  • "As locals(Coronado),dined at Sea180 several mo.ago. The food then was great,esp.the Branzino.We recommended it to out of towners July4 wkend.They ordered theBranzino that we had raved abt.They were quite disappointed though as they received a tiny fish, NOT LIKE WE DESCRIBED.Thought maybe it was an off nite.When friends from LittleItaly wanted to try it last wkend,went back with them.2of our party ordered the Branzino. One was full of bones, was sent bk.for replacement.But itNEVER arrived and was taken off bill.The second one was 1/3 the size of what we originally had. Not enough meat,all head and tail.What happened? Either it's not 'Branzino season' or the restaurant has majorlycut back. We left hungry,frustrated and embarrassed."

  • "we live in IB fir the past 30 year we have seen some good restaurant come and go in IB. SEA 180 has really hit the mark. The food was great the service was great. I like the range of beers served. I like ambience of the place it had a good feel. 5 star service but still a place you don't need or feel you have to dress up. but if you want that is OK also I like the vintage wood siding flooring and table. great job keep it going."

  • "This place inside of a hotel has a phenomenal view of the ocean and was well worth the hour drive from Escondido to Imperial Beach. The drinks were very good and cutting edge--we had Apple Jacks, Blue Gooses, Spiced Watermelon Drops, Green Flashes, and Pineapple Mojitos--all good and original. The food was even better--the ground lamb sliders were fantastic, the arugula and baby beets were also quite good as starters. As the main course, the wagyu burger and the grilled king salmon were both outstanding. I would highly recommend this place as long as some people in other parts of San Diego County were willing to go on quite a drive."

  • "Incredible ocean view. Brussels are some of the best in town, tuna tacos have a unique mushroom pairing and were also wonderful. Scallops seared to perfection. Drinks were a tad slow, but overall, bravo!"

  • "We ate at Sea 180 three times in January, soon after it opened, and the food was wonderful. We're back in San Diego and went last night for dinner. We won't be back in a hurry. The brussel spouts appetizer was so overcooked that it was impossible to tell what it was - it tasted like burnt shredded leaves. I'd had the appetizer three times in January and it was wonderful. We had the whole brazino fish and it was much smaller than we had the three times before in January. Lastly, the chocolate cake with bacon had large clumps of bacon in it, rather than the light "salting" of bacon we remembered from January. Perhaps the chef was different last night? It was clearly an "off" night for the food. The one exception was the ravioli - very good."

  • "Second time here, first for dinner with friends and recently for breakfast/brunch. The food and service on both occasions was excellent. The interior atmosphere is warm and roomy with a 180 degree sea view for all, outdoor dining is beachside. Great menu and cocktail selection. Breakfast is only available till 11AM."

  • "We were amazed to find the Cohn Brothers had opened a restaurant in Imperial Beach? We live in Chula Vista and although there are perfectly decent places to eat down here there isn't anything really fancy, appropriate for really special meals. (Actually Romesco in Bonita is pretty special!) Our server, Joey was aware of our birthday and anniversary and took wonderful care of us. The view of the ocean from the restaurant is really quite nice. It doesn't have that terrible noise level that many of these trendy warehouse space restaurants have where you have to scream to have a conversation. We started with the arugula and beet salad which we split. Delicious. For our entree we had the scallops which were cooked perfectly. A great evening."

  • "The French Dip sandwich was very good and very small. The Fish & Chips were awful as were some of their mixed drinks. We sat at an outside table shaded from the afternoon sun but located right next to the bussing station. Very noisy and hot. Will not return."

  • "You will never find a more fun place or a better staff in San Diego. But the filet was just plain awful. Closer to sirloin then to filet. Bone dry and tasteless. Their second effort wasn't much better, The staff did everything to make it better but this must have been a VERY old cow! Still worth the visit and we'll go again, all the other food was top notch. Prices were also reasonable. And the view was amazing."

  • "Another fine Cohn restaurant! Not only on the sand, but good food to eat as well - a rarity in SD County. Service was outstanding. We 3 ordered several courses and threw a lot of instructions at our wait staff, and they were great in execution. Loved the crab cakes and duck quesadilla. Whole Branzino fish was so fresh, and nice for sharing light entree, but not very meaty. Didn't love the rock cod soup though - too smoky and one dimensional, no seafood taste. Great herb fries. Delicious roasted brussel sprouts - I know, they are everywhere, but these were really good. No bread for table -bummed but understand why. Ate inside at window, some glare before sunset. Think this location will be perfect later in year when it's cooler."

  • "Cohn restaurant group always puts out a pretty good meal. The view is oversold owing to the large outdoor patio that effectively blocks it. Noise is a problem from the bar. Overly dark interior is not particularly attractive."

  • "Chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration. My husband had called ahead to confirm our reservation and to let the staff know we were celebrating a birthday. The hostess who answered wasn't sure they did anything special except maybe a free desert but to ask the waiter. Our table was amazing outside with a view. Service was incredibly slow and the food was just ok, especially for the price. I would only go back for cocktails and the view."

Although we sat inside the dining room and not on the patio, the view was still very nice and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset. This would be a great place to have Happy Hour with friends as well - I'll definitely be back!"

  • "My mom went for lunch and loved it. We booked reservations on a Sunday for 2:30 p.m. It was "social hour" so we could not eat off the lunch menu. However, the mussels were to die for. The restaurant is practically on the sand. It felt like we were in Hawaii. Will definitely be back to try the lunch menu."

  • "We recently enjoyed a birthday celebration for our parents at Sea180. What a fantastic place! Excellent food, superior service, impressive views… The restaurant is located right next to the hotel pool and guests walk up to the bar window to order their drinks. I suppose at a beach resort, your eyes are subject to many different "sights" that you may or may not want to view during your meal - so I would suggest that the hotel line the glass wall with taller plants to provide some sort of privacy and to give restaurant patrons a reprieve from unappealing sights. I can imagine many an appetite being soured upon the views of disrobed skin."

My entree, the Shrimp and Farro, was really very good... others at the table were also happy with the exception of one in our group who did not enjoy the Firecracker Roll. If I was in the area again, this would be the spot I would return to."

  • "This is our 5th lunch at this beachfront, sophisticated hotel restaurant. It's becoming our go-to hangout in Chula Vista, CA. Good service, great view, and delectable real food like perfect scallops perched on rice croquette with bacon jam...lamb sliders, bison/pork meatballs. We had enjoyed duck carnaditas as a snack on previous visits. Good wine list. Parking on side of hotel and underground valet parking."

  • "We shared a half order of the Garlic Herb Flatbread (2.95); we both had the French Dip Beef Sandwich (15.95) - Carmelized onions (just a few), green chilis, blue cheese (couldn't taste it on the first go-round), chimichurri, mini baguette (really just a French roll), garlic fries and some kind of slaw (that was essentially tasteless) and, au jus needed salt; I had a glass of the Cune Rosado (8.5 oz pour ($9.5 on the ,menu and the web site but charged $11). We both agreed: just marginal; i.e., so, probably not worth the drive and definitely not without a BOGO."

  • "Our party of four had a fine dining experience. The moderate "noise" was actually the soothing sound of waves. Since I hate noisy restaurants, our outdoor seating at Sea 180 was a breath of fresh air in this regard (and literally). My King salmon was very good, beautifully cooked. And, my sister and niece enjoyed their calamari in olive pesto sauce and crab cakes, respectively. I much appreciated the waitperson's attentiveness to my gluten sensitivity and the chef's willingness to substitute salad for the corn and gluten-containing grain typically served with the salmon. The three adults would have sat longer just to enjoy the ambiance had it not been for my great nephew clamoring to go play on the beach and the playground!"

The view is incredible, you are right in the sand and have a view of the whole coast. It's someplace I would recommend and go back anytime..............."

  • "The building is a new, modern Marriott Hotel which replaced the old hotel. The restaurant is run by the people who own and run the Prado restaurant in Balboa Park. The building is beautiful, the view is very good, the restaurant is excellent, but the noise level is too high to allow conversation or complete enjoyment!"

  • "I about 20min late for my reservation (I called to informa head of time) and they were accomodating. The server we had was very nice and was attentive for the most part. I ordered the Wagyu cheeseburger Medium and it came medium well and slightly burnt on the outside. Aside from the bacon jam, it was pretty tasteless. The brussell sprouts and mac and cheese was really good. Wonderful view of the water! They have fireglass pit tables out there which was nice, but it was so windy, the flames shot out past the table..not very safe. Service can be slow. Apple crisp dessert nothing to write home about."

I've had many beautiful dining experiences at their other restaurants and was excited and looking forward to trying this new restaurant since it opened. The drinks took a little longer than I'm used to but were very good. The presentation of dishes was amazing and the view and ambiance incredible. Unfortunately the flavors of the appetizers or entrees were not impressive to us. The best part of the night was the dessert drinks."
