We had a very pleasant dining experience. The menu had many interesting selections. The food was excellent, the service was professional and attentive. The room was very nicely done. We would certainly return. Our only complaint was that the noise level was a little too high.

Sea fire grill was excellent for my boyfriends birthday ; we had the opportunity to sit at the table in front of the fireplace which made the occasion that much speacial . Our waiter was attentive to our table as we had two young children who he cater to by making sure they had everything they needed.. Even giving them a menu to make them feel special . My boyfriend ordered the surf & turf but doesn't eat meat, they were liberal enough to remove the steak and give him an extra lobster tail . The crab cakes , lobster mac & cheese and steak were to die for . Not to mention the gracious happy birthday song they help sing to my boyfriend with the kids . Excellent experience overall.

Living in NYC, we have a wealth of wonderful restaurants in every neighborhood. Because there are so many restaurants, each one works really hard to win your patronage, by providing great service (of course coupled with great food). This seems to be a place that just does not 'get it'. Had a 7:30 reservation... arrived at 7:25.... sat down at 8:20 - and that is only because I went to the coat check to leave and the manager ran over. One thing I've learned living in NYC - restaurants genuinely respect reservation times. Not this one. Oh yes.... the food... just OK. There are so many great restaurants in New York City... why compromise?

In Manhattan one need not travel more than a block or two for an excellent restaurant. Sea Fire is 8 blocks from my office. I'll make the trip many more times as it is well worth the walk.

Superb food. Bit of snobbery at reception podium. Seating host very affable. Noise level, however, was extraordinary. Very difficult to converse across the table. Wine selected had different names on label and cork. Just a comment. Need to observe this more in future experiences. All in all, very good.

a restaurant filled with expense account corporate types, lots of loud braying at the tables. Despite a clean white decor, lights are kept very low, and given the extreme noise level, the effect is of being in a dim cave with roaring bears rather than atmospheric. Service was professional, which is only plus I can find in this place, I've had better steaks elsewhere in Midtown

The food was perfection, great service and vibe. Our only complaint is the noise level. We were a party of two on a week night. The place was packed and we could hardly hear each other even with almost yelling. The food was amazing and great service, but the noise factor would keep me thinking about returning. It would be very hard for a group of 4 to talk with each other. Also the 2 top tables are extremely close to each other. We had a reservation so we maybe lucked out with being given a 2 top against the wall. Ask for that if you don't want to sit inches away from another 2 top. Great food!

For a restaurant that offers fine seafood, they should hire a professional wait staff, or invest in training for the staff they have. At their price point level, one expects the proper place settings, attentive waiters and none of the mistakes they made during my visit.

If you want excellent seafood and you don't mind a bit of noise, Sea Fire Grill could be a good choice. Our group of six was able to enjoy conversation, once we adjusted our volume to the prevailing decibel level, so the noise level didn't interfere with our ability to have a great evening. I had delicious mussels, followed by a perfectly prepared Branzino, all washed down by an excellent Chablis. The service was enthusiastic and friendly, but could be improved by fewer interruptions and less leaning over the table for serving. We were all impressed by the high quality of the well presented and great tasting food and the restaurant's overall efficiency.

We had reservations for 7pm and weren't seated until almost 7:45pm. The food was completely lackluster. The risotto was tough. The halibut was overcooked and the ambiance felt stuffy. I would never bring a significant other here again and have had better seafood elsewhere in Manhattan.

There seems to be a trend in seafood dining -- escalating prices for quality seafood. The food was good - but more expensive than necessary. Half a dozen oysters for 22$? They're oysters - you choose the best ones, shuck them, put them over ice with some lemon and a sauce or two. They were good - but not sublime. The seafood entrees the same...good, without a doubt, but at 42 dollars an entree it seems we've hit the price ceiling. Add some wine and it's a very expensive meal had elsewhere for 30% less. That said, I enjoyed the meal. The service was great. The waiter and the bus staff and particularly the two managers who came over to see if we were enjoying our meal. It's a good place for sure; maybe on an expense acct.

Maybe it was an off night but the food here was really average at best. There is quite a lot of meat on the menu, and I think that they are better at that then the fish. The plates and combinations were unimaginative. All the fish that we had at our table was overcooked. They were out of several different bottles of wine that we requested, even though they were all quite different. Everyone that helped us was very nice and very accommodating. The waiter was very attentive, really good. The food was just nothing special.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. Everything on the menu is beautifully prepared and presented. I had the oysters Rockefeller and you could still taste the freshness of the oysters. I also had the salmon which was perfectly cooked with the crispy skin up and the flesh just cooked enough, all on a bed of lentils and parsnips. Staff is old school polite.

From the warm greeting at the door to appetizers that are not only tasty but creative- this is fab. You can order seafood so fresh you would think you were on the boat where it was just caught. Like the red meat, no problem world class steaks a la Benjamin's on premisis. Do what we do - order a steak and a swordfish and share. It is undoubtedly the best surf and turf you will find. My favorite in the city.
