A word from Scarpetta - Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Scott Conant, formerly of L’Impero and Alto, is at the helm of Scarpetta™, Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s Italian restaurant and an outpost of his recently opened restaurant of the same name in New York City. The restaurant features ocean and poolside views, a wraparound veranda as well as casual dining areas and a cocktail lounge.

Scarpetta regional menu comprises clean, crisp flavors prepared in layers to reflect the quality of locally sourced ingredients. Known for coaxing the most sublime flavors out of the simplest ingredients, Conant relies on Florida’s bounty of farm-fresh and organic produce to craft menus of surprising complexity.

To complement our wine list, there is a $30 corkage fee (per 750 ML) for two bottles and $70 for any additional bottle (per 750 ML).

The food was ok, nothing memorable but I've never wished for a tasting menu to end as much as this one. Could have left after the first course but it wasn't cheap so we stuck it out. Carlos and his team treated us like queen's and helped with making our selection for dinner so easy. Everything was outstanding!!! Carlos visited our table throughout the evening to ensure everything was going well. The dinner was simply out of this world. We selected the four course menu which was delicious and were also surprised with a birthday dessert. This is a five star restaurant in our opinion and I know the Fountainbleau is proud to have them there. The whole experience was one we will never forget and I suggest make this your first stop in Miami!!!"

  • "There is no disputing the quality and deliciousness of the food at Scarpetta. I have been and continue to be a Scott Conant groupie! The creamy polenta appetizer was heaven in a bowl! My one criticism is the noise level in the restaurant. In both the inside and outside. Music was way to loud! Originally the seater wanted to put us in a table right next to them and we asked to be changed. It didnt seem to matter just as noisy. Even when passing thru the interior dining room the noise level didnt change. The bar room seemed to be the only place for hearable conversation without shouting!"

  • "We took my mom to Scarpetta to celebrate her ninetieth birthday and it couldn't have been a better choice. The staff warmly welcomed us and paid just the right amount of special attention to the birthday girl, from recognizing her on entering the restaurant, a greeting card and of course the candle and script Happy Birthday with dessert. Also perfect was the food. Highly recommend the stracciatella with beet salad, gemelli pasta with rock shrimp, octopus, fresh peas and mint and superbly done lamb chops. We love Scarpetta in LA and were happy to see the Miami Beach post every bit as good."

Everyone says to get the duck and foie gras ravioli so we did, even though I didn't love the sound of the marsala reduction. I was wrong. It added the perfect sweetness to the dish. This might have been my favorite dish. We also got the spaghetti, which was very good but I didn't think it was anything extraordinary. For our main dish we shared the Long Island duck which was so tender and delicious. The side of broccoli rabe was one of my favorite preparations! Highly recommend!"

  • "Brought long time friends for dinner and had Kenneth as our server. He navigated us around the menu with his usual flair. If you don't know what Polenta is or have never tried it, you have to have the appetizer with the mushrooms. Standouts were the Tuna Tartare, the always delicious Spaghetti with tomato and basil, and if you like mushrooms you must have the wild mushroom side order. It is so fantastic, could be a main course. Careful with the sommelier. they were out of a Meursault I wanted and he steered me into a different one for an additional $55. But the wine list does have a number of gems and the sommelier is knowledgeable."

  • "Food was excellent but waiters seemed rushed and noise level was unnecessarily too high. Did not need loud music in background. Most frustrating was that the lighting was too dim to read the menu. Many of the guests, including us, asked for a light. Some used their cell phone light, others a purse light and, even the waiters offered credit card style flashlights to some of us. If it's that obvious, why doesn't the restaurant improve the lighting or, better still, give out complimentary credit card.style flashlights with their logo."

  • "Chef (should have been TOP) Nina Compton has created a fantastic menu of all the creations that put her at the Top Chef level. She controls the kitchen while creating new and vibrant dishes seemingly every month. The new beef carpaccio with Snake River Wagyu is fantastic. The Pork Shank is huge and full of tantalizing flavors and textures. Her (and Chef Scott's) wonderful pastas are the most inventive and flavorful of any Italian restaurant. And of course in Miami you have to have the delicious seafood. And now in truffle season, just the right amount augments almost every dish to new levels. Rock on!"
