We had dinner after a play at the Center. We were also celebrating an anniversary. We were led to our table immediately and our waiter was fantastic! He was quick and efficient, gave us many suggestions and asked if we were attending a play. This restaurant is always alert to the timing element for plays. We were not under any time constraints so he never rushed us but made our dining experience delightful. The food was great - I had swordfish and my husband had the seabass and we shared. Both were excellent. The food was also presented well and was hot - this is extremely important to us and many restaurants fall short on this. Since it was our anniversary, they offered a free dessert as well. It was an excellent meal in a restaurant that never disappoints.

We went to Scott's before a show at Seagerstrom. The server anticipated that and our service was prompt. The appetizers were great. I enjoyed the unique cevice and my wife had fresh oysters. For our main courses I had chipino and my wife had artic char. The chipino was awesome. I think the best I have ever had. The artic char was a rare treat. I don't think I have ever seen it on a menu before. It was awesome as well. The restrauant is impeccably kept, spotless, modern. Then noise level was reasonable. Everyone of the people that we came in contact with from the restrauant was courteous and helpful. I had been there several times for business lunches. It was the first dinner there with my wife. I highly recommend it.

We reserved through Open Table two days in advance. When we arrived, the hostess directed us to a "chef's table" near the kitchen where we'd be sharing with other guests. I told her we'd like a booth or a four top table. The hostess told us all booths had already been reserved, but she'd see if she could get us a table. She left us by the table by the kitchen and returned to the reception stand. My companion and I followed a minute later and witnessed the hostess and a man who appeared to be the manager speaking about our request. The manager was unaware of our presence until the hostess pointed us out. He then told us that he had no other tables available. I explained that I wanted a table for four which is what I reserved, not a table for twenty by the kitchen. He said they were very busy that night and reminded me that we had only reserved through Open Table two days ago. I explained that if they did not have any tables for four available two days ago, they should not have accepted the reservation. Miraculously, he was able to find a table for four and we were seated. Unfortunately, the table wobbled and I asked the bus boy if he had a shim. First he told me that he didn't have a shim and the table wasn't wobbling too bad. Seeing that I wasn't satisfied with that answer, he offered to re-seat us at another table that was stable. We accepted and were shown to another table that sat firmly on the floor, but with seats that were broken. That was remedied and eventually we had a very tasty meal with good service from our waiter. Still, I'd be very reluctant to go back or to recommend Scott's to a friend, even though I've had many good meals there. Perhaps I'm dreaming, but I had the impression that the restaurant was not as solicitous of customers who reserved through Open Table. That's a big problem that must be fixed.

The ambiance is OK, although if you want any sense of privacy, or intimacy--forget it! In addition, the acoustics are terrible! It is so noisy that it is hard to have a conversation. Don't count on the requests that you might make with your reservation either. We requested a booth, at the time of making the reservation, and were given a small two-top with an explanation that the booths had been booked out for over 45 days (not even near to plausible). The service was pleasant enough but slow. The food was nicely prepared--but there was no real creativity or originality and the entrees were barely warm when we got them. Definitely not worth the price. Next time we go to the theatre we will be enjoying dinner at one of the many other options in the area.

We went before a Symphony on a night that Boradway show also was going on - lots of people. Scott's was set for it and the best deal is using valet parking for both venues. The crowds were raging even though it was early evening. The noise was extremely loud so it was very hard to talk. Menu was great and our server was ready for the tight schedules of the guests while being friendly and helpful. Given the pressure on the kitchen, the food was excellent, great presentation, hot and tasty. The drinks were generous and wine is measured. Extensive wine list by the glass. We just moved to area from Silicon Valley and this was first experience out. Read some not so good reviews but our experience was excellent given the pressure of two large performances bringing crowds, noise and tight deadlines. We will likely become regulars.

I love that Scott's has changed up their menu, and our evening started out well with attentive, helpful service, but every time we would look for our waiter he was literally not on the floor. we had to ask available wait staff, for a variety of things. Then, after some 30 mins with us playing cards to pass the time, he came to ask how the lemon meyer soufflé was. WE STILL DIDN'T HAVE IT!!! He had told us when we offered the dessert menu after our dinner, it would take 20 mins, (something that is usually disclosed when ordering entrees), but disappeared. We asked where he'd been, and he'd reportedly been called to another area. POOR. Despite all these issues, the food was VERY good and the soufflé was exceptional! Worth a trip!

We dined at Scott's on Saturday night and had a poor experience. The food was mediocre; the cioppino was like tomato bisque and had very few clams/muscles (mostly just calamari). The filet my wife ordered was "okay", but nothing spectacular. Finally, their creme brulee was awful! It had the consistency of cheese cake, including a cake-like crust. I sent it back, and the manager approached us AFTER we paid the bill to argue with me that this was indeed creme brulee (as I argued that creme brulee is served as a light custard in a ramekin, not a cake). I'm grateful the friends I dined with made the dinner enjoyable, despite the mediocre fare and awful service. Won't go here again, that's for sure.

Scott's just is not what it once was. The food presentation is just plain sloppy...We had the 'dry scallops' but the menu did not list that it came with a lemon-pepper emulsion. Quite a surprise, especially since the scallops were virtually swimming in the emulsion. It was just a big glop of 'sauce' smothering the scallops. This has been our experience time and time again. While the quality of the fish is superior (and becoming ever so pricey), the presentation destroys the dish. On a previous visit we ordered the whole Thai snapper....but the server simply had no idea how to fillet the darn fish. What a mess. Scott's is rapidly pricing itself out of the market and needs to rethink it's menu and food presentation extensively.

I made an reservation on "Open Table" with a note that it was my daughter's birthday. The waiter Chad was very helpful on giving us recommendations as this was our first time to Scott's. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was really good. I ordered the ribeye steak, which I thought had too strong of a rosemary like sweetness to the steak. The front desk must have not read my request on open table that it was my daughter's birthday as they did nothing.

I used to love Scott's Seafood. A few years ago they changed the décor to sterile and modern and they changed the menu choices to weird and trendy. I have been there 3 times since, never my idea. Despite reservations, we always get a bad table, near the kitchen or other awkward place. There is always a lot of noise coming from the bar on weekends. There are only a few things on the menu I am remotely interested in eating. The prices are very high. $75 for a New York steak - really? If I want a good steak I'll got to Morton's or Mastro's, and pay less than that, and have a great table. The fish I have eaten there tastes good, but the menu selections are...unfortunate. There are SO MANY BETTER restaurants to go to!

I realize we were all going to the theater, but we felt like cattle, in where we were seated and how folks acted. Food was pricey and mediocre…my husband ordered the seafood linguini…and it for sure was spaghetti and really full of red sauce…my mahi magi was overcooked….capuccino machine was broken…as a whole not the greatest experience. The waiter was pleasant enough but would disappear for long periods…we would have to ask the bus boy for things we wanted.

We were visiting the area to see Tony Bennett. Hadn't been to Scotts in a number of years. They didn't disappoint! Had a very knowledgeable waiter, who easily and professionally described the food items we asked about. The Calamari was the best we have had anywhere. Presentation and quality of the food was outstanding! And a great plus to be able to leave our car at the restaurant and walk over to the theatre. And the line was very quick after the theatre, to get our car back. Any time we are in Orange Country we will definitely be having a meal at Scott's again. Just wonderful.

We dine at Scott's frequently because of its proximity to the theater. Generally, the food is reliably good. It was not this evening. Peruvian Ceviche was not the least bit Peruvian (and I have enjoyed a good deal of cheviche in Peru). The one variety of seafood was tough, it was made with a dominant tasting green sauce rather than with the natural juices from the fish and veggies. I don't recommend it. My husband's bowl of seafood Linguini was disappointing as well. It had too much sugar and the sauce dominated the seafood. Must be a new chief - hope they get back to clean tasting seafood dishes which was their strength.
