Not just because of the drink specials, but the food selection. As for the full menu during dinner, the clam chowder was the best we had ever had. Yes, splash is still good, but these two shouldn't even be compared. The Caesar dressing was good, but the lettuce wedges it's served on is a bit different and difficult to eat. The chicken was some of the best and the top serloin was also really good. However, if you order the top sirloin, don't allow anybody in your group get the filet because the filet at the Sea Venture is unbelievable and puts the top sirloin to shame.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Birthday Surprise!My husband and I are in the food industry so we are very critical when going to a new restaurant-but it was my birthday, and my husband surprised me with an amazing meal, with very informative staffing. All while we watched a sun set over the Pacific ocean.
We tried the fruit, cheese and nut platter as starter, followed by oysters rockerfeller, and confit/onion flat bread. We each had different salads which were underwhelming and without flavor-however the presentation was beautiful.
Entree's: husband had filet mignon (perfect temperature) and I had the Sea Venture -spicy blend between a seafood risotto and a jambalya-great flavors.

I had not been to Pismo in years so I did not know where to plan to eat out for our special night. Read the reviews for the restaurant on-site, so I gave it a shot. As a hotel guest, I could purchase a voucher at a discounted rate, that was nice. To our surprise, everything was really, really good! I have nothing but good things to say about the food. My husband had the oysters rockafeller, clam chowder and the prime rib special, he loved it all. I had the deconstructed bruschetta, beet salad and the double chicken breast, it was all fab! As you can tell, we ordered way to much, so we had some to spare and no room for dessert, do I am not able to comment on them. The sunset view created a soothing ambiance, and the presentation of the dishes was artistic. Our service was very good for a Saturday night, but we noticed that the couple at the table next to ours had a hard time getting the staff's attention, and they seemed to also have a problem with their appetizer. If u dine around sunset u get a beautiful view of the ocean. The workers are very courteous and the chief definitely knows what hes doing! Everytime were in pismo this is one of our stops.
