  • "We have really missed having the Seafood Peddler near us since it moved to this location an although the view is nicer the food remains unchanged. If you're in the mood for a lobster or fresh fish, this is the place. Our server Mike has been with them for years and is spot on when it comes to giving you good service. The kitchen sometimes is a tad slow but have a drink and relax with the beautiful view. It's worth it. "

  • "Seafood Peddler is a great place to eat. It's right at the harbor and they have a wonderful view of the water. It's quiet, friendly, and has great food, service and happy hour! You can sit outdoors if the weather is warm enough. For us, it wasn't. We were going on a sunset cruise of the bay and wanted to have a small meal before we left. Happy Hour starts at 4 and goes till 7. drinks are priced well. There is also a happy hour menu. I had the Oysters Rockefeller, they were the best I've had. The lobster bisque is outstanding! The bathrooms are located down the stairs and you need a token to enter. ( That keeps them nice and clean!) I can't wait to go back!"

  • "It's a solid seafood restaurant with and Italian slant. Prices are very fair and as the name of the place implies, it is also a seafood market."

  • "Enjoyed the happy hour! The pasta dish was wonderful. The Caesar salad was very ordinary- will pass on it next visit. View is very nice."

  • "Made early reservations via OpenTable-as my parents were coming (older with "requirements"), I requested the back room, carpeted area (easier to hear you, my dear), with cushions on the wood chairs (for the tushies). We arrived to "Table #1" with spectacular view on a blue sky day, situated where we requested, cushions ready to go. Our server was fast, friendly and efficient, even keeping a watchful eye over our meal progress. Food was wonderful (we are 2 degrees from "regulars" here and we have always liked the food here), handling special requests with aplomb, drinks were luscious and desserts were the perfect ending to a great meal. Extra added bonus - after our meal we took a walk along the boardwalk. We will be back."

  • "We have been coming to Seafood Peddler to celebrate birthdays and special occasions in our family for years, since we discovered it in San Rafael. This time, my wife suggested it for my birthday. It's the only place where everyone in our family can always find something to like. It was lobster night, and the lobsters, flown fresh from Maine, did not disappoint. As always, delicious, reasonably priced, and the service is always prompt and friendly. We plan to continue dining here for years to come."

  • "It was a gorgeous day for our side trip, and we had a nice table overlooking the marina. Note that the restaurant is north of the main shopping area. Nice folks there, but the food was barely mediocre. My date had a crab sandwich, which lacked tomato and the lettuce added little to the presentation. Also overwhelming amount of white onion, little flavor otherwise. I had the Idaho trout, which was served in an olive oil bath, and an orange garnish rather than lemon. Garlic mashed potatoes turned out to be fried potatoes with garlic added, and the vegetables were nothing spectacular. Both dishes lacked flavor, and the presentation was as though the cook didn't put out any effort. Sadly wouldn't make a trip there again."

  • "Love the SeaFood Peddler. First, the location in Sausalito, at the boat harbor is beautiful. However, the food - always great. I love Their salmon. When available, Their wild king salmon is just delicious, and I enjoy it with Their "Captain Morgan' sauce. The Scottish salmon is also very good. My Husband loves the Lobster linguine - always raves about the richness of the flavors. And, the service is always great."

  • "We have been here several times. We did not like it at all when it was in San Rafael, but this one is much nicer. Having said that, we find the nightly specials to be the way to go. The specials are very good and reasonably priced. We were here for Valentine's Day and thought it was a little expensive for what we had. The food was OK, but nothing to write home about. There are no specials on holidays. Also, we booked through Open Table and were marked as a NO SHOW. It took a bit of work and emailing to straighten that out, so I would suggest that you make sure that whoever seats you acknowledges that you are there."

  • "My husband might be called a "lobster snob". He loved the lobster here! I even enjoyed it and I am not a lobster fan. Very fresh, sweet and delicious! Would highly recommend for any lobster lover."

  • "We've eaten here many times. Manager prepared Caesar Salad is always a must! Cocktails were prepared perfectly, a bit pricey for name brands. Seafood is EXCELLENT: sushi grade sesame crusted ahi tuna, Hawaiian swordfish, salmon. We shared dessert, cobbler with sorbet on side. Server was attentive, not too overbearing and greeting by manager made us feel we were at home. Be prepared to spend $125-150 per couple depending on spirits, wine ordered. Seafood quality is superb! Try Hawaiian swordfish for a less dense, slightly more oily melt in your mouth treat. Or the 1 and a half # lobster for $32 special!"

  • "We were regulars at the San Rafael location. The restaurant consistently delivers excellent seafood, and we went specifically for fresh crab. Our waiter was friendly but had no interest in taking care of our needs. We were surprised that the management allowed our waiter on the floor. We will probably give the restaurant the another try, but they charge top dollar for the food and there are several choices in the neighborhood. Very disappointing."

  • "They really know how to steam lobster. Tender, succulent. Get the special, or just order a pound and halter. Yum!"

  • "We haven't eaten here since they moved to this location. Love this spot, we were in a room with three sided windows, great views...our meal was great, definatley will go back and would tell others to try it!"

  • "After having a not so great luncheon there a few months ago, and not being as happy with it as we were when it was in San Rafael where we ate often, we decided to use a gift certificate and try again. Food was just so so, waiter forgot our coffee that we'd ordered with the dessert menu which also didn't come right away. Had to ask the waiter again after several minutes had passed, when he gave us the bill instead! Still great coffee though. Creme Brulee my favorite dessert, but a too thick disappointment . Perhaps the chef has changed? I haven't asked. But much more tasty places to eat in our home town, Sausalito."

  • "We have a tradition of dining on seafood each Christmas Eve. This is the second time we've chosen The Seafood Peddler, and were not disappointed. The lobster was steamed perfectly, the filet mignon was tender, and the Caesar salad was tasty (although, spending $21.50 for table-side prep was outrageously overpriced). All the wait staff were friendly and helpful. The flaming creme brûlée is not to be missed! Overall, we were delighted with our dining experience."

  • "This is a delightful restaurant situated in a charming and scenic location. The food is fresh and well prepared, the prices moderate, and the presentations appealing. The service is calm and courteous, with staff who are attentive and helpful. There is a friendly and welcoming aspect to this restaurant heightened by the care customers receive from the staff. Lunch is one of our favorite times at this restaurant, especially on Sundays."

  • "On Mondays & Tuesdays only, Seafood Peddler offers a delicious 1 lb. lobster with excellent clam chowder or salad, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and French bread. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and would go again. They also have a counter where you can order fresh seafood to take home."

  • "The perfect bowl of chowder! I would get 5 stars by itself, the blackened swordfish was good, and the lobster risotto had bits of shell occasionally. On prior visits, the service was five stars but on this visit it was average."

  • "I am sorry to write only a fair review. I did this because my petrale sole was cooked ok, only a small portion and then smushed on top of broccoli and mashed potatoes. Not a good presentation and it wasn't showcasing the fish! My husband said his Scottish salmon was ok. The lobster soup was good flavor but it shouldn't be that rough concisitency. The beet salad wasn't dressed well, try another dressing."

  • "The food was good, but a little pricey for basic food, nothing fancy. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, not a huge restaurant. We went at 7:30 on a Saturday night and the restaurant was about half full when we arrived and emptying as we were eating. Yes I would go again, for a comfortable place to eat good food."

  • "I had the lobster and it was as good as any I have ever had on the East coast. My husband's halibut was excellent also. The best in Marin for fresh, excellent seafood!"

  • "We had been to Seafood Peddler in San Rafael and enjoyed the meal. This new location is much cozier and has a vibrant atmosphere. We all enjoyed our meal and the warm ambiance on a cool Fall evening. We will certainly go back and will certainly recommend."

  • "Everyone treated us great from the moment we arrived. Richard seated us right away at a window table with a great view overlooking the Marina. Our server was so friendly and welcoming and offered his suggestion for a wine that was good but not too expensive. We all had the Crab Louis salad and it arrived promptly after we ordered which we appreciated as my 88 year old mother cannot sit very long. Another time I had the whole Dungeness crab that was amazing! They have a fresh seafood market within the restaurant I can highly recommend. We love this restaurant and for fresh seafood it is the best."
