Diner Reviews
  • "Sea Watch is consistently great. We are fortunate to be only 15 minutes away. We had our favorite, and outstanding server, Robin. She was working outside so it was as if we were on the beach itself. The margaritas are outstanding. We enjoyed the crab cake, mahi mahi, and great desserts - fruit cobbler and vanilla ice cream and a hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream."

  • "This was our 2nd time at Sea Watch and we truly enjoyed it. The lobster bisque was delicious and delivered at a perfect temperature. My husband ordered the double stuffed lobster tails and they were outstanding. Other than our waitress ( who I suspect was having a bad day or not enjoying her job), we loved our experience."

  • "I brought my family here because I'd heard what a wonderful menu Sea Watch had. We were seated promptly, but our waitress never once cracked a smile. While she did her job reasonably well, she made us feel like we had inconvenienced her by showing up. The food was so-so, nothing special. My niece ordered the angel hair pasta with goat cheese and shrimp. The menu stated it contained red pepper flakes, so she didn't expect the lip-burning dish she was given. We asked the waitress to bring another, less spicy version, and all they did was water down her original plate and remove some of the shrimp. It was inedible. The prices were much higher than the "$$" rating given to it by Open Table. Other than the view, I wouldn't recommend it."

  • "The view is magnificent, the food wonderful, and the service is great BUT the Wednesdays special---1/2 priced bottles of wine(any wine on their list) is an absolute MUST!!!!! My husband and I generally have the filet mignon on a steamer plate and/or the roast chicken over a pancetta salad---both excellent and to make it even better this restaurant is only a 6 minute walk from our condo which makes our monthly trips to Ft. Lauderdale from New York even more enticing!!!!!"

  • "Every year I go to Sea Watch to celebrate my birthday and every year it always lives up to my expectations. I always request an indoor table with a sea view and have never been disappointed with their table selection. Service is excellent. Food is very good with the exception that the lobster tends to be a bit overcooked. But, I will be back again as I feel very happy when dining here."

  • "This was our first visit to Sea Watch. Our table had a panoramic view of the beach and the ocean. We dined at Sea Watch early in the evening and took advantage of the "Dinner at Dusk" low season special that offered 3-courses for $21.95. As starters we selected a green salad and the New England clam chowder - both were well- prepared. As entrees, one of us had a grouper almondine and I had a combination of grilled mahi mahi, scallops, and shrimp. Both dishes were excellent. A delicious Key lime pie was dessert. Service was efficient. We look forward to returning to Sea Watch."

  • "I cannot be in the state of Florida and not visit Seawatch! It truly is one of my most favorite dining experiences! Their Key Lime pie is the best out there. Thanks Seawatch for your special early dining menu!"

  • "We were seated at a table against the window affording us a lovely view of the ocean. The waitress, Karen, was very good. I had the Crab Tostada, lots of crab and quite flavorful. My friend had the Cobb salad, also very good. The portions were large and the presentation was nice. The best part was the chance to catch up in a lovely atmosphere, at a leisurely pace."

  • "We were extremely rushed by the waitress. The food was being served before the appetizer was finished and just "plopped down" in front of us. We were having a conversation with people at the next table and we were told we had to move as the tables were reserved for a party coming in. Thought that was downright rude of the waitress and the manager. We were moved upstairs where we continued our conversation. In my reservation I said it was a birthday dinner. This was not acknowledged. Very disappointing. Has been quite some time since I have been to the restaurant. I will continue to stay in Coral Springs and go to the Bonefish Grill where the food and service is far superior to the Sea Watch. Very over rated."

  • "My experience was disappointing. My spouse and I ordered lobster and it was over cooked and dry. Unfortunately we did not inform our waitress until after we consumed the meal. i did call the restaurant the next day and spoke to a manager about our experience. She apologized but only offered to buy us a drink the next time we came in."

  • "This is a gorgeous landmark located "on the ocean" with an outstanding view. Prime rib on the early bird menu is outstanding. Service was great, and a big surprise was that on Wednesday, bottled wines are 50 percent off on a super wine list, making several of them less than if purchased at a liquor store. Manager was a bit "pushy" to get us to move to an upstairs location to clear tables for arriving guests, which is understandable. Overall, a great, memorable experience every time we visit, which we will do again."

  • "Sea Watch is a lovely restaurant with good food and good service. Wednesday night wine bottles at half price is a wonderful way to enjoy new wines--filet mignon is great and the chicken over panzella salad is wonderful!"

  • "If u go for sunset special, order the lobster. I had the stuffed sole and filling was so mayonnaisey (gross). Salad good and veggies fresh. Key lime pie tasty."

  • "Sea Watch has the best setting of any South Florida restaurant, sitting smack on the beach just inside the seagrapes. The food and service are great. The combination makes for a wonderful dinner experience."

  • "We made the reservation asking for a table facing the ocean. Initially we were seated at a corner in the back which we refused. I ordered the Lobster Roll for lunch. Not what I expected. Never saw a Lobster Roll served on a slide of regular white bread. A fish sandwich that my husband ordered was quite bad. This used to be a good place. Not any more for the prices that they charge."

  • "We had a 5:00 pm seating reservation and were promptly seated at 5:00. The server was very friendly and was very attentive to our needs. The food was so good that everyone cleaned their plates. The lobster was cooked just right and the clam chowder was outstanding. We had the opportunity to sit at a window with a beautiful view of the ocean. Great job everyone. You can't beat their Dinner at Dusk prices. Looking forward to going back soon."

  • "I've been a patron for probably 30+years and have never had a bad experience at Sea Watch. The staff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable of the menu. Most of the time I place reservations and occasionally ask for a window table. They pay attention to the special requests and always accommodate! The food is always great but I like to stick with what I know! 90% of the time I visit with my family for lunch. I recommend shrimp salad, combination platter, crab tostada, clam chowder, conch fritters, french dip. The salads look amazing too! They hosted a wine tasting a few years ago out on the lawn and it was fabulous! I took a friend and we still talk about it! Wish they would do that a few times a year!"

  • "Food was okay, had the scallops and they were good. Ordered a side of vegetables and they were disgusting and soggy. Almost like they were heated in the microwave.. Also our waiter seemed very uninterested, like he didn't want to be there. I also put on my reservation that it was my mothers birthday, & they did not acknowledge it at all. Maybe if we came a little earlier it would've been a better experience."

  • "Staff was excellent went about their duties wonderfully answered questions about menu were just great. They didn't even ask you the how is every thing question when your mouth was full . They must have failed that class in hospitality school. LOL"

  • "Every time we visit Ft Lauderdale from Philly, we make it a point to eat at Seawatch by the Ocean. It literally sits on the Atlantic with great views with seafood to match. Out of season, the early bird specials are unbeatable, especially the prix fix 1 1/4 lb Maine lobster dinner for $21. The service aims to please as well"

  • "Seawatch is a not to miss stop to take friends and family to experience the true natural beauty of Fort Lauderdale. With fun and efficient well experienced servers, you immediately feel welcome. The food is simple but dependable and even with a rainy arrival by the time our meal was served so was a spectacular rainbow."

  • "after waiting for our reservation, we were finally seated and ordering cocktails when the manager came over and TOLD us "we HAD to move to another table" because he had a bigger party for our table. No apologies, no choices. Rude, rude, rude. Our choice was to leave and never return. Probably did us a big favor because we found a better restaurant with better prices and better food---and nicer attitude. This place has seen its' day."

  • "We had a wonderful time at Sea Watch for so many reasons. First the view of the ocean is spectacular! We were there for lunch and it was so quiet - we could really talk to each other in peace! Service was great. We had the shrimp salad sandwich which was out of this world! Great wine list! Absolutely the best restaurant I've been to in South FL in a long time!"

  • "Excellent spot for the food and ocean view. You certainly can't beat the "Dinner at Dusk" deal--$21.95 for a three-course meal. This special menu even includes a whole lobster, which was cooked perfectly! In addition to this culinary deal, the service was wonderful. Be sure to check out this gem of a restaurant--you won't be sorry!"

  • "We took a party of six for a special event. The evening was wonderful. We sat in the enclosed patio. Some of the guests objected to the high speed ceiling fans blowing on them. The food was excellent as always at the Sea Watch. We felt the service to be adequate. The front desk was odd in that they gave us a flashing gadget for when our table would be ready. After the gadget lite up we all went over to the desk and they then had us wait another 10 minutes while they got our table ready??? It was a little awkward. The noise level can get quite high and the view was adequate. Yet the food as always was excellent. We would go there more often, but it appears to be a little pricey. Check the online menu before you go."
