A word from Scoozi
The restaurant focuses on high quality and made-from-scratch cooking perfect for sharing. Start with one of the fine, brick-oven pizzas – maybe a white pizza bianca with homemade fresh mozzarella – then move on to one of several antipasti, perfect for sharing with friends. Pastas are imported from Italy or made in house, with so many delicious choices you may opt to try one of the three-version plates of our kitchen-fresh gnocchi or ravioli.

Scoozi's Wine Spectator-award-winning wine list ranges from half-bottles to three-liter giants, and you'll find over 30 wines by the glass, as well as Italian specialty cocktails and cordials made in-house from fresh fruit.

  • "Found out on our last visit (April 13) that Scoozi will be no more at the end of this month. Some very sad news for us as Scoozi has been our go-to Italian restaurant in Chicago for 25 years. We will miss you so! And thanks to our waiter Roberto for making our last visit memorable! "

  • "So sad Scoozi is closing. We had a great evening reminiscing about all the great memories that were made there. And the food, drinks and service were great!!"

  • "The food at Scoozi remains excellent. The service was great. We have dined here many times over the years and it's always a great experience. It's a real shame that the restaurant is closing."

  • "Went for one last dinner before they close the doors the end of April. Great as usual and we will be sorry to see them go. Our server, Bruno said that staff has been relocated to other restaurants which is such good news."

  • "I've had a $50 gift card for any Lettuce Entertain You restaurant for awhile now and I decided to use it for my birthday dinner. I have never eaten at a LEY restaurant but I chose Scoozi for its location and menu. Upon arriving and before eating, I was really pleased by the outside appearance as well as the inside. A very attractive place and formal but not overwhelming; there's still an element of casualness that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. Food and service were great. My friends and I had a hard time choosing what to eat because there's lots of great options. The food came out very timely and it did not disappoint; very hot, fresh, and tasty! I will definitely be returning before their final closing, go while you can, people!"

  • "We love our neighborhood Italian Restaurant and we are SO sad that it is closing it's doors. We'll definitely be trying to get in as many times as possible before 4.30!"

  • "Kale salad and fried calamari were highlights...pasta was undercooked and sauce was "gloppy". Looked like the big groups at tables around us were really enjoying the pizza."

  • "We had a reservation and upon arrival we were greeted and told it would be a few moments for our table that we could order a drink at the bar. That took forever!!! We had to wait for our drinks and to close out and our table was ready for 10 min. Other than that, food wine and atmosphere was so good!!!"

  • "Not many places in Chicago (in my opinion) that you can have a well rounded (and delicious) meal for 2 under $100. My husband & I shared 2 appetizers, each had an entree, he had 2 beers, I had 2 glasses of wine, we shared a dessert and we both had coffee. Everything was great. They really have the best olive oil/freshly grated cheese for bread dipping. I've yet to find an olive oil I like better. Disappointing they are closing, always a gem!"

  • "Returned to try something new on the menu. We had Caesar salads, the risotto special and the butternut squash ravioli and all were delicious. We will be sad to see this neighborhood gem close soon."
    Dined on 4/3/2014
  • "Quite clear that the staff are no longer putting in much effort now that the restaurant is set to close later this month. Inattentive and slow service, appetizers forgotten until entrees are ready, dishes missing half their sauce, etc."

  • "This was our first, and sadly, our last visit to this restaurant. I have always wanted to eat here, but never got it accomplished. When I heard they were closing the restaurant after 25 years, I immediately booked a reservation. It was a great meal, attentive staff, lovely space, packed to the gills, and it is a shame that it will be leaving the Chicago area at the end of April. If you have never eaten here, you should before they close their doors forever."

  • "I have been going to Scoozi since it first opened and there was nothing else notable around it. The food was spectacular and the restaurant was buzzing all the time. Fast forward 10 years ago. We moved to river north and although some food items weren't amazing, they were good. I love that we could bring our daughter and dog to eat. I love the kids make their own pizza on Sunday night. I love the drink list. The service has fluctuated from superb to ok. It's still a gem."

  • "We wanted to make sure that we got to come here one last time before it closes. We've been coming here for 20 years and have always had a good meal and a nice time! Sorry to see it go."

  • "My husband and I would go to Scoozi all the time before we had kids. Twenty years and 4 kids later - we finally made it back. We had tried other times but it never seemed to work out. It was better than we remembered. We ordered bruschetta, veal meatballs, penne arrabiata, shrimp risotto.......When we heard they are closing we wondered if we should go, thinking there must be a reason. They were packed, food was OUTSTANDING, and service was great. So sorry to see Scoozi go."

  • "We love Scoozi's and are very disappointed that they will be closing. It is our go to spot. Love the food, the prices are reasonable, the staff is always friendly and the place is always busy. WHY CLOSE?"

  • "I can see why it's closing soon. Just not up to date any more. It was fun to come one last time after many years' hiatus, though."

  • "Hadn't been here in years but my recollection was so much more than I actually experienced this week. When I read they were closing I felt I HAD to go there one last time, but was disappointed in taste and selection of food. It was okay, but not the delicious experience I had in the past."

  • "We had to make one more trip to Scoozi before it closed. The waiter, bus boy and other staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, as always. We will miss this great restaurant."

  • "I can't believe the Melmans are closing Scoozi! It was our "go to" place in the city when we wanted to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. We will try to make it back before their closing date of 4/30/14. I'm soooooo sad and disappointed. :(((((("

  • "Scoozi is by far one of my all time favorite restaurants! From walking in to dining, the experience and service is exceptional and the food is always superb. For any occasion, it's the place to go if you're looking for delicious food, knowledgeable staff and an energetic, divine experience!"

    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Scoozi was a great restaurant for 20+ years but announced they were closing recently. Staff that is remaining are either transplants from other LEY restaurants or checked out. Service has gone down hill. Said to see a great place go down hill so fast."

  • "We heard scoozi was closing in April, so decided we needed at least 1last hurrah. As always, everything was terrific, chicken cacciatore, butternut squash ravioli and the tilapia special. All was great. Also enjoyed the Brussel sprout salad and caprese salad. Apple ravioli tart to end was out of sight. So long scoozi, we'll look forward to your replacement ."

  • "I am so sad they are closing. The food, the service is the best & an extremely comfortable restaurant. Even though the restaurant is expansive, the tables r set up in such a way that you can have cozy dinners & good conversation."
