Offering seasonally focused, contemporary American seafood, where only the finest and freshest seafood is highlighted.   • "We arrived for our 7:30 dinner reservation to find the bar area and dining room busy and unbelievably noisy. While this is sadly true for most NYC restaurants, Sea Fire Grill is one of the worst we've experienced. We asked for a quiet table. I don't think it exists. With just 4 of us we had to shout to hear one another and often ask one friend to repeat herself to understand what she was saying. Lip reading came in handy. This ruined our experience. The food was very good and the manager could not have been nicer or more sympathetic. Service was just adequate as they were quite busy. I had an early, noon, lunch here that was terrific as the restaurant wasn't too full and there wasn't a busy, loud bar scene."

We were finally seated between two halves of a large group, that proceeded to go back and forth, table to table. Really, no one should have been seated there. We were offered a complimentary after dinner drink, but we didn't want another drink after we had to cool our heels in the bar for 40 minutes. Too little, too late. It was unacceptable."

  • "I was looking for a restaurant for my family. We were on vacation and it was close to our hotel. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing! All four of us ordered a different fish and each one was better than the next. We passed our plates so we all could share! Our waiter recommended a great wine at a reasonable price and even celebrated our trip with a round of drinks with our dessert!"

  • "My hubby and I are in new York for the weekend. It's not very many seafood b spots near by but our concierge recommended Seaford Grill. We arrived an hour before reservation but was able to be seated early. Our waiter was knowledgeable and good. I ordered the salmon which was good and ordered a steak. He said the steak was not best he had but was tasteful. Crab cakes were good. I would go back again."

  • "Reservation via open table went perfect, we were welcomed and only asked to wait 2 minutes for the table to be ready, very nice menu mostly seafood obviously, we had the seafood linguini the dark seabass of the day and one sirloin and all was really very tasty, no so often we do not leave anything in the plate. Service is numerous and quick, unfortunatly it is so noisy, almost incredible as soon as you open the door the noise is all you notice, very low ceiling and large group business table enjoying the wine..., we were put on a side and managed to talk a bit between us almost shouting though, we were out quickbecause of that, high price because of quality and location."

  • "We went here not knowing that the profile of the restaurant is much more family-oriented than we thought. Upon arrival we were seating between two family tables. One had 4 teenagers and 2 smaller children, the other had a baby. As you can imagine, it was not the experience I was looking for when taking my girlfriend out for a romantic occasion. One of the teenagers across from me managed to take something close to 400 pictures with flash during our meal. The food is good and service is good however. It is very "old world"-style, as in not modern. So if you like that style and have a family, this is a great place to go."

Bar area is small but cozy, dining area stretches deep. the waiters there are excellent, informative and considerate. For food, i highly recommend scallop for appetizer, if you want raw oyster, you'd better order a dozen for 2 pl."

The only thing this restaurant lacks is an identity. There are so many similar spots around, nothing quite stood out to me as a WOW. Extremely unique and very unususual (especially for New York City!). The Bronzino was good but it was on top of a crunchy salad and the mix of the 2 detracted from the delicate taste of the fish. The tuna tartare had no flavor. I won't be going back."

  • "I was looking forward to Sea Fire but was so disappointed. The service was mixed. Our back staff was fabulous. Our waiter -- not so much. We had a 20 min wait between when our entree was cleared and when he asked if we would like dessert; my companion asked for vanilla ice cream instead of red velvet -- and the dessert came with ... red velvet. Even when he didn't eat it the waiter never acknowledged the issue and was so absent we couldn't send it back. Our appetizers were actually quite good - Oysters Rockefeller and Crab Cakes. Our entrees were not. The surf & turf (at $74) had an under seasoned filet and an overcooked lobster pieces (1/2 tail and two class). My filet - ordered medium rare was overcooked and laking any flavor."

The first evening my daughter had steak, at a seafood place I selected something else for here; she is (very!) consious to what was accepted on the plate in front of here. I had the halibut and was not disappointed. But when I saw the steak my daughter was served, and the way she consumed the content on the plate, I decided to pay a visit the following evening. That was not a straight forward choice being a consious dinner family visiting NY with an endless list of places to eat, just in the blocks surrounding the area we stayed at had several places we wanted to try. That 2. evening we all 4 had steaks; it was outstanding. So was the service, with the staff keeping busy to ensure our best."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our 12thyr Wedding Anniv in this Restaurant for the 1st time. We've been searching for an extra nice and special place to dine in. And finally, I was able to find Sea Fire Grill and no regrets! Kinda pricey but definitely worth it. We really love the crab cake, calamari and filet mignon not to mention my linguine pasta with seafood. Rolland gave us the best service and he's realy nice and accomodating server. Will definitely come back here!"

The staff was attentive and the food delicious, from the appetizer to dessert. When we left, the maître d' presented my husband with a father's day gift of a gift certificate to use on a future visit. We definitely will do so when we return to NYC at the end of the month."
