Scott's responded to my Open Table reservation by phoning me and inquiring if my planned visit was a special occasion. I explained that it was my wife's birthday and they said that they would do something special for her. They did in fact cater to her by giving her dessert, a rose and a copy of photographs taken by them. In 38 years of patronizing the Scott's chain, this is the first time Scott's has given this level of attention and service to my guests. Needless to say, their catering to my wife made her feel very special and a very good time was had by the entire party. Many thanks to Scott's and Open Table.

I've been to Scott's restaurants many times, in Sacramento, Jack London Square, and other locations. Their seafood has always been exquisite. I'd not been to the one at Jack London Square in years, but had the occasion to last week. The interior is beautiful with hammered copper accents everywhere, and a view of the harbor that is great. It is a very warm, inviting and comfortable interior. Everything was good, but the food just wasn't great. The fish was a tad dry and overcooked. The portions quite small. I was expecting better. I would go back, only this time with lowered expectations, that the fish would not be divine, rather just good. It works for business or social dinners, but I would not bring a date here or special affair

The quality of the food is moderate and in my opinion, does not justify the price. Whereas I do realize that the site on the estuary probably demands a higher rent but in the end, I expect a somewhat special dinner when paying >$30.00 for an entree.

One of the best things about Scott's in Jack London Square is the atmosphere. A bank of large, glass windows provides a beautiful view of the Oakland estuary. Service was fine; although we had to motion a waiter over to take our order. Appetizers were delivered promptly, but entrees were delivered before all salad and appetizer plates had been cleared. The food was just okay....not particularly notable, unique or tasty. With the exception of one salad which was presented in tower fashion, the dishes were unimaginative and bland in taste. The fish seemed fresh, but the salmon was overdone and a bit dry, and the sand dabs had little flavor. Overall, the quality of the dinner was not commensurate with the price.

We had a great dinner, food was excellent, service was wonderful, and the view was spectacular. I had the herb crusted halibut, which was excellent, my sister had the salmon, and my friend had the pork chops. We all were very very satisfied with our selections. The garlic mashed potatoes were a real hit.

Lovely outside dining with a view (protected from wind), perfect service, wonderful food....NE Clam Chowder, crab cakes, seafood salad, key lime. And a rose, pic of the group and free lovely rasp sorbet. Our server was one of several Kates...thick red hair....she was excellent in every way!

Having moved from the West coast over 15 years ago, we return frequently to visit family and friends. Scott's has been a long-time favorite, and they never disappoint. The chowder is fantastic, and the seafood selections are always very fresh, and nicely prepared. Service was friendly, personalized and attentive. I consider this one of our "go to" places for a nice meal in a nice environment.

We've been to Scott's - Oakland numerous times over the past 12 years. The menu for appetizers and entrées has widely expanded, to include some of the best (sea)food in the S.F. Bay Area. Food, wait staff, etc., remain OUTSTANDING!!! Recently, I have read some reviews by patrons indicating they thought Scott's was "a bit too pricey." Not true, prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of food offered. Try Scott's - Oakland and you won't be disappointed. Thanks, Ron and Carol Russo, Pleasanton, CA

I am a big fan of Scott's Seafood in Oakland, we have lunch there at least once a month. In July I celebrated my sons 21st birthday and the staff and service was excellent. I was extremely disappointed in our service when we celebrated my fiances birthday. It seems they may have been short staffed, we barely saw our waiter, which is not like Scott's they are usually very attentive. Unfortunately I felt the celebration was ruined for the night.

Nice dinner with a good table close to the water with sialboats going by... The food was quite good (oysters, crab...) and so was the ambiance at a moderate noise level allowing good conversations to take place. I noticed very few older people and now I know why. Friday is a night for younger people, who enjoy loud music while they are dining. I dined in your restaurant with two friends on Friday evening. There was a table with four people wearing hats, turned backwards and wearing inappropriate clothes for dining in a restaurant. There was another table with a man wearing a hat, also. I'm in my 60's and the music was too loud so I could barely hear the voices of the people dining with me. I ordered broiled halibut without any seasoning and sauce on the side because I'm on a low salt diet. The fish was dry. I also ordered a bake potato, which was dry also.

No doubt, Scott's is very scenic. But the food is very expensive (no entree under $28) and very ordinary. Looks good on the menu but truly average. We have been here many times and it seems to be getting more average. HOWEVER!...it is very good for a small plate to share and perhaps an afternoon glass of wine so you can enjoy the view and not spend a fortune.
