy and the yukon potatoes which I could not eat they were extremely salty, a $45.00 plate very disappointed."

  • "Excelent food and great atmosphere to be with family and friends. I wish I had a place like this back at home"

  • "Great upscale place to go for lunch by boat with friends. Food was delicious and wait staff very attentive."

  • "Great ambiance, good food, but we had a reservation for 9:45 and we had to wait more than 40 minutes for the table , the recepcionists were terrible!!"

  • "third time here, never disappointing . Amazing food, great service, and wonderful ambiance. This restaurant is hot for a reason; it is a refreshing day or night out next to the Miami River. Every time I visit, I try a new dish and I am never disappointed."

  • "Very excited to go. View was nice! Food was mediocre but service was terrible! I ordered a caipirinha for the bar (20 dollars!) it was the worst caipirinha and the most expensive I had ever tried! Then, over dinner, I ordered a glass of wine (it was good), then I ordered a second glass of wine that never came! But it was counted in the check!! I would never go back! Food was not bad but nothing out of the ordinary and very overpriced! But the service and the "i could not care less attitude of all the waiters and manager" that totally killed my experience."

  • "We had a great experience. Nice place and beautiful people."

  • "The greeting is warm and friendly and the service is fine...we were a table of 5 and overall, enjoyed the meal..for what is ostensibly a sea food restaurant we found the menu to be strangely lopsided with everything other !!! Inside was very loud and conversation was difficult even though the restaurant was about 2/3rds full...outside on the deck is very attractive and I'm sure pretty at night...booking is a challenge at this establishment, likely because they are vogue at the moment and protect themselves from no show me, if you want fish go next door to Casablana it's not as attractive and lacks the bar and cocktail ambiance"

  • "Since they are so trendy nowadays in the 305 scene I think they forgot about crucial details in the food which lacks better taste/freshness, also, the menu is kind of poor for a restaurant near the pier full of fresh fishes restaurants around....I would rather eat at Garcias and then go to SSP just for drinks and/or appetizers which are really nice....in other hands the area is cozy and vibrant, just like the city. If you have children don't go at night, this place gets packed and the friends of the owner/staff always cut the reservations lines."

  • "Bad, i think friends can everething, normal consumers not, one hour wait with reservation, smell of pol fat every where and food so so"

  • "Very bad with making reservations thru open table. Made error said 2 instead of 3. Said cannot accommodate. Told them that was not the right thing to say. Requested to speak to Manager told I would have to do it through an e-mail. Called on my way to restaurant and traffic very heavy I announced to give the courtesy that we would be a little late. Said cannot honor reservation if later than 15 minutes. I understand that this is the latest hot spot in Miami but I was not happy at all. I live on the beach for 24 years and never experienced anything like this before"

  • "Waited over an hour for our table, service was alright, (long lapses in between)appetizers were phenomounal main dishes mediocre."

  • "I've been to Seasalt many times, for dinner and for happy hour and it's really a awesome place! Inside it's beautiful and outside its a vibrant and charming place to enjoy a glass of wine and to see beautiful people listening to a great music! And the food is the best!"

  • "This is a great place and you should try to go. You heard a lot that it's difficult to find a table, I have being able to book a table every single time thought opentable. Food it's excelent, service and ambience are good as well."

  • "Everyone was very freindly, the service and the food were excellent. Definitely will return. Ther is only one thing we did not like, the valet parking. It's not really valet because you leave your car in a parking lot and you have to walk to the restaurant. Not good when is raining."

  • "We sat on the deck overlooking the river which was pleasant. The dock does vibrates every time a person moves. All members in our party thought the food was delicious. The service did not equal the expense. Server was intrusive often interrupting conversation. Food and drinks for other tables were brought to our table 3 times (also intrusive). We waited for knives after the hot main courses were served. Servers did not know who ordered which items."

  • "Prices are little high and they charge you automatic 18% tip although you are less than 4 people on table"
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Here's my issue. This is one of those places that says they'll charge you $50/person if you don't cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance. They also clearly state they'll only hold it for 15 minutes after the scheduled time. So what do you think happens when you show up on time - maybe a couple of minutes early? They send us to the bar. Fine. We're not in a hurry. We have great but expensive ($19 each) gin martinis from a personable bartender. Things are going well. Twenty minutes later, no one has even checked in on us. I go up to the desk. Fair amount of confusion. Gentleman explains that it's the hostess' first time. OK. Return to the bar. Another 20 minutes passes. I go back. We finally get seated. Get over yourselves."

  • "Good food, good service, too loud inside....its pricey but at least the portions are good."
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "The food was very good, nice portions and great flavors. The service was horrible, perhaps the worst I have seen at a restaurant with this price point. I think it is just poor training as the server was not rude, she just didn't know what she was doing and that was true of all the staff, from the bus people to the assistants. The final touch was the lunch bill was over $100 and there were no refills on iced tea. I have to admit, that was a first. We won't be back."

  • "We were greeted warmly upon arrival and promptly seated in accordance with our reservation. The only negative I had heard about the restaurant previously was of snooty waiters. Our waiter was the opposite of snooty: friendly, engaging, solicitous, accomodating, helpful with the menu, and his service was impeccable. The food, starting with the appetizers (tartar, vidalia onion, lobster chowder) through the main courses (whole dover sole, filet mignon, octopus) and dessert (choolate truffle) all was superb, of the highest caliber."

  • "Had lunch with friends on Saturday afternoon and could not wait to post the photos and my review on Facebook ... something I very rarely do. Seasalt and Pepper deserves their due recognition. You know what they say .... it's all about "location, location, location" because the ambiance is fantastic; but in this case, so was the food and the service ... Fantastic all the way around. My friend and I always rate our dining experiences from one to ten ... we go out quiite often and I cannot remember the last time we gave out a 10 ... until now! Enjoy !!!"

  • "Great ambiance, great view of the river and skyline far away. Very Miami with the boats and yachts anchoring right up to the restaurant. All is fine, except the sky high prices. It is much more expensive than it needs to be."

  • "booking for 2 at 8h30 on a sunday . Arrived on time , very loud music and people dancing . No pb for us . The music volume lowered after 9. I ordered octopus as appetizer, waiter said sold out i order cod for entree waiter says sold out I was very surprised that due to the location they were sold out on fish as they are always full and it was only 8h30so they can anticipate. I ordered 2 glasses of champagne ( quite expensive at 24 usd per glass) . Waiter bring them in wine glass ?? I was surprised . Waiter said run out of champagne glasses ?? .Then he arrived with 2 champagne glass empty and wanted to decant ... Food was good anyway , a little bit pricey 300 usd for 2 with 3 glasses of wine . So a mix feeling . Ambiance is nice anyway"

  • "New seafood hot spot on Miami River. Very chic chic. Lots of beautiful people walking about. Food was delicious, including tuna and salmon tartar, lobster bisque and Classic Seasalt Seafood Casserole. Be careful before ordering the specials -- our son and his girlfriend ordered the fish special and it was $140!"

  • "Attentive staff was the highlight...along with the open sky dining. The no-see-ums were biting just before the glorious twilight, but staff brought over fans to help alleviate the situation. But it's a dock bar/restaurant along the Miami River, and we felt it was overpriced (ex: $40 for a fish dinner, $40 for a pasta dinner, $60 bottle of the house wine). The drinks were SoBe Club prices. I think this is a neighborhood restaurant, which could do well because of the location, but we felt they are a little overpriced...is it a fancy dock bar. I'll defintiely go for again at twilight ...for happy hour! ; )"

  • "You have to be on the right mind set to go to this restaurant. I was trying to have a nice dinner with my fiancé and we ended up screaming at each other across the table. We were seated outside without even being asked if we wanted in or out and it was very hot so we did not enjoy our time and actually rushed through dinner to get to air conditioning and a quieter place where we could actually hear each other. Part of the problem is that they sat us down right by the outside speakers so the noise was unbearable. Food was good and great for people watching but next time, I will be more careful of where I am seated."

  • "I kept hearing the food was excellent and that it's an "in" restaurant. The menu was limited and both the appetizer and entree had no good taste. I found it to be over rated and expensive."
