Diner Reviews
  • "Very well done overall. I had the steak which was excellent, especially for a fish/seafood restaurant. Service was excellent. I would go back again for a special evening and it makes it easy if you have theater tickets because you can park there and stroll to SCR or Segerstrom."

  • "The food was very good - I had the crab cake Benedict - the service - our waiter - was not very attentive and at times hard to find. Overall Scott's is a great place for a very quiet Brunch - which is perfect for my hard of hearing uncle - and I would recommend it."

  • "Two reasons to have dinner at Scott's. Never disappointed with meals & service. Great place before going to the theatre!"

  • "We have been coming to Scotts now for several months on the Sundays that we have a matinee performance at the Segerstrom Center. It is so nice to valet park, enjoy a WONDERFUL meal with attentive service and then walk to the performance. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable on the menu - great bloody mary carts, plentiful mimosas - we love the huevos rancheros, eggs benedict, burger, pulled pork pancake - next time we will be trying the paella. Our server this past time, Alfredo, was delightful - so professional and so fun! Scotts is our go-to restaurant - we are coming back this week for dinner."

  • "This is a good place for a business meeting or quiet special occasion. I wanted to eat light, so had a salad that wasn't very good. But I have been here before and had some good things."

  • "Went to Scott's for Sunday brunch. Everything was great from the food to the service. We were the first people there at 11:30am, so there wasn't much of a vibe happening and they hadn't opened the patio yet. Even by the end of our meal we were still nearly alone in the restarant."

  • "Had a lovely exeperience with out of country guests for Father's Day dinner. Wonderful seafood and drinks. Thanks!"

  • "The food was good. Service was not bad (polite, etc.) but they forgot our coffee. Then they forgot our tea. Then they brought out a wrongly prepared dish. But they did compensate us and the food here is really good. So overall, recommended for seafood lovers."

  • "Service was excellent -- server visited the table several times. Food was served quickly - and the special touch was the cheesecake stuffed beignets, a perfect ending to our meal."

  • "We arrived early, but they were able to take us in 20 minutes before our reservation. The food and it's presentation were very enjoyable. They seem to be able to handle special requests as I heard other tables order food and they would ask the waiter to make it spicy or not. They definitely know how to cook fish. None of our fish dishes were overcooked."

  • "Scotts was one of the best places to have steak, and we have dined at Scotts multiple times. They recently changed their name, and this was our first visit after the name change happened Unfortunately the food quality has suffered tremendously. They were given multiple tries to get the steak cooked at the right temperature, but they failed to get it right. It was overcooked multiple times and dry. The mushrooms and vegetables lacked the taste and presentation which used to be a hallmark at this restaurant. The only positive was the service which was excellent. Even the manager tried to help out and resolve the situation, but sub par food cannot be made up for by great service."

  • "My parents live in Los Angeles and my wife and I live in San Diego. Scott's is our new "halfway" meeting spot for a "family meal." Lunches are quiet and easy with great food and a terrific, well priced menu. The service is efficient but never rushed and the whole experience very relaxing. We love the Paella so much - but it is only served on Sunday. We are grateful that the chef was willing to make it for us (with advanced notice) on a Saturday as that was the only day we could all get together. The whole staff is great - the waiter that we had on a prior visit even stopped by the table to welcome us back and say, "Hello." We're looking forward to the next visit."

  • "I'm afraid this will be our last visit to Scott's. My wife's lunch entree, seafood linguini, was served lukewarm with stuck-together and lumpy pasta. The beer batter on my fish (fish and chips) was soggy and bland and did not adhere to the fish. Too bad. Scott's used to be a favorite of ours, particularly for a pre-show dinner."

  • "We arrived at 6. We were not served dinner until 7:15 and needed to get to the symphony by 8. Oysters were good. Snapper was tough and I chocked on the small bones that were difficult to pull out. It is an expensive restaurant"

  • "We ran late. But they were still very nice and sat us down very quickly . The spot wasn't crowded so that was very nice . The service was good. The food was good too. It was our first time here so we were left with a good vibe. we shall go again. =)"

  • "The restaurant had a great table for a large party. We had a party of 11 and there was room for several more. The staff was very attentive, all food came out very quickly and drinks were never empty. Two of our party shared the steak for 2, it was a great presentation we all enjoyed!"

  • "Seems to me the food quality is much higher than I recall from a year ago. Excellent service - Ryan was friendly, charming and quick as we were heading to an event. Only suggestion - blue cheese stuffed iolives could use improvement. Blye cheese was tasteless and olives on the small side. Not a place to scrimp when everything else is so good!"

  • "Took my picky friends here that were from Encino and they've been raving about it. They loved the different kind of oysters, food is well prepared but most of all the excellent service! Went back and took my future mom in law and she loved it too! Someone is always there to check on you if you need anything, fill water glasses, if food is well prepared, etc. Now she's going back to bring out of town guests there. The entrance is beautiful too!"

  • "It took our 40 minutes before anyone came by to take our drink order. Our server did not identify herself as our server, we had to ask to place our order, and I had to ask her to pre order our souffle as she never offered it to us. The food and drink are not sufficiently good enough to make me want to go back. I've received better customer service at Target."

  • "We chose Scotts for it convenience to OCPA theater. Valet parking makes it easy to dine, walk to theater, then leave. Staff makes sure you aren't lake for curtain call. Food was great. Sushi, oysters, short rib ravioli. That was appetizers. 20 Oz New York, halibut and sole for dinner. We were treated to lobster bisque, not my favorite, but a very nice gesture. "Donuts" and coffee were also comp'ed. Chose an Italian Brunello for our wine. All said, it was a great choice."

  • "If you're looking for a great night out at the theater Scott's is perfect. The food is outstanding with very formal service. Then it is a short walk to the performing arts center. It's great to skip the hassle of the parking structure. After the show we went back in for dessert. "

  • "We made reservations at Scott's before the show and had the fixed price meal. It was fantastic. I had a delicious seabass with a tasty fresh spinach salad. The dessert was also a treat --cheesecake beignets!! I will definitely be going back."

  • "This was our 1st time there for my friend's b-day. When we got seated, no one came by to welcome us or take our drink order. We viewed the restaurant & saw several waiters & waitresses, & men dressed in black suits. We finally had to call one of the men in black to find out why no one has stopped by. He apologized & offered to open the bottle of wine we had brought, & told us about certain items on the menu. Another 20 min. or so goes by, & still a waiter never stopped by. We saw a waiter approaching but he passed us & greeted the table next to us who just got there. We called him afterwards & asked if we were invisible b/c the moment we sat down, we received no service & not impressed with the service at all. Service after that improved. "

  • "Came here for pre-show dinner, and was delighted that they offered a Pre-fixe menu which states "enjoy dessert after the show". We thought it was perfect to have coffee and dessert after the show. I specifically asked the server how this works, he assured me to just show my receipt and "we'll take care of you." We did so as planned, except the server for dessert and coffee acted like we were trying to get out of paying for dessert. She made us wait for over 5 minutes while they verified that we REALLY did not get a dessert earlier. Did not even apologize for making us wait, instead handed us the check with an attitude stating "just leave it at the counter." Not the way to treat customers who just spent close to $200 on dinner for 2."

  • "The food and service is always excellent. It's my "go to" restaurant for business lunches.....and my wife and I enjoy going at least once a month for dinner."

  • "I often eat here. Close to theaters and parking is affordable. Service is always good as is the food. However, at times the noise level is so high that it is difficult to have a decent conversation. Don't go here if you're in a romantic mood. "
