The otherwise bland stretch of Old Todd’s Road belies the elegance and sophistication of the restaurant’s cool interior, and of the food. School occupies a cozy, cheerful space with colorful wooden geometric patterned walls and minimalistic furniture. The ingredients range far and wide and straddle the familiar to foreign. Sushi transported on a conveyor system which can be selected at the patron’s convenience takes center stage. If sushi does not strike your fancy I especially like what School does with French selections. Don’t be fooled, this is authentic French. School also boasts a Culinary Cocktail Lounge (one of a kind in Lexington), 40+ different bottles of wine & shochu, and a private karaoke room that can be reserved by the hour. While located in heart of the Bluegrass you will definitely feel you have been transported to a much larger city for the evening.Continued

The service was very good.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have an interesting listThey have an interesting list appetizers and I'd recommend the duck and Camembert spring rolls, which are decent-sized, tasty and generously filled. For the entrees, the seafood mixed fry was good and included an oyster and a scallop. The pan-fried chicken, despite the poorer ingredients, was a remarkable dish, with a surprisingly good tomato sauce - being from Italy, I'm very picky on this! Desserts are the weakest part of the menu and could use a little more of the French inspiration.
