Scott's Seafood Mountain View (fka The Cantankerous Fish)Good Food, Good ServiceScott's is an excellent place to eat before or after a show at the Mountain View Performing Arts Center. My wife and I have dined there three times and found the food to be tasty and artfully presented; and the service to be excellent. Scott's isn't cheap, especially the wine, but is probably on a par with other restaurants of similar quality. The setting is open with good views of the street from many tables. They also have outdoors seating.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSeared Ahi TunaWe went to the Mountain View Scott's in hopes that they had the same Ahi Tuna appetizer as the Scott's in Palo Alto. They did! The fish is delicious and the sauce that comes with it is to die for. We also had the seafood saute which was wonderful!! I live just down the street and I'm very choosy about my fresh seafood. I was really pleased with Scott's. I would request that they adopt the same main course Seared Ahi Tuna dinner as they do at the Palo Alto restaurant - with the wasabi mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach and mushrooms - it's a wonderful dish.... That would bring me in probably once a week to order that instead of having to go to Palo Alto. I'm also looking forward to trying Scott's Happy Hour...5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy food!I've had the Prawn sandwich before and it was delicious. Last time I tried the Seared Ahi salad. Not being a real fish person I have to say it was very delicious. The people I went with enjoyed the Bay Shrimp salad. I had the vanilla bean creme brulee for dessert. YUM!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to this locationI have been to this location of Scotts many times. I liked it when they called it the Cantankerous Fish, but can't see any difference really. The fish is outstanding, fresh and well prepared. The sides enhance rather than overpower, and the preparations are interesting and varied.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMStill the sameWe were afraid that when Scott's took over things would change. But the food is still terrific. We had lunch and it was during their street fair. Warm day, but we had a great time.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMReally like what they've doneReally like what they've done to convert to Scott's (from Cantankerous Fish). Nicely updated. This is one of our favorite places to eat before going to a show at the Moutain View Center for the Performing Arts.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for pre theatre mealBeen here several times. Great spot for before or after performance at Mt View Center for Preforming Arts, a block away.
Efficient service, good food, reasonably priced, on street parking4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDid Not Disappoint! We took a friend here to celebrate her birthday on a Saturday. Was a little nervous about it since I had seen some rather mixed reviews. Based on all 3 dinners and the service, I would not hesitate to recommend it or go again. Everyone had something different. Hubby said that the mushroom ravs were the best he'd ever had & were topped with large shrimp. Birthday girl had bacon wrapped scallops & raved about them although for the price I thought there should have been 5 of them rather than 4. My trout topped with crab was so good and not full of those little bones that are so often in trout. Service was good too.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMQuite an ExperienceDinner, Saturday night, with a close personal friend. Unlike my previous visit, service was excellent, well timed, and attentive, as we were served by Julio (recommend you ask for him).

Wine, appetizers, and entrees were well seasoned and quite delicious. We knew we were having a much better than usual experience, and were quite pleased.
I recommend Scott's Seafood, Mountain View.
Bon appetit!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were pleasantly surprisedWe were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the entrees were. The fish was not bland, as they know how to use brown butter on the panko crusted sole! The crab, shrimp, scallop sauté was perfectly cooked and my husband liked that there were no shells to deal with. The bread dipped in the sauce was heavenly.
We are going back to try new things!4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA nice eveningThe salmon special was delicious. The ability to swap out fish for tofu was a very welcome feature for one of our vegan diners. Our salads were large and lightly dressed. The wait staff was accommodating with an ice bucket for a bottle of champagne that we brought for a birthday celebration. All in all, a nice evening.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have dinner here aboutWe have dinner here about once a month.
