This was our first dinner at the Seafood Peddler in this location. We had guests visiting from Kentucky who were really in to CA seafood. What a treat and a great find for future visits. We are often challenged to find restaurants where we can actually enjoy a conversation without shouting. The decor is lovely. Dinner was well paced and quite delicious. We'll be back!

I ordered Petrale Sole and asked for no potatoes, extra vegetables. I got extra potatoes, no vegetables, Take Two: they brought a big plate of vegetables, so salty that I couldn't eat them. Take Three: vegetables with no salt which I took home, since by that time, we were ready to leave. Noisy. Much prefer Scoma's.

I've been to this restaurant in the past so I knew it would be a good spot to take out of town guests. Food is always good and it has a great location overlooking the yacht harbor in Sausalito. They have a nice selection of fresh seafood, and meat for those who prefer it.

We frequented Seafood Peddler in San Rafael and was sad to hear they'd closed. But ecstatic that they're back, now in charming Sausalito. Wonderful food, pleasant staff, and an overall great atmosphere. The perfect spot to have dinner with friends!

I have been to the Seafood Peddler twice; once for brunch, and recently for dinner. Both times, we sat on the patio and enjoyed that very much. It was delightfully quiet and pleasant (I'm not sure if it would have been quiet enough indoors). The service has always been excellent. We took a friend to dinner this weekend for her birthday, and our waiter could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The food is very good. They have great Clam Chowder and salads. I wasn't a huge fan of the Petrale Sole at dinner...I didn't like the way they prepared it. But everything else was excellent, including the desserts. Prices are ok...a bit steep if you order drinks. All in all, a comfortable, friendly, non pretentious spot.

this is a wonderful restaurant. I've been coming to them for years when they were in San Rafael and was thrilled to learn they'd reopened in Sausalito as I was really disappointed when they closed nearby. Have taken many visiting friends there over the years and everyone has really enjoyed it. The seafood is great, the bread is really good and this time they had chocolate chocolate chip homemade gelato!

Occasionally I may have been considered as a bad customer due to my lack of tolerance for bad service. However, at the Peddler I was well behaved due to the excellence of the staff and the quality of the food and atmosphere. Every aspect of our experience there exceeded my hopes for a wonderful evening. In my travels it often seems like cities as beautiful as Sausalito the customers are treated like tourists. We felt like locals. See you soon.

Just outside of the main tourist area of Sausalito the Seafood Peddler is a hidden gem, on seeing it we switched our reservation from one of the 'tourist trap' restaurants and were not disappointed. The 'special entrees' are amazing value, we enjoyed the 1lb lobster and sides and came back the next night for the surf and turf both were outstanding. Another recommendation would be the Oysters Rockefeller, some of the best we have had and before 7pm come at the happy hour half price!!! We found the view and ambiance to be terrific and the service to be great ... this became our favorite restaurant in Sausalito.

Wine glass was dirty, received wrong entree for one of our party. Two of us ate our entree while the third one in our party watched then we watched while she ate. Asked for compensation and the waitress told us it would have to come out of her pocket. Really uncomfortable situation ended up tipping very little because wanted the bus boys to get what they should. Should have asked to speak to the manager. Very expensive to have received the service we received.

I enjoy coming here and sharing several appetizers which are very good. My friends also had hamburgers and fries which they also said were good. The only issue I have was when we were first seated they placed us next to a table with several young out of control children. The parents just sat there and didn't try to control them. We requested seating in another far away area of the restaurant. Management should have talked to the adults about their very noisy children but didn't. Even our waitperson was frustrated with the situation.

My husband wanted to go here for his birthday dinner. We had reservations for 8pm on a Tuesday and had the best table with a view (table #1). He had the 1 lb lobster special and I had the petrale sole special, both of which were very good. We had the chocolate mouse for dessert and it, too was very good. We were able to find parking within a few feet of the front door; if you go after 6 pm, parking is free. He enjoyed it so much, we are going back Thursday night for their surf and turf special!

This was our first visit. The ambience was terrific, the food was good but the service was poor and did not suit the atmosphere of such a place. Our second night we went into Suasalito proper and found service to our liking. The thing is the young woman who served us acted as though she was "the cat's pajamas" and she was pretty. Nevertheless , she was the poorest we have seen lately and we are out to dinner at least once a week ..many time twice.

Parking nightmare! -Very long wait for food and people sat down after us got food before us -Poor presentation, below standard for this type of restaurant, food presented as if at Denny’s -Portions for appetizer was ridiculously small considering the price & substandard quality of each item -Mixed grill appetizer – crab cakes burned & microscopic (not as advertised in the cold case), calamari charred and tiny -Did not serve salad as requested, brought with the appetizer, repeatedly told her bring after -brought one salad, we ordered two -Appetizer was advertised on menu as “enough to share” - extremely small portion -No eating plates or utensils provided -Table next to us complained that lobster was so tough could not even cut with a knife

Unfortunately, while the location is great and the scene is lovely, the food needs much work. I had the Lobster Bisque which was the worst I have ever had, even out of a can. I also had the Crab and Shrimp Louie salad - although that taste wasn't bad for $20 the portion was small. My frend had the 1 1/2 lb lobster special at $34.99- it was steamed and it was tough. Is it that difficult to make a good bisque and steam a lobster?

Not the best but above average. We had to send our over cooked steak back. My ahi tuna came atop a cream sauce after I specifically stated my dairy allergy - another send back. The staff was friendly enough. The food was pretty good once they got it right. Salads were over dressed. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but would return if it was convenient.

Dined with our daughter and had an OK experience. The food was not remarkable. Salmon tartar appetizer was long stringy pieces of salmon, not chopped and molded like it should be done. Entrees were good but not spectacular. What was shocking was the price... I guess we were paying for the view. Sorry, much better food quality for the price out there. I will not be returning.

I was in San Rafael for a conference and was looking for a seafood restaurant. Went to my trusted Open Table app and read the reviews for this restaurant and was sold. I am very glad I did!! The view of Sausalito's harbor is incredible from this second story restaurant and the menu of both east coast and west coast seafood was a real treat for this seafood lover. The service here is exceptional with everyone very proud of their restaurant and all that they can provide you. I highly recommend this if you are an out-of-towner and to experience true west coast delights.
