A word from Scoozi
The restaurant focuses on high quality and made-from-scratch cooking perfect for sharing. Start with one of the fine, brick-oven pizzas – maybe a white pizza bianca with homemade fresh mozzarella – then move on to one of several antipasti, perfect for sharing with friends. Pastas are imported from Italy or made in house, with so many delicious choices you may opt to try one of the three-version plates of our kitchen-fresh gnocchi or ravioli.

Scoozi's Wine Spectator-award-winning wine list ranges from half-bottles to three-liter giants, and you'll find over 30 wines by the glass, as well as Italian specialty cocktails and cordials made in-house from fresh fruit.

My wife and I had one of our first dates at this restaurant and a few years later when we moved into the area, it became a staple in our week as we would become regulars for their $5 pizza Wednesdays. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation for the last night the restaurant was open and it was just as enjoyable as ever in their last hours. We'll miss the place but whatever they do with the building next, it will always be filled with great memories.

It is unfortunate that Lettuce Entertain You has decided to close Scoozi. The restaurant has always offered great food, ambiance and service. In addition, I have always been a fan of Sunday evenings when kids can make their own pizza. My kids always loved that and many a Sunday night, whoever was free from my neighborhood would go to Scoozi to take advantage of the kid-friendly event. Tonight was no exception to what we have come to expect from Scoozi - great food and atmosphere. Wish the restaurant was going to stay around.

So sad to lose it. While I understand that LEYE is looking to make more money in the area, one of the reasons that Scoozi is so popular and such a beloved place in the area is that it is consistently high quality food with good service at affordable prices! We came almost every week. I just don't see having the same kind of environment with a more expensive place.

I hadn't been to Scoozi in years, and enjoyed my most recent visit. My companions each had the flatbread pizza, I had the butternut squash ravioli. All were excellent. Prices are very reasonable, wine list diverse and also price friendly. I am also impressed with the sound level. With such a large, open room, I would expect noise level to be high. Not so... we could still enjoy conversation.

I haven't been to Scoozi's in a number of years, but when I learned it was closing persuaded a friend to go with me to say goodbye. The wait staff were all lovely and took very good care of us. We celebrated a happy work event of my friend's by ordering a glass of champagne, so the waiter gave us a lovely dessert after dinner. We were so full, we could barely eat the delicious chocolate cake, but it was so nice of him to do that. I live on the north side, so eat most often at RJ Grunts among the various LEYE restaurants. If Scoozi had been located somewhere closer, I'm sure I'd have gone there more often. Goodbye to a really fantastic place for dinner.

Scoozi is closing this coming weekend, so we decided to stop in for one last meal there. Everything was pretty good, not overwhelming, but a pleasant Italian meal. The fresh bread is excellent, the ambiance remains enjoyable. Like a couple other reviews, our waiter seemed a little disinterested in anything more than the basics. He was attentive enough but seemed a little checked out. Either way, a nice meal and too bad Scoozi will be gone...

I've had a $50 gift card for any Lettuce Entertain You restaurant for awhile now and I decided to use it for my birthday dinner. I have never eaten at a LEY restaurant but I chose Scoozi for its location and menu. Upon arriving and before eating, I was really pleased by the outside appearance as well as the inside. A very attractive place and formal but not overwhelming; there's still an element of casualness that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. Food and service were great. My friends and I had a hard time choosing what to eat because there's lots of great options. The food came out very timely and it did not disappoint; very hot, fresh, and tasty! I will definitely be returning before their final closing, go while you can, people!

Not many places in Chicago (in my opinion) that you can have a well rounded (and delicious) meal for 2 under $100. My husband & I shared 2 appetizers, each had an entree, he had 2 beers, I had 2 glasses of wine, we shared a dessert and we both had coffee. Everything was great. They really have the best olive oil/freshly grated cheese for bread dipping. I've yet to find an olive oil I like better. Disappointing they are closing, always a gem!

I have been going to Scoozi since it first opened and there was nothing else notable around it. The food was spectacular and the restaurant was buzzing all the time. Fast forward 10 years ago. We moved to river north and although some food items weren't amazing, they were good. I love that we could bring our daughter and dog to eat. I love the kids make their own pizza on Sunday night. I love the drink list. The service has fluctuated from superb to ok. It's still a gem.

This was our first, and sadly, our last visit to this restaurant. I have always wanted to eat here, but never got it accomplished. When I heard they were closing the restaurant after 25 years, I immediately booked a reservation. It was a great meal, attentive staff, lovely space, packed to the gills, and it is a shame that it will be leaving the Chicago area at the end of April. If you have never eaten here, you should before they close their doors forever.
