A word from Scarpetta - Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Scott Conant, formerly of L’Impero and Alto, is at the helm of Scarpetta™, Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s Italian restaurant and an outpost of his recently opened restaurant of the same name in New York City. The restaurant features ocean and poolside views, a wraparound veranda as well as casual dining areas and a cocktail lounge.

Scarpetta regional menu comprises clean, crisp flavors prepared in layers to reflect the quality of locally sourced ingredients. Known for coaxing the most sublime flavors out of the simplest ingredients, Conant relies on Florida’s bounty of farm-fresh and organic produce to craft menus of surprising complexity.

To complement our wine list, there is a $30 corkage fee (per 750 ML) for two bottles and $70 for any additional bottle (per 750 ML).

Good food. Chef's selection for $70 is a good option; smaller portions meant to be shared. This is what we got for 2 people: 4 apps, 3 pastas, 2 entrees and 2 desserts). Wine pairings go from $25-45. The $35 level is a good option.

My wife and myself enjoyed a wonderful Saturday night dinner. We were fortunate to have a table with a banquette, so we were able to sit beside each other which I prefer to sitting accross.Suggestion..as good as the bread is, do not accept, since you will land up going through a couple of baskets...

After waiting for over an hour for our reserved table, we were seated in a very noisy milieu. The preparation is one of an experienced chef and kitchen. Taste wise, the four of us did not find it exceptional as we had been told. Their specialty pasta at first was extremely peppery and had to be sent back. The redone pasta, sans pepper, was not al dente and the sauce tasted an abundance of butter. Other appetizers such as the cecci soup and polenta were very good and tasy, while the fritto misto was a waste of money. Main courses chosen varied in opinion amongst us. We all ordered fish - flounder came in dry and overdone. Branzino was good and well spiced. No deserts. Would we return? No.

For a consistatnly good meal in a great setting, you can't get much better than Scarpetta. The food was delicous and the serving staff is well trained and attentive. Highly recommended. The best Spaghetti bar none. Our only complaint , the chef likes to salt too much. He must be in love.

Had a 1PM reservation for New Year's day brunch; arrived @ 12:45 and were told they only opened @ 1PM; we returned at 1PM and were told to wait 10 minutes; At 1:10, we inquired and were told to wait another 10 minutes. At 1:23, we left. Paid the valet parking $20 and went to eat elsewhere. Not impressed and VERY disappointed.

Most disappointing dinner we had during 2 week holiday (christmas-new year) in South Florida. The food was etable, but very average at best.Must say the bar offered excellent cocktails. The restaurant is beautiful. If the food was decent I would have given it high marks. Would consider this a premier tourist trap and could not recommend.

Even though we had a reservation we were sat outside on the patio - which would normally be very nice - but it was a very cool evening. After a quick work with the Maitre'd we were moved indoors and glasses of Prosecco were sent over for the entire table due to the misunderstanding. Food was outstanding - each dish was delicious. The service was even better - one of the best waiters I've had in the US. Overall an excellent choice for a special occasion - as long as you have a bit of patience to get a reservation at the time you want, and with a satisfactory table.

It takes a whole lot for a restaurant to impress me - and Scarpetta's surely did. From the fresh warm bread to the crisp salad to the homemade pasta, every bite was outstanding. The staff was friendly, helpful and very attentive. For wine lovers, the list is fantastic. And what an elegant setting. A true gem in the much over-hyped South Florida dining scene.

One of our favorite restaurants. We brought newcomers with us, who also greatly enjoyed the experience. We were also pleasantly accommodated because we originally asked for an outdoor table but it was too cool, and the staff was able to accommodate us indoors. My only complaint is that we called to try to add 2 more people to our party but were told that we could not. Upon arrival, there were very few people there since it was only 6:00 p.m. It seemed that we could have added two more people to our party.

Very nice ambience, service was top notch. Braised short ribs are a must have, spagetti was excellent but $23 and not at all worth it. Striped Bass was disappointing and i actually thought "gross". The spiced chicken was suprisingly good with a portion size that suprised me and a nice crispy skin. Amedei Chocolate cake was sinful and impossible to stop eating even though i was overly full.

Every item we three had in Scarpetta's special tasting menu, to celebrate their first anniversary, was superb. The food was interesting, flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Surprisingly, the portions were also quite large, which is somewhat unusual for a high end and elegant restaurant. We have eaten in most of the best restaurants in the Miami area, and Scarpetta may have the best Italian food. We certainly have not any better, and the location, in the new Fountainbleu Hotel, is gorgeous. We ate on the patio, which is shield from the wind, but affords views over the property, including the pools and palms and out toward the beach. This is a truly spectacular place to enjoy a special evening.

Fabulous. The combination of amazing food followed by a stroll through a unique architectural and energetic lobby, around a shimmering pool and onto the broadwalk to be caressed by a gentle Atlantic breeze made this a perfect evening. As a result of the gorgeous food (taste, presentation and quantity) we decided never to go to a "buffet" again!

The dining room was beautiful. Our greeting at the door was less than enthusiastic. We opted for the prix fixe menu and we were both surprised at how long we had to wait between courses. It was a minimum of 20 minutes from the time the previous course was cleared and re-marked to the time the next course hit the table, all three times (we were looking at our watches). The first courses were both just ok. The sashimi was a little too salty and the cook that made the polenta had a heavy hand with the truffle oil. The pastas were made in house and were both quite nice. The agnolotti was our favorite. Our main courses were both excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly and the branzino was delicate. Both desserts were disappo

The creamy polenta & mushrooms appetizer was delicious. The duck & foie gras ravioli were outstanding. They were extremely rich (no surprise there) so we were glad we were sharing. Even so we didn't finish them because we were afraid we wouldn't have room for our entrees. She had turbot & I had branzino. Both were pretty good ... the branzino was a little on the salty side. They have a nice wine list with a huge selection of Italian Reds. They were much busier than I expected on a Sunday evening. But it wasn't too crowded or noisy for me. Valet parking is $10 with validation ... I hate to think what it would be otherwise.
