I had high expectations going in and the experience started positively after the staff held our reservation despite our running late. Nevertheless, the food and service were both really lacking. I ordered a veggie burger which was totally, totally bland and uninteresting. The fries, honestly, weren't much better. The highlight was the bun. As a vegetarian, I'm really frustrated by restaurants that put very little effort into providing something special for non-meat eaters. My dining partner ordered chicken tenders, which also were not-so-good, and fries, which he never received. The server didn't check in with us until we were nearly done eating. The drinks were weak & pricey. Likely never returning. Totally below average.

As expected, service was excellent - friendly and helpful, including bringing a taste of the soup to aid in choosing. Mac and cheese is outstanding and all the meals were delicious. Great place to eat before heading in to hear the music.

The mac and cheese was really good. Their wings were also good - not too spicy but not too mild. The nachos were too many chips, not enough cheese but the burger was good. They also have good salads. Its a great place for casual eats and is near Theater Wit and Stage 773. Surprisingly, their music/bar venue next door does not intrude much on the restaurant. They've done a great job of insulating the sound. Service was attentive and fun.

The restaurant had a casual, unique vibe. My group and I had a table right in the front with an open window for an inside/outside dining atmosphere. There was also a decent variety of food and beer selections. Everyone was happy with their meals and we will definitely be returning to Schuba's for dinner, drinks, or both.

I have stopped into Schubas several times for a beer and appetizer, as well as enjoyed many live music venues. I was curious about the restaurant, but never made it a point to go until this past Valentine's Day. It was last minute, and, without OpenTable, I would've passed up Schubas as an option. I'm glad I didn't. The staff was friendly and very attentive with a neighborhood feel (not formal). I liked the copper plated tables and warm tones. There was no live music, but we expect to go back for the acoustic brunch. Entrees were moderately priced and good, made to order martinis were well done, but the wine pour could use a little more "Irish". I would go for the sandwiches/ lighter fare next time.

Basic- with some twists- good food. Mac & cheese a specialty- with all kinds of ingredients available to add (for a cost). The tables on either side of us had a couple ordering a mac * cheese and splitting it. So - portion is good and that seems to be the thing to do (we ordered a side of mac and cheese so we could taste it but neither ordered it as main meal. I, being a vegetarian but not a vegan - would probably go back just to have a full portion).
