Diner Reviews
  • "I'm a regular customer for good reason. Staff is friendly; food is great. "

  • "Sea Pearl offers a memorable dining experience. I recommend the full experience -- that is, beginning with a fine wine or mixed drink, choosing an appetizer (Excellent soup!), any of the many seafood selections as the main course, and finishing the feast with a dessert. Not usually "a dessert person," I always save room for dessert when I dine at Sea Pearl! Sea Pearl Restaurant is my favorite fine-dining restaurant. And when we bring dining guests with us, Sea Pearl Restaurant becomes their favorite restaurant, too."

  • "The Sea Pearl never disappoints. The menue is unique and the food excellently prepared. Service is friendly and attentive. "

  • "Sushi Rolls Were Great. Some Of The Best In NOVA. Fun, Energetic AmbieNce And Our Waiter Was Great. My Only Criticism Is That The Drink Menu Could Be A Bit More Varied. A Few More Specialty Cocktails (Without GInger!) Would Be Nice. "

  • "This is definitely a spot that could overcharge for its special ingredients, but doesn't in order to create a menu that is diverse and not a huge hit on the pockets. The food is always great, and you can even make a special dinner out of the appetizers and sushi menu if you'd like. "

  • "I love this restaurant. The food is good. I am still waiting for the chef to bring the Shrimp Mac & Cheese back to the menu. It was my favorite dish. Brian is the best waiter (although the other waiters are good too). Just wish their was more parking in the building. It is really nice to walk in after a long week and just be able to sit, relax with a drink, say Hi to the owner, be taken care of by kind and attentive staff and enjoy a good meal. "

  • "I almost never make comments on surveys but this time I have to. I planned what I thought would be a romantic evening to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, but a few service and kitchen mishaps made this night a disaster. First, our server who never introduced himself, forgot to bring us bread, brought us the wrong orders making us wait an additional 25 minutes to get the food, and ignored the special birthday request I made via open table and again when I called and spoke to someone prior to our arrival. I ended up complaining to the manager. Our total originally was $89 for a meal that seemed to be worth about $30 particularly after si check lousy service. We will never return."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish at this suburban Virginia restaurant. The food and the service were great."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "Several items on the menu we ordered were not available after we had ordered them. The waiter should have told us how big the sushi orders were for appetizers. We ordered way to much."

  • "So I went to Sea Pearl on a Wednesday night around 9 PM. Later than my standard and in a different section of town. I was seated immediately and given several great sounding recommendations by the server. I settled on the tonkatsu ramen and waited with some jasmine tea. It was clear to me that the crowd at this establishment was very diverse, a birthday party, a quiet older couple, but the real excitement came from the party adjacent to me. The leader of which was spitting tobacco chew into a kid's cup usually reserved for milk. Classy. The tonkatsu was flavorful but not nearly what you would expect if you went to a spot with ramen cred. Reasonable but a miss overall."

  • "Next to the Theater, so a great location, consistently above average food, solid service. Overall a well run restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Reasonable menu and drink prices."

  • "As always, the sushi was perfect. Great menu selection, something for everyone."

  • "Food was a good mix of Asian fusion. For example a sweetbread (ris de veau) with tuna in sushi. We enjoyed the strange combination. The lobster crepe was also great and their signature dish the Chilean sea bass. We also enjoyed their specialty drinks were fun and I enjoyed the ginger splash. Nothing was bad, but the desserts were weaker than the rest. I cannot recommend the banana split."

  • "We really enjoyed our server. His name was Earl. He had a great sense of humor, was attentive, sold the food, and made us laugh."

  • "This restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, but the food wasn't spectacular. Our waiter was amazing, attentive, keep the drinks full, and brought the food fast. The food itself for lunch at least was decent, but again...nothing extraordinary and not many options to chose from. From the pricing and location, I hope they expand their lunch menu. Especially the portion sizes. Will try here again for dinner."

  • "I ate here last week with two friends. We all agreed that the food was good. However, we had some issues with the service. We had a 7:30 reservation. Around 9:15/9:30, the waiter brought our check. We were chatting and finishing up our wine. Several minutes later, he came back and informed us that we really had to settle up our check, as the restaurant closed at 9pm. It was very strange and we did not enjoy being rushed out. We were not being particularly slow at all, just trying to enjoy our night out. Although the waiter was apologetic, he was still pushing us out at the same time. The food at Sea Pearl is not inexpensive, and the experience left us all feeling that we will not be returning to Sea Pearl anytime soon."

  • "This was my first visit so I was very nervous since I recommended it to my husband and neighbors. The menu looked too tempting to pass up. Much to my relief the experience was a winner. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding! It was a quiet Monday evening so though we arrived early we were seated promptly. It's in the new Mosaic area of Falls Church so parking was free in the garage right next to the restaurant. We met the manager (one of the four sisters of the same name restaurant) who was quite gracious. We can't wait to return. It will be hard to try something other than the firecracker sushi, the fried oysters appetizer and the beet salad which were all just perfect!"

  • "Our party tried the sushi and the special rolls for the first time and it was excellent! Consistently good food, service, ambiance and a great place to enjoy dinner with friends. We look forward to going again soon."

  • "Tried the Chilean sea bass first time there and I can see why it's the specialty. Amazing! Perfect texture and the sauce is nice and spicy. Great cocktails and special desserts too! The passion fruit creme brûlée and brûlée banana split with lavender ice cream are delicious."

  • "Great food - from appetizers to desserts! Seafood cooked to perfection. I'm never disappointed when I eat at this restaurant."

  • "food and service were very good, selections were appropriate and served hot. A bit more noise than I would have liked, limiting conversation. We were seated immediately even though we we about 30 minutes early for our reservation."

  • "Sea Pearl remains one of our favorite restaurants. It never disappoints. I had the Fisherman's Stew, which was a real bargain (at $30) with an abundance of lobster, shrimp, mussels and fish. My wife had the scallops which were wonderful."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "The ambience is very good and service was impeccable as was our meal. I had the bronzino, a fish I didn't know, and was first-rate."

  • "This place serves awesome food! Everyone in my party loved what they got. The sushi is fresh, the fish (Monk and Bass) was done perfectly and the scallops were to die for. Also, the short ribs...forget about it...meat falls right off the bone. And the wait staff...professional and personable during the entire dining experience. I've been there numerous times and every experience is just so pleasant. The restaurant is spacious and the noise level is just right."

  • "I chose Sea Pearl as my birthday dinner location after looking over the menu while I was at the Mosaic District to eat at a great if much less costly location (Panera) and thought, I'd love to come here for a luxury occasion. I have no regrets upon having done so. The food is amazingly good, combining the familiar (sushi rolls, fresh seafood) in very surprising and creatively enjoyable ways. It was the best kind of gourmet meal: satisfying without causing an overstuffed sensation. And the décor is very well-done, mixing high-tech and hand-crafted designs. I give Sea Pearl an "A" overall and my only suggestion to improve anything there is this: the restaurant should have a little more lighting in the corridor where the restrooms are. Thanks!"

  • "The service was so bad that it put a damper on anything else. The waiter was frustrated that my group didn't immediately know what we wanted to order and didn't hide it. He kept walking away while we were trying to talk to him. The food is good- I always like asian fusion- but for the price, I would rather go somewhere where the wait service wasn't downright rude."

  • "It was great food, service and atmosphere. The noisy bar is apart from the large dining area which was great- we could actually hear each other. There was not one complaint from our group of 8. We were impressed! We plan to go back."

  • "Very good fish stew, just the right amount of heat. Mussels were a good blend of Asian influence in the sauce."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "We were looking for a nice restaurant in Northern Virginia to celebrate having a sitter! My swordfish was excellent, my spouse's lobster a bit bland however. Originally seated at a table en route to kitchen. Waiters passed over my head twice in a very short span. Our waiter was accommodating in finding us a different spot. However, there were some far better locations but for whatever reason we were not offered them even though they sat vacant the entire dinner. Water and wine service was very good and I enjoyed a restaurant with very few little ones that evening. This is the third time I have tried this restaurant and will most likely return. I'll just have to be more specific about table location."
