  • "Mahi Mahi special was much too salty. The waitress graciously brought a second choice of halibut which was excellent. Atmosphere would be wonderful if there weren't so much noise. Restaurant sounds and voices echo off the ceiling and wall reaching decibel levels of 85+. We love your menu, food, and setting but will probably not return because of the noise level. it's interesting that your noise level rating above does not address this extreme. I had to rate "Do not recall" in order to submit this review."

  • "The Mahi-Mahi special was to die for and the Halibut with Asiago and Lemon was even better. Our server gave us the time we asked for to finish our cocktails before ordering dinner. She was most attentive without being a pest. This was the best birthday dinner celebration meal we have had in many years. The fish was cooked to perfection as were the sides. Scott's is our go to dining destination going forward!"

  • "A dear old friend and I celebrated a very special birthday at Scott's Folsom this week. It was the perfect choice in restaurants for this very special lunch. Our meals, the dessert, wine and coffee were all delicious. And our waitress, Beverly, was very attentive and so very nice and she let us take our time - my friend and I had a lot of catching up to do and we never felt pressured. For special occasions with my family and friends and even for our office holiday parties, Scott's has always been the perfect place to go."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Being earlier in the week, it offered a nice quiet evening. Service was spot on and the food was very good. We tasted a couple of red wines, discovered a new favorite. When we want fresh seafood, this where we go. One of our regular spots."

  • "We have passed this place so many times and often said we should give it a try. Finally, we did, and it was great! My wife had the Halibut and I had steamers and then Prawns and Chips. Both our meals were outstanding! We have added Scott's to our neighborhood favorites and intend to go there often."

  • "We had a last minute dinner with a close friend. Love the food and service. Brad was our waiter and did a great job. I had the swordfish with the coconut prawns. It was delicious. The girls had the sea bass which was good as well."

  • "We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Cocktails and menu specials were made available. Our calamari appetizer was perfect. Gluten free menu made available. Meal was great...we all opted for seafood salads. No rush in asking us to leave as we visited and had coffee, Scott's is always a treat and consistently better than good."

  • "The food was excellent at Scott's and worth the wait. The restaurant was busy and we had to wait quite awhile for our dinners to arrive. We also had to ask the waiter for a second glass of wine. He seemed to be too busy to notice that we were out. Other than that, we would eat at Scott's again. I wouldn't call the restaurant, "romantic". Its too loud for that, but it is very comfortable."

  • "Hadn't been here in a few years (not sure why!)…we were pleased that the food and the service were excellent. It was so good, that we came here twice within a couple of weeks. I had 2 different seafood pasta dishes on those visits - both very nicely done. Would be hard-pressed to say which I liked better. Salads were also very good, as was the ahi appetizer. They were gracious in accommodating my husband's medical need for a gluten-free diet. The server explained that they have had quite a bit of training re: gluten-free, which we appreciate. He did seem very knowledgable. They also accommodated our guest's request for a slightly different preparation of the red snapper; she LOVED it & sopped up every last morsel with her bread."

  • "Scotts is a wonderful sea food house, here in the Sacramento area. The pride of fresh sea food, and great service is a mainstay that anyone can count on at Scott's. With the addition of new and imaginary menu items, Scott's has given it's clients one more reason for a return visit. Don't miss out, anyone who loves seafood, oysters, and a very nice wine list, will fall in love with Scott's."

  • "We were lucky enough to be able to book a table here on short notice on a Saturday night. Food was good, Ambiance was perfect. Loved the atmosphere."

  • "Have enjoyed Scott's for years. Most recent visit on a Thursday fell short. The fresh fanny bay oysters tasted ok yet were tiny and not table worthy. The jerk marinated swordfish lacked the sharpness and depth from past orders and the 'mango rice' was wet, limp, just sitting there. Years back the rice was toasted to a round cake and created a complement. My cioppino was simply not up to par. The sauce was not italian ie tomato, wine, stock, herbs. It was a creole-sort with way too much sliced onion and the mussels were tired, shrimp over-cooked, crab tasted salty/defrosted. Sorry about these negatives. I've always loved Scott's. A menu overhaul is in order to wake up from complaceny."

  • "We arrived about 5-7 minutes early for a Saturday night reservation. We were initially ignored by manager & hostess while they answered several phone calls. Then, hostess scolded us for being early for reservation (5 minutes!), told us to sit at the door while she seated a couple 10 minutes late for their reservation. Then she kept babbling about how busy they were. The service the rest of dinner was rushed and not very gracious. Food was delicious, but service needs some polish. They made a bad first impression that was hard to shake."

  • "I have been to Scott's a number of times in Sacramento, but I have never been to the one in Folsom. It was very nice. I was not very pleases with the lettuce wrap appetizer, however my meal was delicious. I do not think it was as hot as it should have been , but I did not complain. My boyfriend had their shrimp skewers and they were amazing! The shrimp was not the biggest I have ever had, but the quality and taste was amazing. Often times you taste shrimp and it has a fishy like taste..not these."

  • "My Husband and I went on Valentines Day. We did not mind the crowd and the food was delicious. We go to the Scott's Seafood on the River usually. This was our first visit to this location. The portion size was smaller than the Scott's Seafood Restaurant on the river."

  • "Arrived early for our reservation the evening before Valentines Day. Restaraunt was packed, but we were still seated before our reserved time. Food was served quickly and hot. Ambiance was great, food was delicious and nicely presented. Daniel, our server, was very pleasant and responsive. A great choice for our early Valentines."

  • "Scott's has always been the highest quality seafood, and service, here in the Sacramento area. After years of the same menu items, they became a little too predictable. Now, the menu has expanded and the new items are just wonderful. The knowledge and attentiveness of the serving staff is excellent, as always. This is expected at a restaurant with Scott's reputation, that has been missed by so many of Scott's competitors. We will be coming back."

  • "We dined at Scotts in Folsom this past week and were very impressed at the freshness of the seafood, expert preparation and presentation as well as phenomenal service from Sharon H. !!! I would highly recommend Scotts for the freshest seafood in the foothills and a menu that rivals anything you might see in San Francisco, without the long drive and traffic. We will definitely return !! Also, now that I have my Scotts Senior Discount Card, you will be seeing more of me for sure !!!"

  • "Simply a great, under-rated gem. Fish flown in daily. We had the jerk marinated swordfish with coconut prawns, and the mahi mahi, plus 6 monstrous totten oysters from B.C. Every aspect was spot on. Guy at the the next table had the cioppino...next time for me."

  • "We haven't been to this location in years! Sooo happy we became reacquainted! Service from start to finish was excellent! And the food was too! We splurged on dessert-YUM!!"

  • "We've been eating at Scott's for decades, and though the oyster selection is very good and the fish is good, the menu is quite formulaic and this place is in need of some change and additions. In those decades, other restaurants have come to the area, including McCormick and Schmick's, for example - offering a broader wine and much deeper fish selection. It's nice, comfortable and inventive in its ambiance, but the menu is in need of updating. With places like La Huaca with Peruvian ceviche and fish, a number of Japanese places with truly fresh sashimi and fish, McCormick and Schmick's with a broader wine selection and many more fish dishes, we don't come as often as we would if the menu were enhanced."

  • "Our server was very attentive and not hovering. The atmosphere was nice. I love seafood but I believe the cook cut the scallops in half for the dish that I ordered. They appeared as a slender piece of fish instead of how a thick scallop should be prepared and presented. Wish they had left them whole. I suppose that doing so was a trick to stretch the seafood but still maintain the notion that the customer was getting a nice meaty scallop. I apologize if this was not the case."

  • "The ambiance was nice in the restaurant though noisy. Food was good-had the salmon, but nothing special. I've had better salmon and accompanying sides at other restaurants such as Zinfandel Grill, Cheesecake Factory, Banderas etc. I would go to this Scott's again, but not too often."
