Scott's Seafood on the River
Excellent anniversary dinnerWonderful evening of great food and service and excellent ambiance. Highly recommended.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMScott's SeafoodThe hostess and waitresses were friendly and helpful. The special of the day was Scottish salmon prepared grilled, and served with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. I've never had such a perfectly cooked, mild and tender - crisp on the outside - fillet of salmon. It was mouthwatering and the best salmon I've ever had! The appetizers and desserts were varied and unusually good, too. I'd recommend it for anyone wanting a casual but tasteful dining experience with a perfect view of the sunset. Prepare to spend between $60 to $80 per person (including tip) for dinner with soup or salad, appetizers, main course, cocktails and dessert. A very nice place for a birthday, anniversary or other special celebration.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Summer PlaceIf the weather's not TOO warm the patio is a wonderful place for brunch, lunch or a glass of wine (never had dinner outside). Sunday was no exception....we had a glass of Schramsburg champagne followed by "splitting" two brunch entrees...the champagne was divine (of course) and both entrees were great (try the choriso bread pudding with the salmon)-- and our server was attentive but not too attentive! Whenever I'm in the mood for a good meal and good service or when entertaining clients, Scott's comes to mind...and I've never been disappointed.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great location! The atmosphere is romantic, especially if you go after dark, and the food and service is really good. My husband and I went for his birthday, and as someone who doesn't really like seafood, I still had items to choose from off the menu and I really enjoyed the steak I ordered. My husband finished his swordfish and ate some of my steak on top of it, so he liked his dinner too! Plus we shared the cheese plate that was really tasty and had a good variety of cheeses and extras like dried fruit and nuts.
We ate inside since it was 106 degrees that day, but the outdoor patio is beautiful, so I'd recommend going on a day/night when it's not too hot to sit outside.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMthoroughly enjoyed lunch! On a weekday, the service was great, scenery beautiful and the food was quite good.
Loved it. A great place to visit with friends. I was difficult to tear ourselves away!
LynnB6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch for 6I had the pasta with shrimp and it was superb. My husband has his favorite: macadamia encrusted halibut. He chose our Folsom Scott's for his birthday celebration two weeks ago.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent and Enjoyable!I'm from Monterey County and I KNOW what good clam chowder tastes like! Scotts could open up right on the wharf and compete with the best. It was tremendous. It was an enjoyable experience and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderfulWe have eaten at Scott's on the river on several occasions, usually for a date or some type of
Special occasion. The food an service have always been excellent and the view and ambiance makes us feel like
We are on vacation while staying right by home. Whether breakfast or dinner, they have a fantastic ability to make the mealtime feel special.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend from the East BayMy friend from the East Bay and I enjoyed our lunch. It was quiet, had a large booth, very helpful waitress. The Pacific Riim salad w/calamari was delicious--a large portion. The waitress was very accommodating with my girlfriend's salmon lunch w/steamed veggies.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AManniversaryMy wife and I had a wonderful dinning experience on our anniversary. I would highly recommend.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful eveningWe celebrated our friends 50th anniversary at Scott's! We enjoyed everything. The decor is beautiful and serene. One thing that we appreciated and commented on is that the tables are spaced apart enough for private conversation without hearing conversation from other tables. Of course the food was superb as was the service.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb serviceSierra was our server. She hit the perfect balance between being attentive, but not hovering over us. She picked up small signals that most servers would miss and made our dining experience an excellent one. She is a star!.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday outingWe were in the mood for seafood on the water. We went online and found this place. It was a great choice. Our server was attentive yet not overly attentive. We were glad because we were in a low key relaxing kind of mood. We ordered a few things off the food and drink menu. Our favorites were the crab bisque and calamari, we really enjoyed mixing them together. We will be returning.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunching gem.The restaurant itself is nicely appointed and designed so that even if there are large groups surrounding you, the noise level isn't overwhelming. My friends had the omelets and said they were good. I ordered the creme brulee French toast with syrup; the syrup was too sweet and ruined the dish for me. I'd recommend that you ask for the syrup on the side so that you can control the sweetness. We shared a berry crisp and the chocolate tart, both were heavenly. A note to people using online reservations: if you want to sit outside to dine, make sure you request an outside table ahead of time. This is a good place to meet up with friends for a long leisurely brunch and I'd go there again.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable Early DinnerGot to dinner just after 5 pm, and had no problem getting a nice table outside on the patio. The Ahi lettuce wrap appetizer was delicious, and the swordfish and coconut shrimp entree was equally tasty. We normally split a single meal, and find that the portions are more than generous, so we leave sated. The $2 split fee, provided more of the tasty sides, and was well worth the minimal cost. This is one of my go-to restaurants for a last minute special occasion.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOur anniversary at Scott's SeafoodMy wife and I had a very enjoyable time at Scott's Seafood on our 11th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent as always and the service was outstanding. We go there at least 3 times a year either by ourselves or with friends and always have a great time. It's a very popular restaurant and I would recommend making reservations, especially on the weekend.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have had lobster here before,We have had lobster here before, but these ones were exceptional tonight! Service great and helpful. Still one of our fav places.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's DayWe had a wonderfully relaxing, delicious mother's day brunch here. Very attentive service, fresh seafood, good variety of delicious buffet choices, including chocolate-dipped strawberries among the desserts! Afterwards, we went out back near the river and took some gorgeous family photos. Thank you so much for a memorable day! ...a grateful mom and grandma5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeWent for Mother's Day with my wife and have a good time nice view great service will repeat we love this place5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this restaurant. AlwaysI love this restaurant. Always satisfied with the food.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMmother's day dinneralways a excellent place for any occasion. you can arrive by automobile or boat.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodThe breakfast experience at Scott's was amazing. The food was awesome. Our waiter was smiley and looked happy to be working. And even had a smile for the table next to us who was more than rude and he handled himself very well.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! We went for my mom's 80th birthday. Everything was marvelous except the hostess forgot to tell the wait staff that it was her b-day so she did not get to enjoy the complimentary dessert. That was disappointing, but it was still an enjoyable experience.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe River's EdgeSitting outside, enjoying a wonderful breakfast, with a beautiful view of the Sacramento river just can't be beat. The food is very good, and our waiter was perfect. We love our get-a-way weekends to The Westin and Scott's On The River is always our restaurant choice.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden Gem on the MenuAlthough Scotts is known for their seafood, one of the best items on the menu is the Pacific Rim salad with Thai Beef. Heaven.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMService was a excellent, veryService was a excellent, very friendly staff who cateered to your needs. The food selection and taste was very good, as well. Plan to make a reservation, though as there were many special events going on the Saturday night we were there. Overall, I enjoyed the experience very much.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeThe food is always excellent at Scott's but the service is hit or miss. Our server kept forgetting to serve us. I have had better service ther before but this time the service wasn't very good. I had to ask my server for everything I wanted twice or ask a different server.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was good this time!I had a really great salad. First time I've enjoyed the food here. The setting is amazing. The service was friendly and efficient.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Good ChoiceThere were four of us, two couples. This was our third dining experience here. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Dungeness Crab Louis, and our friends loved the Bay Shrimp Louis and Wild Prawn Fettuccine. I enjoyed my Grilled Chicken Breast. It was a busy evening for the staff due to a wedding reception and the restaurant was getting full at our 7:15 pm reservation time. But everything went well, and we will be back again.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryWe celebrated our 22nd anniversary dinner here at Scott's. We have been long time customers to their Sunday brunch and Easter brunch and wanted to experience a dinner there. My husband loved his steak and lobster meal with crab cakes app and chowder. It was a very nice treat to ourselves. Thank you Scott's for the wonderful meal and enjoyable time spent.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMStrange experienceEveryone in my party chose a fish dish. Unfortunately, I chose the Fish and Chips. I was in the mood for some comfort food. I did not like my food. The fish itself was good but the breading was blah. The fries were limp, skinny things of poor quality. The sauce for the fish was bazaar tasting. I requested some plain tarter sauce. My guests, and my wife were very pleased with their Petrale Sole and Scallops. The service was extraordinary. The Fish and Chips was not. The occasion was a big deal to me, meeting friends I used to know 50 years ago. I was disappointed...... not in the friends, the food.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AM33rd Aniversary Great33rd Aniversary
Great Food with incrdible service, my Wife was still talking about how wonderful it was the next day.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I took ourMy husband and I took our daughter and her partner to Scott's Seafood on the River this past Saturday night, April 27th to celebrate our daughter's birthday. As always, everything about the experience was "beyond reproach". We had a beautiful river view (as we had requested), the service and the food was outstanding! This restaurant, without a doubt, is at the top of our list of "favorites" in the Sacramento and surrounding areas.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy fiance had the time ofMy fiance had the time of her life with the flowers being delivered to the table and the service which was above and beyond the norm.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI was extremely satisfiedI was extremely satisfied with our experience. This was our 1 year anniversary, we sat outside at 7:45 pm, the view was great, the food was hot, and fresh, and the portions were plentiful. We will surly be returning for a second time.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at Scott's and it was very good. We both had seafood dishes and they were both outstanding (sole and halibut). Service was also top notch. If I had one complaint, my martini was not cold enough. The mini desserts are a nice idea when only one person wants dessert (me, of course!). We will be back with friends or for a nice night out.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMScott's is unique for theScott's is unique for the excellent setting, especially the deck overlooking the river. We ate inside on a Sunday evening because it was a little breezy. The service was prompt and friendly. All of us were very pleased with our entrees. I will definitely visit the restaurant again, and I have told others about our great experience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I decided toMy husband and I decided to escape to the newly renovated Westin, formerly Le Rivage. Scott's on the river is located at the hotel and what a pleasure it was. The food was so fresh and delicious. My husband had the salmon and it was so moist and flavorful. I had the crab tacos, usually an appetizer, and they were very delicate but flavorful. Our server, Kaitlyn, could not have been better. She was friendly, efficient and just a very nice young woman. She always made us feel like we were her only table, which we were not. We look forward to returning.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely ambiance, deliciousLovely ambiance, delicious food, great service, once we were seated. They need to manage the large group waiting for tables as the bar was FULL and difficult to get service.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMy youngest son turned 21My youngest son turned 21 this week ans wanted to find a nice restaurant outside Davis to go to celebrate. Our waiter was very nice and attentive.
He gave Zack the typical free dessert, but also gave him a house champagne to take home. That was very nice of him. Zack appreciated it. We sat outside with a view of the river. The gardens were nice to look at. Very good seafood, fresh and cooked perfectly. Overall, a very pleasant evening. I would go back.
Thanks, Laurie4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated our 30 yearWe celebrated our 30 year anniversary at Scott's this year and as always--- we experience what we expect from Scotts! THANK YOU!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBRAVO !!Second dining experience at Scott's and loved it both times.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMScott's always does a niceScott's always does a nice job. We hope to be back soon. I only left off one star because the Thai beef salad had just a little too much salad dressing. Everything else was very good. Keep up the good work!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI do like to eat at Scotts,I do like to eat at Scotts, the food and service is excellent. The only problem is the parking. There is a cart taking people back and forth but it's not always there when you need it.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNot just a great location!Scott's doesn't just coast on a great scenic location, they have an always-pleasant and attentive staff, with an accessible menu. One gets the sense that this is an exceptionally well-managed restaurant whose staff is all on the same page.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe location on the riverThe location on the river is very nice. The brunch menu is not very large but what they offer is a very nice assortment. The quality of the food was excellent. The only critisism we had was there was no basket of breakfast breads or pastries offered while we waited for our main brunch items and no fruit was included as a side garnish on the main plates.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMelectrifyingJenny Y was our server. This being our first time at Scott's Seafood; our experience was nothing but spectacular. We were in celebration for a good friend's birthday so it was important that our experience was good one. I must say, the experience was over the top. We were seated in timely fashion, our glasses were never empty and our food was a delight as well as flavorful. We will be back!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were excellentFood and service were excellent but noise level was bothersome.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch!Went to Scott's on the River for Easter Brunch. We had a great time and wonderful food. The best part was the waitress who was so diligent yet not over the top checking too often. Scott's made a good day even better. Thanks!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTho I checked "Great for Bunch",Tho I checked "Great for Bunch", we were disappointed at Easter Brunch. We invited a couple and when I saw the four 1/2" mostly fatty slices of prime rib that was put on his plate, I was so embarrassed. I had not intended to get prime rib, but waited in line a bit and asked for a slice. I too got a very thin slice(like lunchmeat), I managed to trade plates with him, saying I 'liked' fatty cuts :( My husband and I come often and and I've enjoyed your 'usual' brunch with other women friends. I would suggest not offering prime rib next time. Positives: table was ready and waiting for us at 2:00, staff/waiters were excellent, as usual, all other foods were delicious, as usual. We will bring guests in the future--but not on holidays.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
