A word from Scarpetta - Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Scott Conant, formerly of L’Impero and Alto, is at the helm of Scarpetta™, Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s Italian restaurant and an outpost of his recently opened restaurant of the same name in New York City. The restaurant features ocean and poolside views, a wraparound veranda as well as casual dining areas and a cocktail lounge.

Scarpetta regional menu comprises clean, crisp flavors prepared in layers to reflect the quality of locally sourced ingredients. Known for coaxing the most sublime flavors out of the simplest ingredients, Conant relies on Florida’s bounty of farm-fresh and organic produce to craft menus of surprising complexity.

To complement our wine list, there is a $30 corkage fee (per 750 ML) for two bottles and $70 for any additional bottle (per 750 ML).

Diner Reviews
  • "We vacation at the Fontainebleau every August and always save Scarpetta for our final dinner on the evening prior to our departure. When I made the reservation I inquired if our regular server, Luis Molina, was available and requested to be seated in his station. I was assured that this would be possible. Prior to our meal, I stopped by the restaurant to confirm that Luis would, indeed, be our server. I was again assured that my request would be honored. Not only was Mr. Molina not working, but the server in his stead seemed nervous and unsure of himself."

  • "Start to finish, our evening at Scarpetta was a joy. The service, the friendliness, the view, the amazing food, and the overall setting at the Fontainbleau just could not have been better. You cannot go wrong at the restaurant."

  • "We ate here before going to LIV and it was amazing. The food, the service, the ambiance were all spectacular and classy."

  • "We had a group for dinner on a Saturday night. I was not impressed by our server and it took at least an hour and a half for our entrees to arrive. The food was very good (I went simple with the spaghetti dish), but it definitely was not worth the wait. There are so many amazing restaurants in Miami. I would choose somewhere else next time."

  • "I went last Friday to Scarpetta to try the spice menu with a group of 6 people. The server was hostile as hell!!…since the moment that we sat down and asked for the spice menu he got super rude and treated us like we were begging for some “free” food. Im sure that these waiters give a good service based on your pocket...what a shame for a restaurant has this kind of people or employees! Good food but experience overall was opaque by the service!…don’t recommend it and I will not come back again. I would rather suggest to try the new Miami located in Wynwood or Midtown which is less pretentious and more foodie than in Miami Beach."

  • "This restaurant is amazing! The food was delicious, and full of interesting flavors and combinations. Awesome service! Nice setting.. Great romantic dinner or also great for girls night out. Great view .. Loved it! This place is defenitely a must!"

  • "Customer service was bad at best. Food was OK I'd rather go to south beach and save a few bucks on similar dinning for half the price and better service"

  • "The service was incredible. There was never a moment where our drinks were low or our table dirty. The spaghetti was by far the best pasta dish myself or my girlfriend had ever had."

  • "The food and service was great. I brought my family for a special occasion and we all enjoyed the Miami Spice menu. The beef was tender and juicy, and the guava desert was delicious. The place is situated ocean-front so the moonlit ocean view was gorgeous. It must have been even better earlier in the day."

  • "From start to finish, this was one of the best meals in Miami. The table, service and good were perfect. I would highly recommend the fried squash blooms and the duck pâté ravioli. We will be back!"

  • "Scarpetta is one of the few restaurants in south beach that I always keep coming back to. Great service to amazing food. I've never had a bad experience nor a bad meal. Everything is always a hit."

  • "Was very excited about eating here because of all the good reviews, we are staying here in the fontainbleu. The service was lacking, the restaurant was fairly noisy, and the caramel dessert was a confusing dish consisting of several components failing to create a clear cohesive direction. As a sommelier I can say the wine list wasn't bad but not impressive either .. In fact that is how I would sum up the experience, wasn't bad just wasn't very great and have had much better elsewhere in south beach for a similar price. Suggestion, have an appetizer and glass of wine then head elsewhere for dinner.. The polenta appetizer was stellar."

  • "I celebrated my anniversary dinner here and we were both treated with the utmost courtesy and kindness at this restaurant. The food was superb and we took full advantage of Miami Spice! Our favorite was the coconut panna cotta with guava soup for dessert - a must try if you like fruity desserts!"

  • "Don't miss the polenta and the duck ravioli!! Outstanding!!"

  • "We had the Chef's Tasting Menu. It consisted of Scapettas' best dishes and was amazing. Most notable were the creamy polenta and duck and foie gras ravioli! My husband and I have been to both the NY and now Miami location. We love both but there is something special about Miami! Namely the Coconut panna cotta in Guava "soup"!!!!"

  • "My husband and I love Scarpetta! We come here at least once a year and they never disappoint. It's refreshing when the server actually knows what they're talking about. And of course, the food is always great! I ordered off the Miami Spice menu and my husband opted to choose from the regular menu. I can't get enough of the creamy polenta and my husband is still raving about the duck & foie gras ravioli. The service is like no other; very attentive and proper. Money well spent...We will continue to come back!"

  • "Scott & company did not disappoint! Everything we had was delicious- from the bread to the dessert. The spaghetti wasn't as awesome as I was hoping it would be-but it was good and my husband a carb fanatic, loved it. The polenta was as good as everyone says it is-velvety & rich, but the dessert was the star. The coconut panna cotta swimming in a lite guava soup was so refreshing and lite but also incredibly satisfying, perfectly chilled, with bits of fruity goodness to be discovered underneath. I'm not a coconut or guava fan,but it was recommended by the waiter&is an exceptional combination that I can't wait to have again! Although this restaurant is almost chainlike nowadays, it is worth going to and I highly recommend it-I will be back."

  • "The food at Scarpetta is always great - even something as mundane as our fried mozzarella appetizer becomes something special with baby tomatoes instead of the usual marinara sauce. We had the Miami Spice choices. My husband's snapper and my chicken and ricotta ravioli upgrade with freshly shaved truffles were perfect. There is no other word to describe our entrees. The panna cotta with the guava "soup" dessert was heavenly. Our waiter, Eduardo, was professional, friendly and I will definitely request his table next time we are there. The restaurant was just a tad too noisy for my comfort though."

  • "We were visiting from Canada. I made the reservation online. I heard of this restaurant from the food network show Top Chef. We went there for dinner August 3 for my daughter's 16th birthday. Her birthday was the 4th but we were leaving on the 4th. So we celebrated the day before. And the service was great. I'm a very pickey person and I had no complains. They even give my daughter a tray of different cookies and wrote happy birthday on the tray. That was a surprise. She ate them the next day. The main server was amazing. This guy knows everything. When it comes to explain the meals and how to serve with presentation. I cannot explain enough. I forgot his name, he's Asian. Fantastic server. The food was amazing"

  • "The location & view are amazing, but the service is slow & snooty. Food is carefully prepared and delicious, but portions are small, more "French" or "fine dining" than hearty Italian. Home made bread and spaghetti are justifiably popular. Expensive."

  • "Scarpetta is a nice place to eat this was our second visit, a little pricey for every day meals. The Wine list is very impressive but somewhat overpriced compared to Europe so only had one bottle! but saying that I would go again as the staff make you feel welcome and try hard to please. Music was a little loud for a restaurant on the Friday evening we ate there so we could not hear clearly what was being said by the staff as the dining area was full. Worth booking early on the day if your a guest at the hotel as you are not guaranteed a table."

  • "Outstanding!!! We dove head first into the chefs tasting and Every morsel was a gift! The wine, suggested by our server...perfection!! Noise level quite high - acoustics of the big open space make it hard to hear but the place itself is beautiful"

  • "My husband & I did the chef's tasting to celebrate my birthday and every single aspect of the experience was outstanding! The service was exceptional and every single course in the tasting was absolutely delicious! We did spend about $300 between dinner and drinks, but it was worth every penny. It was a great experience! I can't wait to return!"

  • "AS WE WAITED TO BE SEATED A PRESUMED HOTEL GUEST ASKED THE HOSTESS IF "THERE IS A MORE TRADITIONAL ITALIAN RESTURANT NEARBY?" WHY WOULD THAT EVER BE NEEDED WHEN WE HAVE A MASTER CHEF `S MASTERPIECE AT SCARPETTA!!! OUR THIRD VISIT WAS ANOTHER CLASSIC WITH A NEW DIMENSION OF THE BEACH VIEW TABLE. AS YOU KNOW THEY SHARE THE RECIPIES AND EVEN THOUGH THE "SPAGHETTI"MADE AT HOME FOLLOWING THE RECIPE COMES OUT GREAT IT TAKES ALL DAY TO PREPARE!!!! BETTER TO GO TO THE SOURCE. THIS TIME THOUGHT THE OCTOPUS HAD A HOTDOG LIKE-SMOKEY-FLAVOR-RESPECTFULLY SENT IT BACK- AND THE $100.00 BOTTLE OF BRUNELLO WAS NOT AS GOOD AS THE BRUNELLO AT FONTANA-PASSED ON THE $1000.00 BOTTLE. REST OF THE LARGE FEAST FOR 2 WAS PERFECT AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT VISIT."

  • "The food an service was very good. I appreciate that they accommodated our group of nine on very little notice on a Friday night. I didn't particularly care for the ambience- the large tables were outside the main dining room and it was very loud. I think that in keeping with the hotel in general, the restaurant tries to get a youthful crowd so they pipe in pretty loud music whoch makes it hard to have a conversation. The food was excellent and the service fine. I'd go back but only in the main dining area and not with a large group."

  • "Celebrating daughters 21st Bday in Miami…Maitre 'D was friendly & accommodating..Kenny or server made great suggestions & recommended a fine Barolo wine for our selections..Party of 4, had: fish, duck breast, raviolis & spaghetti; appetizers were excellent & fresh baked breads also..Will definitely be back when in South Beach..Located in the Fountanbleu Hotel which is an iconic landmark from the 60's…."

  • "Scarpetta continues to put out the finest dishes in all of Miami. The spectacular views of the ocean and the Fontainbleu pools is just an extra perk. Service is impeccable, prompt, efficient, and informed. What's also wonderful is there are new items on the menu every month. Food choices range from comfort to haut cuisine. The fish dishes are always impeccably cooked, pastas are inventive and unique, poultry is juicy and tender, meats are always cooked to perfection and side dishes are fresh and crisp. It's the best restuarant in town at the moment."
