A word from Scott's Seafood - Oakland
Located in the heart of Jack London Square, Scott's Seafood restaurant has been the standard for fresh seafood in the Bay Area since 1976. With an incredible view of San Francisco and the Oakland waterfront, Scott's has been named the "Best Seafood Restaurant" in Oakland for a good reason. Scott's Famous Cioppino, Seafood Saute', Alaskan Halibut, New England Clam Bake Stew and our award winning Clam Chowder are some of the classic favorites. Piano bar every night with Maxine Glover playing Wednesday through Saturday. Also performing Sunday through Tuesday the incredible John Turk. The Sunday Jazz Brunch Buffet features "Just the Three of us" Jazz group each Sunday. Also, window and patio seating are on a first come first serve basis.

We were celebrating a special occasion and they even surprised everyone when they brought a special desert for the young lady who's special event we were celebrating. Everyone really enjoyed the food, for most it was their first time at the restaurant, and we will definitely be back at Scott's the next time we are in Oakland."

Our usual requirements for such events is always good food, doting service and a sunset. We got all three plus some of the loveliest jazz piano anywhere in an Oakland restaurant."

  • "I asked for and was given an outside table in the perfect spot. The weather was supreme and the food superb. I ordered the Captain's Platter, which is not on the menu but if you ask they will prepare it for you--fried scallops, shrimp, fish, julienne fries and green beans. It was delicious and very fulfilling meal. As others said the food is on the expensive side but worth it as this is not your everyday kind of restaurant."

  • "Had a fantastic time at the Sunday brunch -- tons of and a variety of foods. Had a jazz band with a singer -- a drummer by the name of Smiley did an improv number with his drumsticks, walking around the room pounding on things (really cool). Seemed there was a table in the bar area where people gathered to take turns singing in a jazz karaoke at the mic -- all quite talented! Highly recommend dropping in to relax and fill your belly! As usual, the team at Scott's always make us feel appreciated and at home."

  • "I love petrale sole dore, but so many restaurants serve something that's greasy and tasteless that I'm always cautious about ordering it. Gave it a try at Scott's and it was fabulous!!! Light, tasty, and plenty of fish. Came with garlic mashed potatoes and a big serving of perfectly cooked spinach, and extra sauce."

  • "They've got a funny system for parcelling out waitpersons to tables in this restaurant; instead of putting a server in charge of a block of contiguous tables it looks like each table gets a different server. The downside of that arrangement is that there's much less chance that you can get the attention of your server if he/she is serving all over the restaurant instead of in the "neighborhood." The food was just okay...but the coffee was great! I wish it were the other way around."

  • "We had one seafood dish and one meat dish. The seafood was good. The meat dish was awful. It was tough and dry. The wait staff rather ignored us when a party of 6 or 7 came in and sat near us. We waited for about 10 minutes to get the desert menu and another 15 for the desert."

  • "Hard to believe that a place charging very healthy prices would tell you that 'our restroom is out....you'll have to go across the street to the garage bathroom if you need one'.......and even more surprisingly to say so without a hint of an apology for this disservice. To top it all off, it's been a LONG time since we've had such poor service. Attitude of servers was they were doing us a favor. Food was pretty good, but we'll never go back. Such a shame for a lovely locationed restaurant!"

  • "Went to Scott's for Fathers Day our party did not all arrive at the same time. They do not seat you unless your entire party is there, which I understand. Once we were seated the service was impeccable. They have the best sourdough bread, Boudins. All the food that was served was served at the perfect temperature and with lotsof flavor. No complaintsat all about out evening."

They were'nt that busy but we waited about 20 minutes to get service and anothet 15 to get drinks. She just was not very attentive at all."

The prices are a little high, but we don't mind spending money if the food is spectacular, the service is excellent and we get enough to eat. Scotts is well worth it. Their Filet Mignon is juicy and tender. The Macadamia Encrusted Halibut is to die for. And their salads are always fresh, delicious and the portion is worth the price. Along with the ambiance and the boats going in and out of the Marina, it was a memorable Father's Day. Our favorite place to dine."

  • "My Thai seafood curry had too much coconut milk and was overly sweet, and the mussels were very small. But the scallops were tender and lovely. Making the sauce a little less sweet and rich (use low fat coconut milk) would allow a little more of the curry flavor to dominate. The ingredients are so flavorful by themselves that they don't require additional fat to add richness. Everything we were served was fresh and good quality. I'd give the curry a B+."

  • "I hadn't been to Scott's in over 7 years because of various reasons. I had a friend relocating to DC and she wanted to go there, so reluctantly I went. I was very surprised and refreshed from the time I entered until the time I left. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was excellent. I don't think any of us left anything on our plates. The only exception was the service, it was rather slow and not attentive for this particular location. Our server was very nice, but a bit slow. I wasn't aware that Scott's was part of the Eat, Drink and Earn Rewards program since I haven't dined there so I missed an opportunity for 165 points (disappointing). I've already recommended Scott's to a few friends and plan to return in the near future myself"
