  • "We were seated within 10 seconds of check-in. Had clam chowders on our table within 4 minutes. The sourdough bread served warm with lots of butter. Since we brought our own bottle of wine and it needed to be chilled, our waitress was outstanding in getting a chiller and making sure wine cold berfore served. Waitress was extremly attentive and QUICK!"

  • "It was a beautiful warm evening, do our group of 4 dined outside. The food was delicious and the service was good. We had plenty of time to chat and make it to the theater."

  • "I seafood and I eat it! One of the best all around seafood places in the South Bay. Highly recommend the seafood specials."

  • "The food is good -- more innovative than other Scott's and better than I remembered when it was called The Cantankerous Fish. However, service is a bit uneven, with odd gaps when the waiter is not to be found, including between prividing a dessert menu and returning to see if there was interest. (There was, but only just in time to still get to theatre.)"

  • "We got exactly what we came for - good food and service with a stunning view. We were lucky to get a great table by the window and the views were awesome. It was really lovely to go for a walk in the Golden Gate Park before lunch, and then along the coastal trail afterwards so made for a great day out. The food itself is enjoyable but average so as long as you're coming for the overall package you should have a good time. Restaurant could do with more toilets though!"

  • "We celebrated two birthdays (one 88!) at the restaurant Saturday night. The food was excellent, but the service was stellar. Our waitress answered every question, checked foods for allergy person, served an appetizer with others meals as requested. Water glasses kept filled, and gave us time to visit as the evening was winding down. Best of all--the restaurant sprung for TWO desserts--each chosen by the birthday celebrant. Real class to my way of thinking!!! And, I got the bill as requested--it was not sprung on any of the men present!!! (I was the "hostess")"

  • "Food was excellence, server was good, however they messed up our food to go order, giving someone's left orders to us, d so please check, someone mash potatoes instead of calamari,"

  • "We were seated in the back of the restaurant in a small room near the kitchen door and bar. If you go to this restaurant, insist on the main dining room."

  • "Very romantic evening dinner scene. Food was excellent and the special of that night was delicious. Highly recommended!!"

  • "I had a great experience my first visit to Scotts Mountain View. Good food, service and ambience. I would go back. If you don't like the seafood, the chicken is very good here."

  • "and we practically had the place to ourselves. Don't know why. Tempting salads, good seafood perfectly cooked. Spot-on service, and Guinness on tap, perfectly poured. Not over-salted! Salads were not drowned in dressing. Coffee was good, and you can't beat the Raspberry Jack. Although I was meeting a group for dinner, there were some people in the bar making dinner out of some really great looking bar snacks. Maybe next time..."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Scott's. Not only were the portions generous, they were cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing."

  • "The title says it all. While the food is far from a "value", fish connoisseurs will be happy with the quality of the food. Everything tasted fresh and was well-presented. The service, though, was really below par. We sat at one of the patio tables for over 20 minutes after being seated by the host without anyone coming by to take a drink order . I finally got up and went inside to alert them. The problems continued, though, in terms of the long gap between (1) drink order and taking food order (2) time for the food to be made (3) the next visit from the server (4) time to get the check etc. We ate fairly quickly, but what probably should have been about a 60-90 minute dinner took over 2 hours. Spoiled the enjoyment of the good food."

  • "The menu choices have gotten so much better. We did not go for a while now I don't know which one to pick. Red snapper was very good, delicately prepared. The noise level in the restaurant allows for normal conversation over the table, very nice. Love the happy hour, every day from 3:30 to 6:30pm, draft beers, house wine and well drinks. Good choices for appetizers include a tempura roll that is easy to share. And Andrew provides great service, personable and quick."

  • "Dungeness crab cabs were excellent. The southwest chicken sandwich was a tad dry and a bit overspiced for my husband's taste. Our server handed us the check before asking if we wanted dessert or coffee. We ordered both."

  • "Went for a Valentines dinner expecting a traditional steak and seafood as I know Scotts is always good for. We were not let down and had a cozy corner table in the back room, a rose provided to my love at the front reception and the fixed price special menu started with champagne followed by a delicious lobster bisque and sourdough bread to dip. The main course was a filet mignon w/lobster tail, red potatoes & green beans, all cooked perfectly - the waitress failed to ask us how well done we wanted the steak but it was cooked medium rare which was to our satisfaction. The lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream was delicious and overall the portions added up to a perfect meal."

  • "This restaurant lacks pizzazz in a vibrant neighborhood filled with much more interesting choices where they try much harder to please the customer. Go elsewhere."

  • "The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly. Servers were all super polite and friendly, especially with my 15 month old son. Great dining experience"

  • "Nice dishes, oyster, crab cakes, salad, wine, and especially sea bass, today’s special that was perfect. However I was not fully satisfied. Service is not-so-bad level. The table staff was good but too busy and it was difficult to catch his eyes. It seemed due to that team work on the floor seemed awkward. Restaurant environment was better than others in the area, however needs some improvements in room design including noise level and table location. I hope restaurant will improve to match to their good food and price."

  • "We had to shout at each other to be heard. Perhaps the booths are better but we could not get a booth. They were all filled. My only other experiences with Scott's were at Palo Alto and San Jose, where it was much quieter."

  • "I especially liked that the menu had so many gluten free options and they were marked. The fish was delicious and fresh. Even the steak was good. Salads were fresh and tasty. Some dishes could have been spiced a bit more. Portion sides were good."

  • "Food was good, service was great and timely. Menu had good choices. Handy for going to theater."

  • "My water glass was never refilled. Just to check service, before I ask, I wait to see if they are on top of that. I didn't ask, but neither did they check. My partner's plate was empty and the busboy asked, "Are you finished?" My partner replied, "Yes." The busboy then grabbed my plate also (I was still eating) and I was so stunned I didn't respond fast enough. Once the busboy stacked the plate, I didn't want it back. The food wasn't anything spectacular. This was my first time at Scott's."

  • "We were thrilled with the service and attention for our party of 8. We have been to Scott's many times and it is usually consistently quite good. However, of late, the food isn't always of the quality expected there...the kitchen needs to be more consistent with food prep and heat without over-cooking. We will be back as the service is great, and we know the kitchen will correct their output."

  • "I've been when it was cantankerous fish and again when it became scott's. it was good the first time, but terribly disappointing on this visit.. I was the guest of a friend, and didn't want to complain.my fish was dry and tasteless and the service less than attentive. I frequent scott's in town and country often, both for lunch and dinner. I have always enjoyed the meal, the service and ambiance."

  • "The food was excellent the service poor. The waitress appeared immediately and took our drink order, when she returned we placed our appetizer order and our dinner order because we have children and never know how long they will behave, we asked for more butter. The appetizers were delivered by a man (possibly a manager) requested butter again. Appetizers were cleared and we received our dinner entrees - (Food was excellent) and we finally received the butter by our waitress. That was the last time we saw her. We were never asked if we wanted to order another drink (usually we order a bottle of wine). Our entrees were never cleared - I had to ask someone for the check. So no wine, dessert and waitress. Not a good dining experience!!!"

  • "I held a team dinner for 12 at Scott's and we had a good experience. The food was well prepared and everyone enjoyed their meal. The seafood appetizer samplers (both hot and cold) were excellent, but a bit pricey. As the host, I especially appreciated the short but well appointed and affordably priced wine list."
    Dined on 1/8/2014
  • "My friend commented that she's never had such a small caesar for 20 dollars and the appetizers were great to eat but we literally paid 30 dollars for two crab cakes, four shrimp, and 2 lbs of calamari.. The Portion sizes for the prices were very misporportioned, otherwise the food and wine list were great too!"

  • "When you're tired of too much prime rib over the holidays, this place is a great relief for light, delicious fare. Enjoy seafood at it's best at Scott's, a well-known Silicon Valley mainstay for the best in the fruits of the ocean. Try the scallops and shrimp dish!"

  • "We enjoyed our evening, food was good , the drink was excellent and a pleasant over all experience, It has outdoor heaters and would be pleasant to dine out for lunch or happy hour"

  • "We started with the hot appetizer assortment and it was enough for 4 people. The 2 of us had to leave the delicious calamari unfinished in order to leave room for our meal. We ate the 4 coconut shrimp and crab cakes. The lobster tail was delicious and they allowed me to have mushroom risotto instead of potatoes. The asparagus was perfectly cooked. My husband raved about his Caesar salad and also enjoyed his entree. The evening was perfect!"

  • "We dined at Scotts early so that we could attend a performance at the Performing Arts theater next door. The friendly Staff were mindful of our time concerns and yet did not rush our food to us. The fried calamari in a light panko batter was delectable and the sauce on both orders of Muchroom ravioli with prawns was so good both of us used our bread to wipe our dishes clean :-)"
