Scratch features American cookery in an elegant setting. The cuisine is based on the premise of simple food done well and draws from American classics reflecting today's influences and bounty of ingredients. Choose from a tender moist braised short rib, rotisserie chicken, or perhaps a selection from our fresh seafood and oyster bar.

For beverages Scratch has researched some of the finest vineyards and distilleries in the United States. We have a wide variety of wines and spirits to choose from in all price ranges. Some of our wine and spirits are highly allocated and will not always be available.

Scratch also offers a vegetarian menu.

  • "We have been to Scratch many times now and will keep going back. I almost always order the fried chicken, so good. Also, they change their soups daily and even when their daily soup is something that wouldn't normally excite me (for example, this time it was beef with barley), they always amaze me and I'm so glad I ordered it! Service is always friendly and timely. Again, consistently excellent."

  • "I have been to Scratch a few times and it never seems to disappoint. The service is always good and the food is consistently tasty. What I like most about the place is a wide variety of spirits, some of which are hard to find (trust me, I've tried) that I can enjoy here with my dinner. The bartenders also know how to make a good cocktail with any of the spirits they have. I haven't asked for their suggestions but next time I may put myself at their mercy and see what magic they come up with for me."

  • "I was in town on business and wanted to have a nice dinner. The staff was friendly and made me feel welcome even though it was just me. The food, everything i ate, was AMAZING. I had oysters along with my lavender brandy sidecar (that was a truly fantastic drink), and then ate the special, which was Alaskan Halibut and had the Brussels Sprouts on the side. I would highly recommend Scratch if you're up for a nice dinner and friendly service."

Server was timely with courses and drinks - a bit awkward when it came to menu/drink suggestions, he seemed a bit unfamiliar with what was available. Overall, I will most definitely be coming back! Tofu entree from the vegetarian menu, must have that tofu again."

  • "What a lovely evening we had with friends at Scratch. The waiters were attentive, didn't bat an eye when someone asked for a major ingredient change, and were kind when we lingered over dessert for longer than average. The booth tables are long and make it awkward for servers to reach across to the inner diners, but the booths are cozy and attractive and so it's worth the trouble. I love the ahi with pineapple rice!"

  • "Normally I have a great experience at Scratch, so much so that I took my girlfriend who was visiting. Normally the experience is amazing but the service this particular night was awful. Our waiter asked if we had questions about the menu but didn't bother taking our drink order. When he took our drink order, he disappeared and another waiter came and asked to take our drink order. Neither of these waiters brought our drink order, we had to ask a busser to get our drinks for us. The kitchen didn't know where table to take our food to, so we watched the server wander. The waiters we had spoke spanish to each other the entire time and didn't let us know what was going on. Food was great thankfully!"

  • "We lost our server after we were served our lunch. Never to be seen again. I had noted in the reservation we were celebrating a birthday, but he never recognized our special occasion. I wanted to order dessert, but no one asked. We had to ask for our check after our server had been missing 10+ minutes. A favorite place, but terribly disappointed."

  • "After searching through many yelp reviews, decided to give this place a try to Valentines Day (it was the 15th). So happy we wound up here. The restaurant had a great feel to it-- nice enough to pull off a fancy date, but not stuffy. Modern yet cozy atmosphere. The staff was all very helpful. Our server was a bit over-the-top, but I'm assuming he was newer and still trying REALLY hard. Can't complain about that-- you could tell he really wanted to do his job well. Food was all GREAT. We had the lobster? soup and bacon wrapped dates as apps. The dates were DELICIOUS. Both entrees were good-- we didn't have one item we didn't really enjoy. (and we're both in the "foodie" category, so basic dishes would have not impressed us)"

Fourth service was never removed from table (only 3 at table for dinner); waiter forgot to bring new utensils until reminded; empty drink glasses not removed until well into the dinner.   • "Met my sister for an early dinner, and was pleasantly surprised by not only the decor and service, but the food was amazing. Lobster and Filet to die for!! When we got there the place was pretty empty, 4:30pm, but by the time we left, 8:00pm, the place was hopping with people, on a Tuesday night. The noise level definitely increased as the evening went on, but we stayed at the bar and enjoyed our visit, drinks and food!! I will definitely be going back."

  • "Love love love love love this restaurant. Extensive vegetarian menu for my daughters, which is a huge plus, with interesting, tasty foods that mirror the main menu. Brunch is diverse and delicious; dinner is always excellent. The name denotes that everything is made from scratch, and the food reflects that kind of care. It is well presented, tasty, delicious, interesting and there is literally something for every taste on the menu. The brunch staff is a bit spotty, I think they train new waiters during brunch. But overall, we go back often b/c this is such a terrific restaurant. And though it's a 'neighborhood gem" we drive for 20 minutes to get there (without traffic) and are never disappointed."

  • "I've been to Scratch twice. On the first visit, food was excellent and the service very good. We had their Cuban Pork sandwich which was delicious but a bit too spicy for comfort for me. We also had their chicken sandwich which was very good. On the second visit, the pan-roasted chicken was very tasty and so was the truffle mushroom flatbread. The portions were quite generous. The brownie Sundae was outstanding. We couldn't have enough of it. The pear cobbler, however, can be improved. The pear needed a bit more cooking. The service on the second visit was uneven. We had to ask for bread after noticing that the other tables had it. We had to keep looking for our server--first to ask for bread and then dessert."

  • "Not a good experience. I was disappointed to find that the wonderful breakfast panini was not available even though it is still listed on the website menu. Trying to get a similar item I asked for scrambled eggs with ham, cheese and tomatoes. Whole wheat toast. No potatoes, please. What I got was a scramble with ham, bacon, cheese and lots of potatoes mixed in. Accompanying this were three pieces of blackened toast. Our waiter did not return for quite a while. When I complained he said he'd get the manager. No manager arrived. No one offered to change anything. Or asked if I wanted something else. After another twenty minutes the waiter returned and said I would not be charged for my meal. Just for my coffee. I went home hungry."

  • "I went to Scratch on a weekday afternoon. Breads were excellent, appetizers were very good. Portion size is inconsistent. My mom had the Shrimp Louie salad, which was huge (sadly, dressing was too sour for her), and I had the Cobb, which was teeny tiny (but delicious). Others had hot entrees, which were all generous portions. The hot dishes fared better than the salads. Short rib ravioli was fantastic, and mushroom flatbread was very good as well. Service was slow - they took almost 20 minutes to take our order, even though the dining room was not full. Servers did not check on us often enough, so a dropped fork took too long to replace. Good enough for another visit and a chance to redeem themselves though. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could."

  • "We had a group dinner for 7 last Saturday, and the bill came out to be close to $600! Food was good, but beware of the price tag! The main courses were reasonable, but watch out for the dessert ($17 for Boston cream pie) and wine cost - very high. They also automatically added 20% gratuity to our bill - ouch!!! Not a place I would dine often."

  • "We were celebrating our daughter's engagement with a party of 8 and the service was very disappointing. Twice, the 'bride to be' had to wait for her food. Her entree came out a good 10 minutes after everyone else had their food and then her dessert took about 15 minutes. The waiter didn't charge us for her dessert but that's not really the point. So, what should have been an excellent dinner was marred by problems with the kitchen getting the food out. We spent a lot of money and I'm disappointed that I choose this restaurant for this special meal."
