Diner Reviews
  • "Always a solid lunch offer. Went with the Salmon burger this time which was very good. The group liked the sushi options including the yellowtail and spicy tuna. The edamame was good but seemed to be a small portion for the price. Overall a good option for the area and usually get the lobster roll."

  • "Sea Pearl is an upscale seafood (with some Asian influences) restaurant located in Merrifield Town Center. The modern decor and great ambience enhanced our girls' night. The crab cakes were a but disappointing. They had a strong fishy taste, unlike most crab cakes I've had. However, my friend's scallops were delicious! Overall, a great restaurant for special occasions (it is on the more expensive side)."

  • "great food: the sea bass is wonderful and the sushi is excellent. We eat there an average of at least once every two months."

  • "I originally found this restaurant when a couple asked me to DJ their wedding. A couple of years later, my family and I were looking for something different to eat and we took the kids, they enjoyed it and our son, who was three at the time, showed prowess in using chopsticks. This most recent visit was for a date night. When we knew the kids were going to be out of town, both of us knew we wanted to enjoy Sea Pearl again. We ordered five different sushi rolls and everything was terrific."

  • "The trendy Falls Church location in the Mosaic district is a perfect location for this restaurant. It's only drawback is that it is on the main highway corner so the patio seating would be noisy. Otherwise, on the inside is great food and great atmosphere."

  • "Our first time here and we were not disappointed. The Chilean sea bass was wonderful and the appetizers were different such as the crispy spinach. The filet mingnon was only average and a little chewy. We have had better. Overall it was very enjoyable and the service was excellent."

  • "my boyfriend and I were just browsing the Tyson's corner area for sushi and came upon this on open table. We were both very impressed. The sushi was amazing and the oysters were delicious too!"

  • "I brought a friend to brunch to share one of my favorite places to eat with her. Both she and I enjoyed ourselves immensely, what with the great food, friendly and efficient service and pleasing atmosphere!"

  • "Went for a nice dinner and that's what we got. Mussels are best we've had. Great food and cocktails and good choice of reasonably priced wine. A little noisy but otherwise terrific."

  • "I love this place, the staff and food. They have the best food. The shrimp mac&cheese is the best as is their sushi rolls! I can't wait to back!"

  • "Sea Pearl is one of my favorite restaurants. It is beautiful. The food is artfully plated and is delicious. The waitstaff is attentive and the owner is always there to oversee everything. It is a wonderful dining experience. Try the lobster crepe at dinner and the grilled shrimp salad at lunch. Delicious!"

  • "Third Time eating here. Food/menu is always new and fresh with great presentation and taste. Service is always fantastic. Try the Ginger Samash martini - awesome drink! Bring a sweater though because sometimes the dining room is a little too cold"

  • "Had a fantastic dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday at Sea Pearl the other night. Food was amazing and the service was great. We had a few rolls as appetizers which were very fresh and tasty. We both had the sea bass as an entree which melted in your mouth. Would highly recommend Sea Pearl. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back often. Also to note the restaurant is right in the new Mosaic district. There was an outdoor movie playing the night we were there which was an unexpected treat and a pleasant surprise. Cool area with sidewalk coffee, gelato, clothing shops etc"

  • "I met a new colleague at Sea Pearl for an early lunch and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The noise level rose markedly as time progressed, but we could still maintain our conversation at a moderate voice level. I have eaten there twice, she had been many more times and both of us agreed - we will be back! Very enjoyable experience...great food, attentive service, lovely setting."

  • "Love to come here for the diverse selection of seafood and duck preparations. Kumamoto oysters never disappoint, as well the Hell sushi roll is always great. Duck Dumplings are so tasty, and the Fish Ribs were AMAZING, recommended by our server who didn't disappoint with knowledge of the menu."

  • "We were tired of Tyson's so we finally made it over to the Mosaic District and Sea Pearl. The food was awesome! There were many items I wanted to try but couldn't so we'll be back. The place was stylish and service very good."

  • "The crab benedict was exceptionally delicious, as was the white wine sangria! Service was excellent. My mother appreciated that it is quiet so she could easily hear and participate in conversation. The almond tart dessert with berries is so-so."

  • "Our first visit to Sea Pearl. Food was very good. Service was not so good. Our waiter tried to be cute but was just annoying. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine, and he poured the entire bottle into our glasses when he served us! We were so stunned that all we could do was just laugh when he finished! The restaurant is very large and beautiful, but was almost empty the Saturday night we were there. Not a good sign. I had the scallops, and they were delicious. My husband had the mac and cheese with shrimp and really enjoyed that too, but I doubt we will go back. Something was just off about the place."

  • "Went recently with my daughter and had a wonderful dinner. The calamari was delicious and the mac and shrimp was wonderful! I had the paradise roll which was refreshing with mango. Will definitely go again."

  • "If you want to get beyond run of the mill sushi and seafood, this is a great possibility. With our teenager out, my wife and I decided to try this - we are exploring places in the sparkly new Mosaic Center. This was not a disappointment foodwise - my wife had the sea bass, which she thought was delicious, and, it being hot, I wanted a cold dinner and had the sashimi salad and one of the many sushi rolls, all very interesting. Presentation was first class and food delicious. Service was excellent. Only drawback was that my cold food took longer to arrive than my wife's hot food, and the waiter explained they were down a sushi chef because the other one's baby had arrived early. Have to see next time if that was really the case."

  • "Food and ambiance is great. Wish the staff is a bit better trained on gluten allergies. Based on the discussion with the waiter he was not very educated and didn't offer to check with the kitchen. I did "get glutened" there but it is a risk I take at every restaurant."

  • "We dined at Sea Pearl on Sunday evening and everything was fantastic. The server was attentive and very helpful with recommendations, the food was superb, and the ambiance was nice. It's on the pricey side with entrees around $30 but it's worth it. Only downside- we were seated by the windows and they were absolutely filthy- pretty unappetizing whenever we looked outside (inside the restaurant everything was spotless though!)"

  • "This was our first time at Sea Pearl. We went for brunch on Father's Day and they didn't have their normal brunch menu, which was a shame because the special Father's Day menu didn't have any small plate dishes, which were the reason we had chosen Sea Pearl. I loved the decor and the server was attentive, but the food was lacking. My stuffed french toast wasn't "stuffed"—there was just a thin smearing of what looked like jam in between the two pieces of bread—and the edges were blackened. Neither of my companions were happy with their meals, either, and my boyfriend actually said that my stuffed brunch toast was better than his smoked salmon benedict."

  • "Our waiter was phenomenal! It was my birthday and he was very accommodating! I wish I could remember his name! Ugh! He happened to be my waiter when I dined there last year for my birthday and took really good care of us then as well."

  • "We've eaten here twice and the food has been very good to excellent. On the most recent trip the crab cake was outstanding, as was the crab pasta dish and the pickled beet salad. The romaine salad, a sort of interpretation of a Caesar salad, was less interesting but OK. One of the nice things about this restaurant is that it's less noisy than most these days (perhaps especially so on a Sunday evening) and so it makes for easier conversation. "

  • "The food was wonderful and restaurant is beautiful. We went for birthday dinner with a large group and everything was very successful. The server did mix up a few things, but that was totally understandable. Will be coming back!"

  • "We had heard about this place which is near our house and finally tried it. The food was ok at best. Completely overpriced. Corn and crab chowder lacked flavor. My main course lacked flavor- all you tasted was pepper- which I love but there was no distinct flavor. My daughter's noodles were under-cooked( not al dente, just almost raw). Maybe the chef was having a bad day but I would not return for the food. The service was excellent and the place is really nice but the food was not worth the price."
