  • "Had brunch here Sunday. For a brunch food was quite good and kept fresh and replaced. The desserts didn't hold up to the rest though...not for a $42.50 brunch. Tapioca? Crab Benedict was great as was all the seafood. Nice salad selections."

  • "Jazz trio always wonderful for a great ambiance. Bartender Caroline is wonderful, most of the hard-working waitstaff professional and very good. Menu reads very impressive, but food not up to gourmet description--blah veggies, nuked(?) fish. Our waitress? On Sat eve was absent for long periods of time-and when we flagged down another staff member, he was quick to get us what we wanted. Waitress never apologized, gave us any explanation of why she never stopped to see how we were doing. Her reply when we said we wanted a dessert list? "I thought you were still eating. " We were planning to take home our entree leftovers. We didn't need to wait 1/2 hr to get her attention."

  • "When we first walked into Scott's, we were impressed with the great ambiance: live jazz, waterfall in the patio area. But then we were served our food which, although tasted okay at first, turned out to be horrible. It left a terrible aftertaste as if really old oil and butter were used to prepare the fish. And the outer part of my encrusted halibut was entirely inedible. The oily aftertaste stayed with me for hours, and I had to lay down at home and chase with pepto. The service was also very slow and a little unprofessional. It seems that many people enjoy this place. Based on our experience, I can't understand why. Maybe it was a problem with just these particular dishes we ordered. But I would definitely not recommend Scott's."

  • "This is one of our go-to restaurants and we are always pleased. However, we rarely go on a Sat. night and this time was very busy. We had an inexperienced server who seemed overwhelmed. Our starters arrived cold and had to be sent back; then our entrees arrived less than hot and hate to be sent back. Very disappointing. While the food was good, the long wait for hot food was not."

  • "It is the Salmon Festival but there were no wild salmon filets available. At least 4 featured menu items were unavailable because they ran out of salmon at lunch. We were there at 6:30pm for dinner and it was not crowded. Poor planning?? A few months ago we went in response to an e-mail announcing the availability of sand dabs but again, they were sold out at lunch. Sounds like very bad kitchen management."

  • "The services was the worst ever. I had a friend from SoCal visiting the East Bay. He left with a very bad impression. it all started with the drink, the server didn't know what ginger beer was so she said yes, we have it "on tap." Drink was w/o the right rum and taste bad. Salmon came w/ a sugary soy sauce on top but server never told us about it. my friend is allergic to soy, the server took it back. When the dish came original w/ spinach a& we requested steam, it came right, but when they took it back to remove the soy sauce, they brought it back without the spinach but with greenbeens with lots of butter. we asked for the spinach with then came but not longer steam. get the idea? very BAD. By the way, very expensive, grrrr"

  • "Had the salmon plate for lunch, grilled. It cam out a bit dry, and crumbly, otherwise OK. I know salmon is pricey, but the portion served seemed small. Service was average: polite, but infrequent. I had to ask the busboy for a coffee refill. Always an excellent setting for business. The plate seemed to need a spark, especially for someone who eats at Tadich's, Deadfish, etc."

  • "Our sixth straight Anniversary here at Scott's Walnut Creek. We were married here and have enjoyed another great Anniversary night out at Scott's. Our table was ready with rose petals shaped as a heart as it is every year we come. Champagne on the table as a token of Scott's appreciation. The greeter and past wait staff from Valentine's even recognize us a very nice gesture since how busy they are on Valentine's Day. The service all night and the diner well was great. Again thank You to the staff at Scott's, Champagne and a Heart Rose what else can you say but happy couple will be back soon:)"

  • "These fine people do a consistently good job. we've never been disappointed with a single meal and have been dining here for more than 15 years. the seafood is wonderful, the steaks are great, and the margaritas are to die for! our only issue is that sometimes the piano player is too loud. Music should be background and not drown out dinner conversation. Otherwise, a great dinner spot!"

  • "I'm really disappointed. For years, we have always gone to Scott's in Oakland, and decided to take my Dad to the Walnut Creek location for Father's Day. Not only did 2 of the 4 dinners come out cold, but my halibut cheeks were so overcooked, they were stringy and it took 2-3 times to cut through with a knife. My husband had the petite filet mignon and lobster tail - it was no better than Red Lobster (which I occasionally have to endure for work lunches, and not willingly). Petite doesn't mean you also cut the steak to half its thickness. Lobster tail was also overcooked and had a rubbery texture. I'm super disappointed, and for $200+ (no alcohol either!), what a waste of money. I can't believe they serve food like this willingly!"

  • "Food did not meet my expectation, plank salmon was over cooked and smothered in sauce, potatoes were overcooked and very dry. Service was slow, but server was polite. Price exceeds the quality by a lot. I did enjoy the live background music. We're still looking for a good quality seafood restaurant in the East bay that can compete with the likes of the Fish Market. We'll keep looking........."

  • "We come here for brunch occasionally throughout the year. Have been for quite a few years now. Pretty consistently good. The patrons can determine the quality of your experience. Service is generally above par. The only food change that I dislike is that they no longer do the waffles when you order them. They are now just out amongst the rest of the selections."

  • "Food was excellent. I had the Halibut and my wife had the Salmon. Everything else on the food side was great. I can't say the same about the service and ambiance. This is a fine dining restaurant and they have a giant TV at the bar in your face that you can see all over the restaurant. Ar they trying to become a Sports Bar? Also the service was very spotty. Our obviously inexperienced server never came back to pour wine and the wait for our appetizers was very slow. Then at the end of the meal she told me the restaurant doesn't accept American Express Or any) gift cards. I have used these gift cards there many times before. The manager accepted it but what could she have been thinking?"

  • "My fiance and I went there this weekend for his birthday dinner. We ordered drinks and appetizer (crab rangoons) which were very good. We then proceeded to sit there for another half hour before even getting to order our dinner! Our waiter kept walking by us very quickly so we were not even able to grab his attention. It was very frustrating. We ordered the seasonal items (macadamia halibut and wasabi glaze swordfish). While my meal was very good, my fiance said his swordfish was definitely overcooked and dry. I ordered him the key lime pie when I made the reservation and they brought it out with a candle so that was nice. They also took a pic of us and gave it to us to take home, so that was cute. I might go back during a less busy time."

  • "I found the restaurant to be very nice. When we arrived it was quiet and yet it took more time than I thought it would to be seated. Once seated, however, our server was ready for us. We did have a bit of a time trying to gain his attention once served. Overall the experience was very good. The food was excellent and exceeded out expectations. The menu had variety and everyone was able order something new or different. The salad was fresh and crisp, the chioppino was hearty and filling. This is a special occasion restaurant for us as it is a little pricy."

  • "Have been there many times; the food has waffled from 'uneven' to 'great' and the latter was the case last week. Pleasant staff. My oysters were fabulous. Large, ice cold, and very fresh. My husband's were stuffed with spinach and excellent. Our guests also enjoyed their dinner. Sitting in the garden with waterfall and lights is definitely romantic and usually peopled with young-ish folks. Good piano music but not intrusive or too loud. They took a very nice picture of us for our anniversary."
