Scarpetta - Fontainebleau Miami BeachYUMMYPasta was EXCELLENT!!! We did the 4 course meal with wine pairing, simply delicious!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect 10On vacation and was recommended by a fiend in the area. Our last night and it was PERFECT! We did the Chef's choice with the Sommelier pairing. Food, our waiter, staff and Sommelier were great . I'll be back in town in a few weeks and look forward to taking some customers. Thanks for great evening.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHoneymoon meal.We visited the restaurant for the first meal of our honeymoon. The service was excellent and the food fantastic. The staff are friendly and very knowledgable. There were quirky little touches which make this place special. It's not cheap but you pay for what you get and in my opinion the price is worth it.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Sevice and FoodThe waiters were attentive and offered great suggestions, and asked me if I was okay with meat because some foods had meat (like some of the bread).
The food is not pretentious but still takes risks, which is what I like. The pasta tastes fresh.
There is also a nice view of the ocean.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Wait StaffThe Wait Staff was equal to the food and ambiance. Five star rating. Asked for Louis. He is one of the most seasoned and. tends to your dining desires with care.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice atmosphere - anVery nice atmosphere - an "It" place filled with fun people & very good food. Ordered the lamb, which was delicious. Have dinner there each time visiting Miami & always glad I did!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experience!Went to Scarpetta during our vacation to Miami. It was on my husbands bucket list (he watches a lot of food network and Scott Conant is one of his favorite chefs). I would have to say that it was probably the best dining experience we both had in our entire lives. The staff was so attentive, for instance the moment our waters were half way down, someone was around to fill them back up, and the food was impeccable. As a starter I ordered the steak tartar, and my husband the polenta (he swears that it was the best the ever had). For dinner I ordered the duck, my sister the lamb and my husband the foie gras ravioli and we all said the same- that everything was amazing. Even the prices were reasonable! I would definitely recommend in the future6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMswanky hotspot, creative fareNice expansive spot for creative Italian fare, fun drinks and energetic vibe. Glad i went but didn't have enough pull with me that if make it a repeat spot.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dishes - Excellent ServiceGreat pasta, excellent service and posh setting. Just be ready to pull out your wallet ;)6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMbeyond my expectationswow! there are no others words to describe scarpetta. i had a wonderful birthday dinner here, the food was amazing and the service is top notch. i really appreciated how the restaurant went our of their way to give me a little birthday card as well as write happy birthday on my dessert.
the polenta is amazing, the duck and foie gras ravioli is out of this world! branzino was delish as well.
i will DEFINITELY be back.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA bit pricy for the food yourA bit pricy for the food your getting, the waiter try's to upsale $500 bottles of wine. It was like pulling teeth to get a bottle in the $100 neighborhood. Parking - even after they stamp your parking ticket is way too expensive. Entensive use of sauces to cover the taste of inexpensive cuts of meat. The pasta sauce needs work, taste like it came from a jar.
On the other hand, the place is beautiful, very energetic and a hot spot. Its all about location location location and they take advantage of that as they should. Management was everywhere you looked.
Had a wonderful time but for me, its a been there, done that kind of place. For a $500.00 + meal for a party of 4, there are alot better places to eat for foodies.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is only one word...Superb!!Scarpetta is by far the best restaurant in South Florida. Everything about it was perfect from the moment we walked in to the moment we left some two plus hours later. We decided to order the chef's tasting menu and I would recommend it to anyone who is going there for the first time. It's a perfect way to eperience the genius of Executive Chef and Owner Scott Conant. We would return to Scarpetta in a heartbeat!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMbeautiful place, good food, beautiful place, good food, good servisse. I recommend this restaurant.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal I've ever hadDo try the Chef's Tasting Menu: it's an outrageously good value and you'll get to try the restaurant's top selections. Particular favorites of mine were the branzino, the polenta and the spaghetti.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe would always come back!!!We had a wonderful time at Scarpetta. The service was incredible, they place at a wonderful table
Knowing that it was for a special occasion. The atmosphere was wonderful, very romantic. Always asking if we needed anything else was great, it shows That everyone cares. The entire dinner was fantastic, cooked beatifully. My wife and I enjoyed the steak and the halibut very much. When ever we are in Miami, we will definitely coming back to Scarpetta at the Fountainebleau Miami Beach.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousRavioli was to die for. Service was excellent. Will definitely return next time I'm in Miami.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderfulI had the pasta special the night we were there which was fresh homemade pasta with black truffles. YUMMY!! I wish we had gone back the next night to have that dish again. I'm still thinking about it.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceI dined at Scarpetta's Miami restaurant with my wife and daughter. Varied and interesting menu--great ambiance and terriific meal.
I started with a creamy polenta, which was very nice, followed by the duck and foie gras ravioli in a marsala reduction. Looking forward to trying other menu items on my next visit. Service was effieinet and our server knowledgable.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Option For A Big Name PlaceStopped in for a couple appetizers and a bottle of wine. Good upbeat music and nice atmosphere. Server was very polite, almost to the point you could tell it was fake, but probably very acceptable for the high end, full of themselves clientele. Wine and drink list is absolutely fantastic, I run a wine bar and I was actually jealous. Ordered the raw yellowtail, small portion but very fresh and amazingly tasty. Also got the Grilled Octopus with potato, olives and capers, every bite tasted different and fantastic. Was kind of skeptical going here because of some hype and some heard of let downs at other Fontainbleau restaurants but this one for sure fit the bill. One of the best looking menus in Miami, wish I would have had time to try more.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough the atmosphere isAlthough the atmosphere is a noisy and frenetic one, food and service are both excellent. This spot is definitely the place to be seen!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWowBest pasta I ever had. It was amazing. The polenta was rich and creamy and oh so good. Great service and dining experience. It was worth the 3 1/2 hour drive.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food. Pretentious waiter.Every dish we ate was incredible. Particularly the polenta, special ravioli and duck. Overall a wonderful experience. The only drawback was a pretentious waiter allegedly from France who wasn't accommodating, randomly showed our table personal, strange YouTube videos and wouldn't accept 8 credit cards (the limit was 7). Lose the fake French waiter and you've got an incredible restaurant expletive. Worth every penny.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMTaste was great but the portionsTaste was great but the portions are tiny. Our pasta dishes could have used at least 5 more ravioli's, and we're not large people. We ended up sharing two deserts because we were still kind of hungry. We ordered the two pasta specials, which were with truffle oil and quite pricey (at $65) for the portions. I would recommend for a special evening or if you are staying at the Fontainebleau, but otherwise there are many other places in Miami where value and price are more aligned.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply amazingAmazing food amazing service amazing atmosphere
What more can I say "amazing"5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food and serviceWe've wanted to try Scarpetta in New York for a while but always seem to get distracted by the other great restaurants. We were in Miami and decided we'd give his other location a try. Had to try the signature dishes, Spaghetti with Tomato Basil and Truffle Polenta. All we expected and more. My daughter appreciated the quail egg on the Steak tartare. The service was fantastic, the Someiller was very helpful and they have a great wine list. All in all a great restaurant for a special occasion.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but NoisyNot what you'd expect from a first class Italian (more Miami style than Little Italy) but the food and service are great, the noise level like a 747 taking off. Was hoarse the next day from screaming during dinner. Oh well, experience was worth it.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Prmi braised short ribsThe Prmi braised short ribs where melt in you mouth good. The charred english pea raviolini was amazing. The Mediterranean Branzino was perfection. My one complaint was the lack of his signature stramboli in the bread basket.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPERFECTIONOur third time visiting Scarpetta and it was just as good as the past two visits. Fabulous food!! We shared the polenta, and short ribs for appetizers. I had the spaghetti which was cooked perfectly but better yet, tasted like nothing you have ever had. I think it is the best dish there. Cooked al dente with a FANTASTIC tomato based sauce. I think the reason it tastes so good is the quality of the tomatoes, and a very slight touch of cream and butter (I think). My wife had the duck which was excellent. I could go on and on but you have to try it.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food! Bad serverThe hostess were great considering we had to wait 30 minutes for our reservation. But the bartender Laura was amazing. I had the Torino drink, which she recommended and it was amazing. When we got to our table, our service was pretty below par. Had no personality and acted like he was doing us a favor whenever he came by. After our entrees we waited 30 minutes for our espressos and when we tried waving him down asking if our espressos were on the way he could have simply apologized and said he forgot and that they were almost done. ? Again, like he's doing us a favor for getting them. Every other aspect of our experience at Scarpetta was incredible. Unbelievable food, and the other staff were very friendly and accommodating.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThere were nine of us. ServiceThere were nine of us. Service was impeccable and the food was absolutely fabulous. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the wine recommendation was spot on. The fois grois and duck raviolis were to die for and the lamb chops absolutely the best ever.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the tasting which wasWe had the tasting which was a great choice. If you don't do the tasting the signature spaghetti and signature mushroom pallenta are not to be missed which is something us foodies would have never ordered as anyone can make spaghetti and pollenta is just not a fav but trust me youu have never had it like this before!! We like northern Italian and this was definitely ome of the best we have had!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Italian Food in MiamiReally, an excellent choice. The chef takes Italian food to a new level with culinary skills influenced by both the Italians and the French. Even the most mundane of dishes, are so carefully prepared, I imagine it took years to perfect. Very romantic, a bit pricey, but compared to the service and quality, and location of the restaurant, it's well worth it. I've seen children there before, but the restaurant is really geared toward adults--not just couples either. Large parties, double-dating, etc. are all welcomed at Scarpetta.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMsmall menue but still a nicesmall menue but still a nice variety. excellent food, well cooked. huge wine list but also huge prices! very vibrant and lively place, actually very noisy but trendy and chic!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMShine a light of the mealAt first take, you'll notice that Scarpetta is dimly lit. So much so, that I pulled out my iphone to read the menu and the table next to us used the candle light on the table to read the menu.
We had the chef's tasting with wine pairings and it was really worth the cost. All of the courses were good, but particularly the yellowtail with pink Hawaiian salt, the creamy polenta with wild mushrooms and the salted caramel for desert.
My only complaint about the service was when we asked what a 'fricasse' was and got that it 'was a method of cooking' Duh!
Overall, I'd go back for a special occasion...armed with a head lamp.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome dinner. Very wellAwesome dinner. Very well executed and enjoyable. Nice experience but I wish the service was faster (time until waiter acknowledged). Would definitely return or recommend however.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe like to eat well...andWe like to eat well...and this might be the best of the best! To start both our server and sommelier were outstanding...they were informative and interesting to talk to about the restaurant, the menu, and the wine list. We already knew the basil pasta was a must have from the ten or so folks who told us this dish was not to be missed. So we let our server guide us to a tuna appetizer and the heirloom tomato salad...seems like simple food...but each bite was better than the next. The basil pasta might be the true mouthwatering dish of the night though...seemingly just a pasta dish, but this was the most flavorful and fragrant dish I have eaten in a long time. Everything else was perfect, but it was that pasta that will have me back again!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. ExcellentExcellent food. Excellent service. Unfortunately depending on where you are seated the sounds emanating from the kitchen can be quite disruptive.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMTo start off, the food wasTo start off, the food was gourmet! And the water tasted like purified rich water without minerals :) food is kinda expensive but worth it, just try to give bigger portions but other than that, Great Work Scarpetta staff is wonderful and sweet as well.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best Restaurant in Miami-Dade!Scarpetta continues to upgrade their menu while retaining great classics. By merely changing the side dishes with the raosted chicken they elevate it to a gourmet treat! The new pastas, like English Pea ravioli, are amazing and the refined Tuna Bresaola was moist, tender and full of flavor even as it melts in your mouth. Despite the busy and always full dining room the service and attention to detail are meticulous. Worth a ride to the beautiful Fontainbleu. Discounted valet parking is always quick and courteous.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to the NYC ScarpettaI've been to the NYC Scarpetta and loved this experience even more. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. The spaghetti and duck ravioli were our favorites but it was hard to decide when the branzino and the duck entrees were so delicious. Thanks for a great night!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMScarpetta - a hit!We really enjoyed dining at Scarpetta and thought it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Other than one appetizer, which (in our view) was not prepared properly, the food was well cooked, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was also attentive and truly inspired. We would definitely go back, and since we live in the NYC area, we look forward to trying the location in Manhattan.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner for four at 7:30.Dinner for four at 7:30. We had a few drinks then dinner. Food was good but not great. Wait staff was very good.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavor over delicate flavoursFlavor over delicate flavours with every entre we had. Expensive but almos worth it.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh Homemade Pasta!!!!We had the Chef's 4 course tasting menu. Food was unbelievable. Chef Nina's fresh home made pasta was better than any that I've tried before . Then their very tasty desserts topped off this great meal. Service was great and flexible with our requests.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOur last night in Miami wasOur last night in Miami was spectacular thanks to Louis our server and the team that attended to our every need. We have never experienced service like this...oh and I should mention the food was also outstanding.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent and well-presentFood was excellent and well-presented. Our waiter was terrific. The host/hostess seemed a bit confused and took far longer to seat us than was necessary. The restaurant needs a dress code - we were dressed fashionably for a fancy, upscale meal and found ourselves sitting next to a table of 7 guys in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!!!!We had a wonderful dinner! My family truly had a great time with the excellent food, servers, sommelier! Everything was great!!!!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food; essentiallyWonderful food; essentially the same menu as the NY restaurant. As in NY, I find the wine list over-priced and not particularly well-chosen.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster brunch was outstanding.WideEaster brunch was outstanding.Wide variety of dishes and excellent service. All very fresh ingredients and pastas courses were exemplary.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly Exceptional Easter BrunchWe went for Easter Brunch. The spread was great. Lots of variety, and everything I tried was excellent. What really made the service special, though, was the service. Typically for a buffet brunch, you get sat down and only see your waiter a few times throughout the evening. This is understandable as you're typically responsible for getting your own food. Our experience for this brunch, however, was completely different. Our waiter, Benoit, was extremely attentive, even bringing us new dishes as they came out of the kitchen. All in all, it was a great experience. I highly recommend both this restaurant and, in particular, our waiter Benoit.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
