Scott's just is not what it once was. The food presentation is just plain sloppy...We had the 'dry scallops' but the menu did not list that it came with a lemon-pepper emulsion. Quite a surprise, especially since the scallops were virtually swimming in the emulsion. It was just a big glop of 'sauce' smothering the scallops. This has been our experience time and time again. While the quality of the fish is superior (and becoming ever so pricey), the presentation destroys the dish. On a previous visit we ordered the whole Thai snapper....but the server simply had no idea how to fillet the darn fish. What a mess. Scott's is rapidly pricing itself out of the market and needs to rethink it's menu and food presentation extensively.

I made an reservation on "Open Table" with a note that it was my daughter's birthday. The waiter Chad was very helpful on giving us recommendations as this was our first time to Scott's. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was really good. I ordered the ribeye steak, which I thought had too strong of a rosemary like sweetness to the steak. The front desk must have not read my request on open table that it was my daughter's birthday as they did nothing.

I used to love Scott's Seafood. A few years ago they changed the décor to sterile and modern and they changed the menu choices to weird and trendy. I have been there 3 times since, never my idea. Despite reservations, we always get a bad table, near the kitchen or other awkward place. There is always a lot of noise coming from the bar on weekends. There are only a few things on the menu I am remotely interested in eating. The prices are very high. $75 for a New York steak - really? If I want a good steak I'll got to Morton's or Mastro's, and pay less than that, and have a great table. The fish I have eaten there tastes good, but the menu selections are...unfortunate. There are SO MANY BETTER restaurants to go to!

I realize we were all going to the theater, but we felt like cattle, in where we were seated and how folks acted. Food was pricey and mediocre…my husband ordered the seafood linguini…and it for sure was spaghetti and really full of red sauce…my mahi magi was overcooked….capuccino machine was broken…as a whole not the greatest experience. The waiter was pleasant enough but would disappear for long periods…we would have to ask the bus boy for things we wanted.

We were visiting the area to see Tony Bennett. Hadn't been to Scotts in a number of years. They didn't disappoint! Had a very knowledgeable waiter, who easily and professionally described the food items we asked about. The Calamari was the best we have had anywhere. Presentation and quality of the food was outstanding! And a great plus to be able to leave our car at the restaurant and walk over to the theatre. And the line was very quick after the theatre, to get our car back. Any time we are in Orange Country we will definitely be having a meal at Scott's again. Just wonderful.

I had not been here for a couple of years, but had an occasion to visit this week. The food was as good as I remembered, with generous choices of both surf and turf. While there are numerous gluten-free options on the menu, the seasonal selections are very well presented and prepared. I would continue to higly rate the food and service, as this is a great place to conduct a business lunch or dinner.

Scott's is one of the only restaurants where I dine consistently and always order the same thing: Chilean Seabass w/Sake kasu, sushi rice, baby spinach - it's always perfect and just right for a pre-theater meal. Service, ambiance, and easy access to OC's performing arts stages all make this my ideal go-to dining choice for a Big Night out! Oh yes and everything else on the menu is wonderful too . . but that's for other reviewers to claim.

We dine at Scott's frequently because of its proximity to the theater. Generally, the food is reliably good. It was not this evening. Peruvian Ceviche was not the least bit Peruvian (and I have enjoyed a good deal of cheviche in Peru). The one variety of seafood was tough, it was made with a dominant tasting green sauce rather than with the natural juices from the fish and veggies. I don't recommend it. My husband's bowl of seafood Linguini was disappointing as well. It had too much sugar and the sauce dominated the seafood. Must be a new chief - hope they get back to clean tasting seafood dishes which was their strength.

A beautiful facility, ample parking, attentive service and outstanding food--what else could one want? What a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant with moderate noise, tablecloths, low background music and delicious food. After a while, small plates, industrial decor and loud music get old very quickly. The heirloom tomatoes and burrata cheese were superb. The pasta and seafood dish had an outstanding red sauce. Bread was promptly brought and water was refilled without asking. There is a wide selection of wines by the glass from many countries. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice evening out.

We drove 2 hours from Los Angeles. My wife and I randomly booked Scott's for a pre-theater dinner prior to attending our first visit to Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts (which is just around the corner from Scotts.) What a lucky event for us! The food was wonderful and the service was attentive without being bothersome. The restaurant was beautiful. It was both spacious and homey. ...The only hiccup? I ordered a sushi appetizer and half-way thru I realized the waiter had brought me the wrong one. When he corrected his mistake, it was so good I offered to pay for both ...Valet parking allowed us to keep our car at Scott's and we walked over to the Theater to enjoy the show. Scott's made this all the easier. Good food! Good memories!

Visited opening Friday of Costa Mesa's restaurant week. Expectations were high. Our first course, we had calamari and short rib ravioli. Calamari blew us away with flavor; ravioli tasted like it was frozen (extremely small portion, dry, hard and null of flavor too). We opted to order the caprese style salad and lobster bisque between our restaurant week entree course. Both were amazing! Then flat iron steak which was tender, juicy and loaded with flavor thanks to the chimichurri sauce. My date had the Ono tuna; it was decent, slightly overcooked, she was not impressed. Desserts were decent. Service was impeccable! Bravo to both sides of the house overall! Don't miss out on the calamari; best part of our meal, with the bisque close second.

Having been to Scott's for special occasions many times, I believe the food has gone down hill. The normally wonderful sour dough bread was well below par. The clam chowder not up to previous times. Entrees good, but dessert tiny and not good. I will think long and hard before returning to such an expensive place for only fair food. The wait staff was however excellent.
