  • "I would have loved to see Esser Wines on the wine list, as it's latest varietals are my favorite!!! http://www.esservineyards.com/"

  • "However comma, the service Sunday morning was less than stellar. Forgot the toast, then said it burned and was re-doing....then had to flag a waiter down to get a second cup of coffee.....food was mediocre but thank goodness for the ambience of dining outdoors with a river view. Considering valet (because self parking was a block away with no shuttle running .... And my client had a fractured foot) I think the valet is way too expensive at $8 a car. Even at Original Joes in the heart of San Francisco it is only $6. Would be quite acceptable if food and service up to par."

  • "Reservations for 7:00, arrived at 6:30, requested inside table. Sat at the bar for a drink before being seated outside at 7:15. Service was just above "poor", items not served, very slow, etc."

  • "I had the fillet mignon with shrimp. The steak was excellant. My husband had the ciopino and it was good - he's had better. Service was good. Nice dining experience."

  • "Our first time at Scott's on the River. We'd previously dined at their Folsom restaurant and decided to try their other location. The food and service made it worth the trip. The dining room is long and narrow which seems to elevate the noise level. But as I said, we came for the food and not the ambiance. Our party of six ordered a variety of items off the menu and each item was well plated, hot, and a delight to eat. Our server did an outstanding job of getting the "seniors" in our party to the right selection(s) and was a jewel of a soul in making each of us feel welcome. If you're into quiet dining - you should pass. However, if you're into great food that is beautifully presented and great service, this is an excellent venue."

  • "We took my Father to this restaurant for his 75th Birthday dinner. The food and service were excellent! The restaurant is beautifully located and made the occasion even more special. We loved it!"

  • "not good food and over priced oriented towards hotel visitors"

  • "I had made a reservation for my wife's birthday. My lobster some parts were under cooked I didn't want to complain because it was my wife's birthday. Side items rice and veggies were cold and unappetizing I just told her I was full so I didn't complain about the food. The waiter was not friendly even to the table next to us that he was serving. Example he just handed the birthday cake to person said "enjoy" not very personable just went through the motions. My wife was so disgusted with the food and the service she didn't want any type of desert for her birthday. We will not be going back."

  • "I like the place but for a local it's a bit overpriced for the quality and selection."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Scott's is consistently good drinks and food. Our wait staff was very accommodating, spending extra time to put up a sun umbrella so I wouldn't have to squint at the outside table. We tried new cocktails at the recommendation of our waitress, and they were great. My salmon on seafood risotto was really good. Two in our group had the filet and scallops, and they both raved. The fourth in our party couldn't say enough about the macadamia nut crusted halibut. Overall, this restaurant has never disappointed and we'll continue to come back."

  • "After being seated we waited 15 minutes for water and to have our wine opened. (We brought our own bottle). We felt ignored. Once the waitress started serving us it was a little better. We had to refill our own wine glasses throughout the evening."

  • "Each time I dine at Scott's on the River I have impressed with the level of service. The waiters and waitresses are helpful with suggestions, knowledgable about the specials and the wine list. This is one of my favorite Sacramento restaurants. I have never had a poor meal or poor service in the years I have been dining there."

  • "I have brought many friends to Scott's on the River they all have the same comment when the meal is over. It was great we will come back. For some reason OpenTable has my name listed as Bonnie I asked the reservations attendent to erase Bonnie and replace it with Carol, I watched her do this, however, when my guests arrived and asked for Carol Scott's could not find Carol and they sat in the receiving area for 15 minutes before they located us in your outside dining area. How do I get my name changed to Carol"

  • "My husband suggested we try Scott's for my birthday so we made reservations. The food was great and so was the service. I had the Filet and scallops, the only issue was that you only got 2 scallops for the price, there should have been at least 4. But they tasted great. The only other issue is with parking. I have a brace on my leg and can't walk very far and there really isn't much close parking. We ended up using the valet which was $7. Other than that, it was great."

  • "4th time at Scott's and always a special occasion, therefore have never been disappointed!"
    Dined on 7/8/2014
  • "We agreed as a group of 5 that we would all have fish dishes at Scott's. The children's tilapia and the adults Achiote Tilapia was inedible. It tasted like bad fish. We sent the kids meal back but I ate the polenta off my plate so I felt like I at least got a meal out of it. The ahi was OK but not worth over $30...bettter to eat at a sushi place. The fish and chips was not fitting of a seafood restaurant...maybe more like a dish from Applebees. The trademark Macadamia Halibut was too greasy and even the halibut did not taste as fresh...the vegetables on that dish was good."

  • "Great brunch spot! Try the crabcakes and calamari."
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "My husband and I chose Scott's for our date night and we were not disappointed with the service or food. The minor issue was that self parking was full so we had to valet but that was fine. The views were lovely and we enjoyed our time."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "The food and service was supurb. The parking stinks. Very limited number of self- parking spaces way out on levee. If you have mobility problems or cannot find one of the few self-parking spots you must use the Valet Parking, which is $7.00. Since this restaurant depends more upon an outside customer base, the hotel should provide the restaurant with more self-parking spaces or allow the restaurant to validate parking. The Valet parking is a racket!"

  • "Service was great, very attentive and suggestive on food options, answered our questions and made our dining experience a joy to be remembered. I would love to experience your outdoor dining when temperature is cooler to take in our surroundings. I would return and recommend Scott's Seafood as a must for any reason."

  • "We've been dining at Scott's Seafood on the River for a few years now. The pleasant surprise is that the food, which was ok, has gotten better."

  • "In spite of the Sacramento heat, we dined on the patio. The staff was great about moving the umbrellas around for the guests to keep the hot sun from roasting us. I love the patio because it is quieter than the restaurant which tends to be very noisy. Food was very good - fried calamari, Dungeness Crab Louie and a beautifully presented swordfish. Service was a bit slow though our server was very pleasant. I would like to return for Happy Hour during the week."

  • "This was our first time at Scott's Seafood. The support staff was attentive - used dishes were removed almost immediately - and the food was good. The view of the river was very nice. The overall experience was positive, and we will likely return."

  • "Miguel was a wonderful Server, and everything was spot on- especially the delicious sword fish!"

  • "Four of us were at Scott's to celebrate a birthday. As always, the food was wonderful. They provided a complimentary dessert and bottle of champagne for the birthday girl! It was a nice touch. I highly recommend Scott's."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Our dining experience was very good. The only negative was that our server at first did not make it clear that if we were there for a special occasion, and we were, as we were celebrating my husband's birthday, that his dessert was complimentary. When I asked one of the table help he confirmed that it was and so we ordered one dessert. After a bit of a wait, it came but we were charged for it. As we were in a hurry to get to another commitment, we just paid the bill and left."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Service great, food good...it was a hot day and it was difficult to create shade for everyone. Maybe get more umbrellas? Also, sun reflects off of the hotel windows...maybe find ways to block that? The heat was just a little distracting from being comfortable."

  • "Leslie our server was very prompt and friendly and saw to our needs. Food was great and we will definitely come again."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "We were there to remember my aunts life (who died at 94). Needless to say, there were 3 quite elderly women (and I'm not so young myself). The staff was wonderful, from the bar tender to the hostess to the waiter and server. I can't thank you enough. PS Everyone enjoyed the food"

  • "We live 10 minutes from Scott's and have eaten here several times, and brought others for a couple of them. Mike, our server, was particularly attentive this particular Saturday morning, and as usual, all the food was very good. The Creme Brûlée French toast is always a good choice. However, they continue to have almost no vegetarian options on the lunch and dinner menus - we'd dine there more often if they did, as the location is unbeatable!"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Great atmosphere but food not so good. Portion of swordfish was small and calamari was not up to usual. I think the restaurant has suffered some by trying to be a bar/party place rather than a good restaurant."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "All in all it was a great evening. We celebrated our 43rd Anniversary here and were very satisfied with the food and service. A nice perk was we received a bottle of champagne as a gift to take home with us."

  • "We had no idea Scott's on the River has been open so many years. This was our first visit. We enjoy outdoor dining with a water view and will be back for special occasions. Our early dinner on the patio with friends was great and Leslie was a great server. Complimentary bottle of champagne for our 50th anniversary dinner was a special touch."
