Like any restaurant while some dishes flop, when he hits it in on the mark, it is amazing. His sushi and ceviche are so inventive. The tempura spinach is the local version of the good stuff at Raskia, he also does red meat well and every lamb dish there has been amazing, The sea bass (skewers or main dish) are great. Raw oysters are good and so are the fried oysters with the pico de gallo (and I don't like fried oysters) Steve the bartender/waiter is great at recommendations and we never sit anywhere but in his bar area (there are tables there too) It is no 2941 or Marcels but its a step up from most local fare in Fairfax.

The ambience was very nice, it is a beautiful restaurant visually. The seating was average in comfort, a little too 'cafeteria' for my taste, not clubby and cozy enough. But it had a nice vibe. The sushi rolls were good, but I've had better so I'm not sure if I would recommend the restaurant. I guess I would say it is a pretty restaurant, nice atmosphere, great for stopping in for a drink, the food is decent.

I've been to Sea Pearl a number of times and it's always been excellent. We had one bad service night (holiday) but our visit this time was very nice all around. Server was friendly, efficient and helpful, food was excellent. Their appetizers are always lovely and I'm especially fond of the tuna tartar. I had the softshell crab special and it was very tasty.

This is a lush, and very attractive restaurant. I've heard good things about it, but did not think it was wonderful. I had sushi luncheon (not from sushi menu), and I've had much better sushi at Whole Foods! One of my guests had the shrimp salad and told me later she did not like the flavoring of the shrimp at all. (Of course, that doesn't mean it was bad!) The other person with us had miso soup. She seemed to love it! I think she ordered right! There was a large table being served when we were there which seemed to take up all of the wait staff's attention. Everyone was very nice and helpful, but we had to ask to get attention when we needed it.

Always a solid lunch offer. Went with the Salmon burger this time which was very good. The group liked the sushi options including the yellowtail and spicy tuna. The edamame was good but seemed to be a small portion for the price. Overall a good option for the area and usually get the lobster roll.

Sea Pearl is an upscale seafood (with some Asian influences) restaurant located in Merrifield Town Center. The modern decor and great ambience enhanced our girls' night. The crab cakes were a but disappointing. They had a strong fishy taste, unlike most crab cakes I've had. However, my friend's scallops were delicious! Overall, a great restaurant for special occasions (it is on the more expensive side).

I originally found this restaurant when a couple asked me to DJ their wedding. A couple of years later, my family and I were looking for something different to eat and we took the kids, they enjoyed it and our son, who was three at the time, showed prowess in using chopsticks. This most recent visit was for a date night. When we knew the kids were going to be out of town, both of us knew we wanted to enjoy Sea Pearl again. We ordered five different sushi rolls and everything was terrific.

The trendy Falls Church location in the Mosaic district is a perfect location for this restaurant. It's only drawback is that it is on the main highway corner so the patio seating would be noisy. Otherwise, on the inside is great food and great atmosphere.

Had a fantastic dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday at Sea Pearl the other night. Food was amazing and the service was great. We had a few rolls as appetizers which were very fresh and tasty. We both had the sea bass as an entree which melted in your mouth. Would highly recommend Sea Pearl. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back often. Also to note the restaurant is right in the new Mosaic district. There was an outdoor movie playing the night we were there which was an unexpected treat and a pleasant surprise. Cool area with sidewalk coffee, gelato, clothing shops etc

Our first visit to Sea Pearl. Food was very good. Service was not so good. Our waiter tried to be cute but was just annoying. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine, and he poured the entire bottle into our glasses when he served us! We were so stunned that all we could do was just laugh when he finished! The restaurant is very large and beautiful, but was almost empty the Saturday night we were there. Not a good sign. I had the scallops, and they were delicious. My husband had the mac and cheese with shrimp and really enjoyed that too, but I doubt we will go back. Something was just off about the place.

If you want to get beyond run of the mill sushi and seafood, this is a great possibility. With our teenager out, my wife and I decided to try this - we are exploring places in the sparkly new Mosaic Center. This was not a disappointment foodwise - my wife had the sea bass, which she thought was delicious, and, it being hot, I wanted a cold dinner and had the sashimi salad and one of the many sushi rolls, all very interesting. Presentation was first class and food delicious. Service was excellent. Only drawback was that my cold food took longer to arrive than my wife's hot food, and the waiter explained they were down a sushi chef because the other one's baby had arrived early. Have to see next time if that was really the case.

We dined at Sea Pearl on Sunday evening and everything was fantastic. The server was attentive and very helpful with recommendations, the food was superb, and the ambiance was nice. It's on the pricey side with entrees around $30 but it's worth it. Only downside- we were seated by the windows and they were absolutely filthy- pretty unappetizing whenever we looked outside (inside the restaurant everything was spotless though!)

This was our first time at Sea Pearl. We went for brunch on Father's Day and they didn't have their normal brunch menu, which was a shame because the special Father's Day menu didn't have any small plate dishes, which were the reason we had chosen Sea Pearl. I loved the decor and the server was attentive, but the food was lacking. My stuffed french toast wasn't "stuffed"—there was just a thin smearing of what looked like jam in between the two pieces of bread—and the edges were blackened. Neither of my companions were happy with their meals, either, and my boyfriend actually said that my stuffed brunch toast was better than his smoked salmon benedict.
