  • "If you want to taste fresh seafood around Palo Alto and not paying too much, this is your place. It has a good quality-price rate. Good and fast service, and healthy food (don't miss the almond halibut). The place was a little bit cold for my standard."

  • "My dining companion had a drink at the bar as she waited for me - was told by the bartender that items on the bar menu could be ordered in the dining room. When we tried to order one item from the bar menu, the waiter immediately said no, then insisted on knowing who had given her that information. He went to check, came back and with no hint of an apology that we had been given misinformation, flatly said that bar menu items can't be ordered in the dining room. For the rest of the meal, he was less than friendly and the service was careless, e.g.my friend asked for the uneaten portion of her meal to go, and the box was dumped in front of me. I've eaten at Scott's many times but I doubt that we will be returning."

  • "My elderly Parents and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Scotts Seafood Restaurant. The food was great and even hot on arrival to the table., the waitress was very helpful, the noise level was moderate and we could hear each other talk....Very much enjoyed by all..... The host was very kind to take my father's walker and let me know where to find it following dinner. We will definitely be going back to Scotts!!!!"

  • "I have been to scotts in San Jose before which is very vibrant and cheerful staff. The server was stiff. With the valley on the rise again like the dotxom days I guess they don't care they are going to get business anyways. So not my first choice there are much better alternatives in PA but my customer wanted seafoodso ended up at Scotts. Uummnnnn probably will only go if there is no other choice."

  • "I was shopping by myself and decided to eat outside for lunch. I was seated outside. Lovely day, cool breeze, fabulous salad! My waiter was very friendly and helpful. My daughter and I went back for dinner. Had a another great experience. Sat inside this time. Totally different experience, but great. Ordered the seafood sautée (waitress said was house specialty) and daughter got a steak. All was wonderful!!! Would recommend both!"

  • "The fish and chips here rival my favorite at A Salt and Battery in Manhattan's West Village. So great knowing that I don't have to hold out till another 3,000 mile trip to satisfy my craving!"

  • "As a dinner experience for special occasions it is just right. Our group was cared for with fast service in a relaxed environment. Food was a notch above. Our server was fast and efficient and it was just what we needed as we were in and out in an hour and on to another activity."

  • "My son graduated from Stanford and we wanted close restaurant. I was hesitant at first since I see Scott's as a chain restaurant. Well, we were very impressed. The food was outstanding and no where near a chain style menu or service! My son said his steak was the best he's had at a restaurant. My daughter and I had the Seafood Saute, which was very tasty. It wasn't buttery and had a nice cream/garlic flavor....excellent and plenty of seafood too! My wife had the salmon and she loved it as well. If you want a nice restaurant and not pay the downtown Palo Alto prices, with great food, wine, and service come here. We will be back when in Palo Alto."

  • "Party of five, quickly seated and orders taken. Had one misstep, incorrect salad brought for my mother in law but quickly remediated with a new, correct plate being brought. Second time we've been here. Both times we were pleased we had chosen to eat here."

  • "We had lunch on a Saturday and selected from the "Brunch" menu, which was just fine...many choices if one wanted breakfast (eggs, etc) or lunch (salads,, entrees, etc.) We had salads and Minosas. I love sitting in a comfortable booth, which we did, and having a rather quiet environment (no loud music and no screamers)....very nice. We go there often."

  • "We were 3 people having lunch at Scott's in Palo Alto. The food was good, it was quiet and we could have a quiet conversation. The only issue with the place is finding parking in the Town and Country center during lunch hour."

  • "Thank you for making our 30th Wedding Anniversary dinner go flawlessly. We both thoroughly enjoyed the whole dining experience. Our waiter was very attentive and congenial, and the food was superb! Our only regret was that we filled up on our appetizers and dinners so we couldn't find room for dessert! Thank you again!"

  • "After 6 years out of the US I was happy to come back to Scott's seafood in Pa lo Alto. Everything was great food , quality , wine, service. I will add one point that need to be mentionned: the taste of the raw oisters that I did not appreciate. I have asked not to wash it and to let it be just oppened, but there was no salty taste as this shell grown into the sea should have as usual. May be this is due to the fact that they may let the oister in a non salty water.I do not know the answer."

  • "Nice to have a live band playing blues and jazz while we enjoyed seafood. I had various seafoods stir fried and my husband had scallop salad. The scallops were excellent. Food was a bit too salty - leave out the salt and let people add it. Had ceviche to start with and my husband had a salad. Bread was fresh and plentiful. Good service."

  • "We have eaten at Scott's 3 times and have always had great experiences. This was the first time I ordered the Seafood Sauté.....it was GREAT! My husband likes his salmon very rare (which most restaurants don't do)...it was cooked perfectly for him. We ordered the Popcorn Shrimp as an appetizer and they were wonderful too...served crispy and hot. I highly recommend Scott's for a great meal. "

  • "This restaurant is a best kept secret. We went for the seafood and received perfection. We enjoyed the special wild salmon served over a brussel sprouts/cabbage/broccoli/bacon sauté; the seafood sauté of scallops, prawns and crab with green beans and rice; and the Ahi Tuna. The drinks were fun and delicious. And the wait staff very attentive and quick. Love the naturally bright and open atmosphere. This may be my new local favorite."

  • "My friend and I had a most enjoyable time at Scott's before going to a concert at the Stanford's Bing. The waiter was very attentive and enabled us to have an enjoyable time before receiving the check and departing on time for the concert."

  • "Years ago I use to crave Scott's Seafood in Jack London square - the seafood sauté was killer. I found this Scott's and I was not disappointed. The shrimp crab appetizer was delicious. The shrimp sauté was fresh and full of favor. My guests had the salmon and the jambalaya. They loved it! Service was great. The only reason I'm doing 4 stars - the salads. I love salad but these were flavorless. I even ordered more dressing for the spinach salad - nada - no taste. I would return - just would not order the salads. "

  • "We arrived on time. They seated us immediately. Was greeted nicely by the staff. The service was really slow and it wasn't that busy. We had to flag down a waiter to take our order. It turns out we didn't have a waiter assigned to that table. So we just used any waiter that went by our table. It all worked out good. The food was good. I will be going back."

  • "With high prices, one would expect service to match the same, but were very disappointed with the level of service throughout: the hostess neglected to tell us to follow her..she began trotting away, the waiter when asked if we could get the hot water that went with the beautiful array of teas said, "I'll be right with you," as more than 7 minutes had passed, then, an unsold-out venue with some empty tables...it took forever to get our food which was good, but we even had to request bread!"

  • "The food was really good. We had 10 people for our group and I specifically asked for something special because it was for Mother's Day. We showed up and was led to a private room in the back. The food had really nice presentation, great tastes for appetizers as well. Overall, staff was very attentive. Restaurant is a romantic spot with vintage touch. Loved it!!"

  • "Went here for the first time ever, my sister had recommended this restaurant for her birthday since she was craving seafood. Surprisingly I had never heard of Scott's Seafood before, but after checking out the menu online, I was sold. Diverse menu with many different options, not just seafood. I ordered the Petrale Sole and was not disappointed. Excellent customer service as well. If you're looking for seafood in Palo Alto/on the Peninsula, Scott's is a great way to go."

  • "Scott's has been around a long time. It consistently achieves a high standard of food quality and service. Everything on the menu is recognizable and described simply. I ordered the fish and chips this time and it was not ordinary. The fish in the batter was described as red snapper (I have a friend who would doubt this) and whatever fish it might be, it was tender, flavorful and overall delicious. The french fries were small (1 cm on a side) so there were lots of crispy surfaces to enjoy with the traditional tarter sauce, ketchup or just a little extra salt (sorry, doc). The dish of cold slaw had a variety of veges for a nice, colorful look and the dressing was excellent. Service was helpful and friendly."

  • "Over the years have enjoyed many fine meals at Scotts around the bay, but this outing was a disappointment. Highlight of the service was the chuckle we got from the waitress saying "I'm just slammed, they gave me four tables", which may be why she was MIA for 20 minutes. My wife ordered filet mignon, and while it was some cut of beef, it was a far cry from filet mignon. I ordered the salmon special, which as amazing in its ability to prevent me from eating more than a few bits even tho I was famished. At the end of the day, no one died, we contributed to Palo Alto's economy, and I had a great PBJ as soon as we got home. "

  • "I know Scott's seafood restaurants in San Jose and Mountain View. My first experience in Palo Alto restaurant says it needs more improvement than Mountain View that needs some improvement as well. I was surprised when I saw the new but family-style-restaurant interior and bright lightening. If Scott’s intended to give different flavor restaurant, it should change name with reasonable price. Oysters and clams were not so bad (normal), but crab cakes were quite different from other Scott’s. Blackened fish was better but salty and peppery. We are very disappointed. We made a reservation but found no need of it: less people, and recognized the reason soon. (We reserved this restaurant due to fully booked Mountain View Scott’s) "

  • "Our first experience with Scott's for Easter brunch was fabulous. (We've had dinner at Scott's through the years, but never tried their brunch. We requested a booth for 4 adults and had been seated at a wonderful, quiet spot. The brunch selections were varied and straightforward - not overwhelming. They had a great selection of specialty drinks for brunch as well. ( Loved the Ramos Fizzes!) The service people were accommodating and friendly. Scott's is definitely on our list for future Sunday brunches."

  • "Fish and chips, blackened-fish sandwich, prawn-and-avocado sandwich -- all good. Fish was hot enough to be interesting, but the heat didn't linger after the meal. Prawns and avocado seemed plain; ingredients are good and carry the day, but there was no extra interesting flavoring. We left the caramel off the ice-cream sundae and thought it was great (toasting the nuts is the key)."

  • "I've been to this restaurant before and had a good experience. The waiter we had this visit was terrible. I think at one point he had forgotten that we were even there. We had to ask other staff several times for our waiter to come back so we could place our dinner order. Very unprofessional. I will probably visit this restaurant again as the food is very good. I hope this was an isolated incident as this guy was just bad!"

  • "Very good seafood, friendly service, definitely recommend. Located at a busy outdoor shopping mall so ambiance is limited. There are several outdoor tables but it's not a romantic setting. Good for business meals or dining with friends."
