SearsuckerGood food!Food was amazing for a group that likes to have their taste buds excited! Fun and trendy restaurant on a Friday night. Only thing making this a perfect evening was the service. Once we placed our drink and food choices, we never saw the waitress again. Took a while to ask for our check and then even longer to run the card. Will visit one more time to see if the service/waitress was just a fluke experience.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNew FavoriteSearsucker is an awesome new restaurant. We ordered a bunch of their small plates and shared. DELISH! Ambiance was beautiful and service was wonderful. Thanks!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMixed experienceWent for dinner with our kiddo. Duck fries are incredible! Server said the scallops were "the best ever" and I ordered the Brie as an entree. They do NOT have a children's menu and the server didn't understand what we wanted for our kiddo; one of the apps is like a grilled cheese so I asked if they could just make a basic grilled cheese for us. She said yes- but out came the full app smothered with non-kid-friendly ingredients. We sent it back and they made us a new one. However, they still charged us for the full price without bringing the soup goes with it.
We would go back, but sans kiddos. It's just not child-friendly. Scallops are tasty but not the "best ever." Brie was small even for an app. Dessert portion was too small for the $$.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGood TimedFirst visit with a good friend. Great competent service. Wonderfully delicious food served quickly and in a unique display. The best resteraunt experience I have had in a long time.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood place for a night outI took a friend here for a belated birthday present and loved her food. The shrimp and grits along with their cheddar cheese rolls were yummy together. The Mai with crab had lots of different layers of taste which nicely compliment the wasabi purée.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMUniqueThe menu was very unique but the waiter gladly explained it all. We all ordered something different and tried several things. Every item was excellent. We were there for 2 celebrations in the family and they brought out 2 free cakes and candles. They made the experience amazing. I would recommend anyone to go here6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWAY TOO LOUD

Food server- robotic- no personality5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Seersucker. The menu is eclectic and everything we tried was excellent. The muscles were outstanding. The restaurant is very noisy. It is hard to hear the conversation at your table. That said, we will definitely to back. There are many more items on the menu we would like to try.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, but expensiveFood and service were both excellent. Dishes seemed slightly overpriced even when compared to other high end restaurants in Scottsdale.
Noise level was on the loud side. This was somewhat distracting, but definitely did not keep us from enjoying a great meal.
Would return without hesitation for a special occasion.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFilet and DuckGround filet hamburger and Duck Fat fries are to die for!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBecome a regularThis was my third visit to Searsucker. As it was Saturday and the end of Arizona Restaurant Week I did expect the noise levels to be more than my previous visits. They were.
We had a mix of starters which we all shared as a table The friends I took enjoyed it immensely although I don't think they will repeat the "Cowboy Caviar"
We had a great evening and plan to return soon.
.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and findEclectic, fun and excellent service - waiter broke down the menu and everyone loved their meals. Like finding a secret dinner hotspot in the midst of a business complex - and it works! Eliminate mandatory $5 valets-no other reason to pull into the lot!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, even better decorThe food is good, we'd return, although not likely to rush back. The cocktails are great, and the decor of the restaurant is worth a trip in and of itself.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPhoenix/Scottsdale Restaurant WeekWent to Searsucker with my wife and a second couple for Phoenix/Scottsdale Restaurant Week. Fixed menu was diverse and showcased Sear's unique dining options. Items we ordered included the cowboy beans and squid for starters; both were good although in my opinion the squid was better. Entrees we ordered included the Filet (amazing) and the Ono (just okay). For desert the entire table ordered the chocolate moose, although I wish I would have ordered the Red Velvet Cake instead. Overall, excellent dining experience and the restaurant offers a unique selection of cocktails and a notable wine list. Enjoy.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeDon't let the building fool you. The decor is great; relaxing yet vibrant. Food is good, server was very knowledgable, and wine list is well rounded. Also have good specialty cocktails. Menu is hard to decipher, but we enjoyed everything we ordered. Definitely worth trying.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great first experienceWhat a great first experience at Searsucker- the wait staff was friendly and prompt, we never waited for a thing. And the food was phenomenal. The cheddar puffs were simply delicious. We opted to try a bunch of stuff- a few small plates, the bacon grits (yum) but our favorite dish was the risotto. It was creamy, delicious and loaded full of fresh veggies that were cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back again soon!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEclecticSearsuckers had a number of unusual starters and entree's, wasn't too adventurous myself however the table next to us ordered bull balls, beef marrow and other fairly rich dishes. We enjoyed the Mushroom Risotto and had the chicken lollipops (spicy), the Red Velvet Cake we took home our dessert and some of our meal.Great wine list and lots of great people watching. Our server was friendly and knowledgable about the menu.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat foodpros - great food and good atmosphere, creative and tasty cocktail menu, waitress was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu items, looks like they have a great happy hour menu option too
cons - The menu items have super cute names and little to no description so I felt bad that I had to ask our waitress about 90% of the things I was considering ordering. I was also a bit annoyed that the in house menu didn't match the one displayed on the AZ restaurant week website...5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely coming back for sure.First experience at Searsucker and can honestly, will be going back again. The food was excellent. We stuck with the Smalls and the Ands, which were all great choices. I am excited for a future visit to try everything on the menu. My favorite Small was the Short Rib and Squid. Mussels were great. Brussels sprouts changed my life. Not too big of a fan of the chicken lollipops.
As for drinks, the Peter Rabbit and house sangria were awesome.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe feel of the restaurantThe feel of the restaurant is very nice. The menu was unique, and well thought out. We were there for lunch, and both enjoyed our food. We had the burger and the steak salad. Would definitely go again, and would like to go for dinner, and spend some time in the bar. It also had a nice feel, and is large.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMInfreakincredible!Second time to eat here. Just incredible food and service! Had the sangria, nice and light and the sweet hot squid was unbelievable both times. Had the kale caesar salad and it was sooooo delicious. Only weak point was the free cupcake for my friend's birthday that was dry and lifeless. Over all a 15 out of 10.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a Menu! This is a very large restaurant that, in my opinion, has everything going for it but one big thing. Great location, a great bar, very good staff, good ambiance and very good food. The one thing that frustrated me and made my visit less than excellent was a menu tries to be so cute describing the dishes with catchy words that you cannot tell what the dishes are. If there were only a dozen or so items on the menu it would not be so bad, but there are many, many items that after you look it over it becomes overwhelming.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic restaurant!!This is my new favorite. Great menu with delicious choices! Happy hour is great too - good wine list, great small plates and great atmosphere.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMCulinary ExperienceMy friend and I like to try a lot of different things so we opted on the small pates. All were very flavorful but a little too rich (and I love rich). We had the braised short ribs, squid, pork belly and the quail. I’m pretty adventurous but the quail in the jar was a little much. Next time I would do just one of the items we selected and then go for something to counter balance the richness.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond VisitThe Phoenix location was just as good as our first trip to the San Diego original. My wife and I both had the Mahi TNT - an outrageously good piece of fish with crab and horseradish mixed on top. We added the bacon grits as a great side dish. Inventive dishes at Searsucker continue to amaze. You have to try the donughts and chocolate for dessert - crazy good.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food!Try the steak salad at lunch (I haven't been for dinner yet) - the brie croutons are fantastic! Pulled pork sandwich was absolutely delicious as well......great atmosphere and I look forward to trying it for happy hour too. Great menu at lunch. Definitely worth checking out!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe read about Searsucker inWe read about Searsucker in the New Times and selected it for our weekly date night, which also happened to be birthday night. We loved the place. The food choices are varied, creative and will excite foodies. We wished for bigger appetites so we could try more things. We opted for a smorgasbord of small plates, rather than the entrees, but we'll go back to try the entrees soon enough. Our waiter was great - present when we needed him. He also helped us with the menu, which is full of things with names that don't really give away the dish, and foods I've never heard of. I particularly liked the drink list. Whomever designed the drinks is pretty creative, luring me away from my standard glass of red wine. Highly recommended!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary dinnerThe champagne for dessert was a nice touch, but I would have given them high marks in any case. The bartender was very good and mixed a couple of martinis for us very well. The salad was crisp, dressing delicious. Main courses were hot, tasty and shared. We split a dessert and both thought it was a wonderful place and would definitely return.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSearsuckerWe were excited to visit Searsucker as the chef is one of the hottest chefs in the US right now. The menu was daunting but we got through with the help of "Tim" our waiter who looks like Taylor Hicks. The food was really exceptional and the portions very generous even for the small plate items. We sincerely hope Searsucker grows in popularity and is successful. The location is somewhat difficult and is a destination restaurant...not one that is in a mall or downtown Scottsdale location. The office type location is different but the restaurant is beautifully appointed with high energy atmosphere. Good luck to them and to the chef!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood Great - Service Not So MuchThe food was inventive and delicious. Portions were just right - large enough to give perceived value, but small enough to finish. The duck fried were outstanding! And the Rum and Coke dessert - yum. Surprisingly light. When we first got there (we dine earlier than “fashionable"), service was wonderful. Attentive without being smothering. Then it started to fill up and service went down hill. Felt forgotten at times. For what we spent, service didn't match up. I realize it is a problem with management not having enough waiters when it gets busy. It's unfortunate, but the wait staff has to pay for these decisions. An issue that needs attention. If we go there again, we will make our reservations for earlier than this last time.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMInterested in trying Malarkey'sInterested in trying Malarkey's restaurant after hearing about the opening and then watching him on The Taste on ABC.
Searsucker is a fantastic restaurant. The food was creative, delicious and quality of the ingredients was top-notch. Searsucker is the new gem in old town scottsdale and moves to the top of my list in the area.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was great service as usual. It was great service as usual. Although the salad was a bit mediocre. Dressing too salty.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMJust plan cool and delicious.Awesome dining experience. Knowledgable, friendly, and energetic staff. The flavors in the food are out of this world. Unreal hand crafted real in-house infused cocktails. Really cool atmosphere. Definitely will highly recommend this place, as well as return as often as I can.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place and lots of atmosphere.Great place and lots of atmosphere. Interesting and tasty menu - we only had appetizers but they were all great. And then we shared two desserts - the donuts and chocolate terrine which were both amazing!!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch was Luscious!Went with my Mom for lunch--requested comfortable seating which the hostess was glad to accommodate (Mom has had six back surgeries). They put us at a large booth for six, so we had plenty of room. I ordered the steak salad and Mom had their Cobb salad. The greens and dressing were PERFECT, the brie croutons were to die for and the french fried onions topped it all off. My steak was cooked perfectly as well {medium rare}. Mom enjoyed her Cobb as well, it had large pieces of bacon and looked yummy. Look forward to a return visit soon.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome spot for foodies butAwesome spot for foodies but only if you also like loud music. Very trendy, open atmosphere with tasty cocktails and a wide vareity of chic American eats. Will absolutely go back.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, however, the descriptioGreat food, however, the descriptions on the menu try too hard to be clever to the point you can't figure out what they describing.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOdd-hip menu writing concealsOdd-hip menu writing conceals some excellent offerings.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful space and freshBeautiful space and fresh and interesting ingredients and preparations.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and cocktails were fantastic.Food and cocktails were fantastic. I will return!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our 30th Wedding AnniversaryIt was our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We wanted to try something different. Searsucker was the choice and it was a good one! We enjoyed every minute and every taste. We ordered drinks, fries, bone marrow, duck, wine and cauliflower. All were fabulous! Our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We will definitely return!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMheat it up!The food was kinda cold all the way around, from apps to main course. Our service was excellent!4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!I loved the smalls ie appetizers! We only had three but it wa enough to fill us up and didn't need anymore good. The service was excellent!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, excellent serviceMy friend and I on a spring training trip booked a last minute reservation at Searsucker and couldn't have been happier. The upscale restaurant didn't look twice at our dressed-down baseball outfits and we were rewarded with an amazing meal. I highly suggets starting with the chicken and waffles - fantastic! And the duck 3 ways was delicious. All of our server's suggestions were spot on!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother level of DiningWhat a gem!! Wonderful food, ambience and service friendly courteous without being too familiar and "in your face".
A dinner experience which I want to share with friends and family in the future.
The food was delightful. Fresh, tasteful and exciting with many innovative ideas and flavours. Cool, relaxing ambience and comfortable seating.
Wide ranging wine list with a couple of French classics.
All this at very, very reasonable prices. My only fear is that it will become so popular I will have to book months in advance.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLots of great flavors. MayLots of great flavors. May I suggest trying lots of smalls and sharing an entree. Be sure to try one of their signature cocktails.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place and wonderfulGreat place and wonderful food. My only compliant is having to pay for valet parking. At this level of an establishment, it's surprising they would charge their customers to valet park. Also, the Red Velvet cake was disappointing. The cake was very moist but frosting was flat, which is really the highlight of any red velvet cake. Maybe add some cinnamon to the frosting to pump it up. Just my 2-cents! :)3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBuild-up and delivered, likeBuild-up and delivered, like eating at a nightclub, DJ and all but they back it up with service and food.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMInspired lunch fareStopped in for lunch during Gooding & Co. auto auction. Nice setting, great service, inspired lunch fare with salads, sandwiches, and a few entrees. New twist in the classic french dip, BLT, ruben, etc. Every bit as tasty as the San Diego location. Will return for dinner.
+ Sandwiches and salads are good
+ Rustic but trendy decor
+Attentive service
- Location. Next to Fashion square in the bank building but not very accessible. You have to know it is there and figure out how to get there.
- Poor selection of craft beer
- Want fries with your burger? That'll be an extra $31/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
