Parking was a breeze due to their free valet parking. We were taken to our table immediately upon checking in. It took a few minutes to get a drink and to order our food but well worth it. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting food choices and alternatives. We brought our two children along which thankfully one of them behaved. Had a great time and experience. Scott's is a resort-style dining experience tucked into a beautifully-manicured area of downtown Walnut Creek, CA. It's food is good (~4/5), I'm told the wine selection is superb (although I don't drink), and the atmosphere is *amazing*. I've also dined at the Oakland location but it's just missing something. The food is always dependably good and the ambience is nice as I've never found it to be noisy. The food and service are always delicious and the ambiance on the weekends is great with a piano player and some soft jazz playing.
They always are very accommodating in modifying dishes to your taste / dietary requirements. And for your birthday, they give you a dessert with a candle, a rose, and take your picture. We love this place. It's 5 minutes from our house and you feel like you are in downtown San Francisco or some other big city. The bar music is sort of schmaltzy, but pretty charming after a few of their excellent Martinis or Manhattans. Excellent friendly staff and service, no parking hassles! WHAT? Just fine with us, so we left and come to Scott's. 18 mile drive but well worth every mile. If you have never been here, do not wait, you need to go now because they understand that you are not paying for the food you are paying for the service. Our champagne glasses were always filled. Somehow we missed the powdered pastries we saw on every table. I think they forgot to place one on ours. That was the little joke we had. The salad selection is fantastic. The entrees selection is also good. The desserts, I think, could do more. The best part of this restaurant is the live jazz in the background. The tables are more comfortable and less crowded, there's a beautiful garden with a waterfall, there's complimentary valet parking, and the wait staff is more attentive. Good wine list choice with good pricing. Decided on calamari to start. Best we ever had!!! I had the corn & crab bisque which was creamy and flavorable. My entree was crab encrusted swordfish, very tasty yet on the smaller side. My wife ordered the chipino which was full of seafood (so much we could not finish it, I had to help). The flavor of the chipino was lacking. Not really seasoned and needed some kick. Crusty bread and great atmospher. We were all able to talk to each other easily and enjoy the food and drinks. I had the calamari which is always good and my husband had the burger which he said was good too. I think everyone enjoyed their meals but the restaurant was cold. We were originally seated near the glass doors and that was cold and were moved up but unfortunately that table was close to the doors to the garage which meant a continual draft. Overall Scott's is always a great choice for the food, ambiance and the easy access with valet parking in the attached garage. We had the crab salad with a nice white wine. Was my friends birthday so we enjoyed talking forever. The waitstaff never pushed us. I will go back with my husband next time.
