Diner Reviews
  • "Easter brunch, so yum. Great price for a good amount of food. awesome waiter, she absolutely killed it "

  • "The restaurant should refresh both the menu and the decor."

  • "The menu/location of this restaurant made it a good choice for our party. Entrees included fruit, right inside the door, not very appetizing or appealing. They called to confirm my reservation a day before and informed me that our party wouldn't be seated until we all were there and that there MAY be a two hour table limit. Slow service for a table time limit, and they weren't busy enough to not seat me - there was NO seating or any place convenient to stand inside - I crossed the street to a Starbucks! The "hype" seemed to overpower the service element of Scion. It was good, but really not outstanding The breakfast potatoes (almost like a potato chip!) and bottomless mimosas were excellent. And pretty affordable for the area."

  • "We came for brunch with a large group, and Scion was very accommodating of our party size and last minute changes. The fruit bar was only so-so, but the omelettes and breakfast sandwiches were all delicious. Scion was also very good at keeping the bottomless drinks flowing."

  • "It was my bf and I's first time dining here (brunch). We were seated w.in a few mins upon arrival. The restaurant was packed despite the rain, not to mention loud (luckily, we got good seating). We had high expectations based on all the good reviews and surely enough, they did not disappoint. Ordered their crab cake benedict, lobster hash, and their custom omelette (ham + egg whites + mozarella + 3 veggie toppings). Food was great, def met our expectations. If there is anything to criticize: it would've been nice if our server had informed us of their fruit buffet (included in most entrees), and would've been great if she had recommended desserts. All in all, we'd recommend Scion to our friends, and dine again in the future."

  • "We were visiting from Florida and I found this nice little place. We ended up eating dinner here for our entire trip. The food is very good, but Hilda the waitress is what really did it for is. She was so attentive to our needs and made us feel right at home. If we ever make it back to DC, we will surely dine here again."

  • "The food is excellent, the staff and friendly and attentive. Great menu with good variety."

  • "We had a great back room for our party of 8 and the waiter, Lucas was great. He was helpful with the menus and our water glasses were never empty. Each of us wasn't 100% satisfied with our main courses. I ordered the steak au poivre for $24.95 and asked for it to be cooked medium. It came with two small filets and one was medium rare while the other was well done. The restaurant worked out well overall, but some dinner items definitely are better than others."

  • "Wife and I were in D.C. with our 4 childeren. Made reservations online with Scion for 7:30p for 8 people. When we arrived at 7:28pm they were ready for us and we had no wait. Very good service. Nice mix of food and it was cooked as requested. The room and table were nice for conversation. The food was very good not great but the price matched and overall it was a high quality meal. I will go again the next time I am in D.C."

  • "Food was Ok. Expected the Botttomless Beer Bar. Not given to our group. Received conflicting prices on drinks from Management and from the Wait Staff. Had to provide orders on several occasions. Food orders were given to wrong persons."

  • "I picked Scion Restaurant because I needed a late evening reservation for 12 ladies on a bachelorette party. The ambience and the food were great! The menu was contemporary american and had a great twist on some notable dishes plus different dishes, like the Mediterranean duck pasta which was fabulous. This restaurant was recommended to me by a coworker and I would definitely go back there for a date night or group outing."

  • "I have been to this place multiple time for brunch, the food has been good and atmosphere fine. I decided to try it for dinner on a weeknight, as soon as we walked in (around 8:15pm) the manger gave us serious attitude and clearly does not like her job. - When we ordered a bottle of wine it was very clear, after tasting, the bottle had turned. - The food was good, but cold. The manager rejected anything we had to say, claiming she tasted the wine and was planning on serving to other customers. Again the food and alcohol selection was good and things happen (cold food, turned wine), but giving any sort of attitude and certainly telling the customer she is wrong is very unprofessional."

  • "We've been to their Silver Spring and DuPonte Circle locations and found them to be just fine. As a party of 7 last time, we found the atmosphere relaxing and the noise level just right."

  • "We made reservations for 2PM, we got there and were told that the table was being cleared. We waited for about 15 minutes. We started to get a little frustrated since the bottomless drink specials ended at 3:30, and we wanted to have time to get our money's worth. After our first 15 minutes of waiting the woman running the hostess stand told us that we could start our bottomless drinks at the bar.. something that would have been nice to know during our first 15 minutes of waiting. When we finally got a table, around 2:30 we got no apology for the fact that it was a half hour after our reservation time. OTHER than this initial issue, the bartender and waitress who served us were absolutely delightful and attentive! The food was great too!"

  • "Went here for something different for valentines day. Real good food. Huge beer list, nothing typical all craft beers. Good service. As a little surprise we were brought little cupcakes after dinner."

  • "Delicious fruit bar, bottomless mimosas, yummy brunch. EXCELLENT service!"

  • "chose Scion for a group brunch since we've had a wonderful experience there in the past, but it seems like there have been some changes that left it a little lacking. they added more tables where previously there had been space by the bar, probably due to the cold winter making the enclosed porch less desirable, but when you have a policy not to seat anyone without the full party, you run out of space fast. service was fine, food was pretty good (love those fried pickles!) but the baked brie, which i've had before, had changed format from a wedge to small skimpy slices on toast which was not what we had in mind or was worth the price. the fruit bar was underwhelming as usual (salted apples? weird) but nice to have available."

  • "good omlettes and nice bottomless option, although my bloody mary tasted a little odd. Best part was that although they limit you to sitting at your table for 2 hours, you can go to the bar and keep taking advantage of the bottomless deal. seems like a fair deal for everyone involved!"

  • "Went to Scion for brunch but much to our dismay found out it's only served on weekends. Too bad, as the menu was enticing. So, we had lunch which was a bit less enticing. One of us ordered a turkey sandwich which she later described as in edible, although she soldiered on in hopes of keeping everyone in the party eating. I'm a vegetarian and options were few: an unappealing portobello mushroom panini and several salads from which you could have the meat withheld. Generally, the overall opinion of the group was that the place was just mediocre."

  • "Salmon had a fishy taste to it and was dry. Several other food items were below par at best. Probably wouldn't go back."

  • "Close by to Fairfax hotel. It was empty for lunch but got a small crowd by the time we left. Salads and soups were delicious."

  • "Our group included an infant and toddler in a group of 9. They put us in a back room at a round table (which I always prefer!) and it was perfect. We could hear our conversation and felt like we had a private dining room. The service was excellent and our server was delightful. I have been there several times for brunch and have never been disappointed. Their fruit bar is always an added treat."

  • "I popped into Scion for dinner on a Friday night and was very disappointed with every aspect of the dinning experience Waiter didn't come by until 10 minutes after being seated, the ambiance was tacky, and the food was decent at best. They charged 11$+ for "special" drinks which came out un mixed and in rocks glasses. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. If you're in DuPont go elsewhere."

  • "Great brunch spot. I went on a Saturday with a group of 4 at 11:00 am as that was the only time we could get a reservation (so be sure to make yours well in advance). Deal was great, food was good, no complaints and will definitely return!"

  • "I had a wonderful experience at Scion on a Friday night. I had a reservation for 8 and they put us in our own small room with an open doorway and "window" cutout showing into the main dining area. The service was outstanding and our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and drink list. The noise level was appropriate for a Friday night - not too loud but not a quiet/ super romantic atmosphere. The appetizers and entrees arrived very promptly and were cooked to perfection. I will definitely go back!"

  • "Loved the chilled out and warm atmosphere of the place. The servers and host were very attentive to our needs, and made a birthday celebration very special. Don't miss the mouthwatering pumpkin ravioli and yogurt chicken!"

  • "It's a restaurant very accommodating for large groups, especially for brunch. The food, however, is nothing spectacular. They do offer a great deal on bottomless brunch drinks, which is likely why everyone comes here."

  • "Went with a group of 10 for brunch this past weekend and had a fantastic experience. The food was incredible, the service was superb, and we had a wonderful time! We all did the bottomless option and pitchers of each drink were brought out to our table throughout the meal. All the food was fresh and delicious. The mac and cheese was a favorite of the table, as was anything with lobster in it! We will definitely be going back :)"

  • "I made a reservation for Saturday brunch the day before for a party of 8, then 13, then 18, then 14 and they never batted an eye. Very accomodating, great service, up front about payment and seating policies, etc. Had very good food (breakfast potatoes were awesome), even better wait staff."

  • "Great prices and great food. The bottomless brunch is the way to go. My friend and I had sandwhiches which were quite awesome actually! The food was top notch, but the service was incredible as well! Bethany, our server, was simply awesome. She was a delight to have as a server!"

  • "Scion was very accommodating for our Christmas group lunch. They offer a 3-course fixed price lunch which had a good number of offering per course. The food was good, not great. I am interested in visiting again to try some other items on their menu."

  • "the place is worth visiting... i was there for brunch but imagine it's as nice on a normal day."

  • "Went to Scion for dinner with a friend, and it was a very pleasant experience. The food was good, the service was attentive but not too pushy, and the best part of it was they let us order happy hour pricing even though we were seated for dinner (so our apps and drinks were cheaper!)"

  • "I had teh crab omelette and it was very yummy- the feta cheese gave it that perfect touch! The coffee was a little bitter and serving costco green tea is a little strange but I guess it works. I love Scion's fruit bar- it is original, healthy and innovative. This is one of the things that attracts me to Scion."

  • "a group of us went to this restaurant and we're blown away with the service and quality of food. We ordered the mac n cheese, pumpkin ravioli, spicy yogurt chicken, and the salmon and each dish was amazing! the server we had was adorable and very knowledgeable about the menu. she gave us great recommendations. Portion sizes were perfect. We will definitely be going back to try out the rest of the menu because everything looked really good as it came out of the kitchen."
