Great service, food and a comfortable table outside. Even though it's nearly winter, we enjoyed a great evening dinner outside. City lights, stars and a great meal. What I love the best is that we were not rushed. We had time to talk and enjoy life. That's why I loved Scarpetta. Thanks!

Some may say Scarpetta is expensive. However, you are not only paying for the food. You are paying for great ambiance, great service, great location, great decor and most of all great food...the total package. Well worth the price. The bread basket is enough of a reason to cancel your dinner order and eat only the bread (comes with Stromboli btw...who does that?) The prusciutto and caramelized fig appetizer is perfect to get your taste buds ready for dinner. The crispy bass and panchetta wrapped duck breast are highly recommended. The dessert, well, pick whatever you want and you wont be disappointed.

Scarpetta was very nice. For the ambiance and nicer dining, it is very good. The food however seemed to be no different than other "nicer" Italian restaurants. Of course it is not the Scarpetta's fault, but I think Italian is a hard cuisine to really make stand out. While the food was good, we did not think it stood out more than any other similar types of restaurants.

This is a gorgeous place an amazing bar scene in a lovely hotel. Expect Wealthy men ,working" girls and a VERY trendy/ high end bar and cocktail lounge. Many of the hotel guests come own for cocktails, etc. Once upon a time this was a top rated restaurant but that was then and now it is just another PRICEY hotel restaurant. THE OUTSIDE dining area feels like Italy and almost worth the high price of a bad meal. The outdoor waiters are ridiculously rude so expect a good laugh. If you forget the food go for the social scene you will have a fun evening. A HAPPENING BAR SCENE - For sure.

We certainly expected more. There is only one word that really comes to mind and that is mediocre. Services was ok. The food was pretty much tasteless which is hard to do when serving a veal chop for instance. The ambience is up scale version of iHop. With so many great restaurants close by, just give this one a pass.

I had read many great reviews about the Scarpetta spaghetti and was not disappointed! The pasta was perfect and the sauce unbelievable! The only downside to our night was the slow service. It took 3 hours for 2 courses. I actually wanted dessert, but the other courses took so long, I didn't order any. However, the food we were served was so good, I would go back again and again.

Went for our 20th wedding anniversary. Mentioned it on opentable. Everybody at Scarpetta mentioned it. The service was exceptional. The sommelier Roberto is fantastic. Perhaps the best espresso I've had outside of Italy. Can't believe we waited so long to try it. Highly recommended.

Hotel restaurants just keep getting better, and this may be the best in L.A. Venture past the loud, crowded bar and you enter a lovely, quiet enclave. The warm and gracious service here is exemplary without being stuffy. The food is outstanding, especially the home made pasta. Their cocktails are inventive and tasty, and their wine list is quite good. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a party of six for a four course meal with wine pairing. The meal was delicious. Each course was skillfully prepared, and the wines were perfectly selected for each dish. The service, however, was disappointing. It wasn't clear if the restaurant was understaffed or if the server was just off his game. We waited significant periods of time for everything. The server on a couple occasions made the table wait for all the wine to be served, because he had not brought enough to the table. Once, he had only brought enough for one glass, making the rest wait for fifteen minutes, well past when the course was served. On top of that, he was a little rude. All in all, a very nice meal, but the service could have been improved.

This is becoming all too common - the restaurant that has good to great food but saves money by paying staff very little and no focus on training of any kind. It becomes a swinging door of staff, you can tell three weeks to three months ago they were in another low paying job just trying to survive, and in three months will probably be elsewhere. Why? Because the restaurant doesn't care about the people just about trimming margins so they can make money. I can describe the poor service - wrong delivery of food, asking several times for things and not getting it - but it really isn't about the wait staff - but the management. I will not return.

Came here for a romantic evening to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We waited extra time to be seated, although we had reservations. The food was delicious and the bread basket was amazing. I ordered the Tagliatelle with duck sugo. It was super rich and flavorful and the pasta was al dente! My boyfriend had their famous spaghetti. The tomato sauce was filled with wonderful aromas of basil. I must say that the food was wonderful, but the service was a bit slow. We were not even sure who our actual waiter was during our whole dining experience. That was not such a big deal because all the service personnel were friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back again!

wonderful evening @ Scarpetta, from services to our dinner, it was great! We wish to be seated @ a bigger table (like a table for 4) because we feel that we are too close to our next table, all the table for 2 seemed to be too close to each other for a great evening we could have enjoy a bit more! But we sure will come back. Do try their pasta dishes, fresh and delicious, can't be missed.

I am a big fan of chef Scott Conant so I was not only very disappointed but surprised at how bad the service was at Scarpetta. The restaurant is in the Montage Hotel, where we were staying, so I was very excited to for a fine dining experience. The food was creative and prepared well enough but the management and serving staff didn't really seem to care very much about us. The staff repeatedly served the wrong course to two in my party and this was after waiting over two hours for our entrees. Other than a mild apology, nobody cared about the long wait and bad service. The five of us in our party agreed the staff is poorly trained, especially compared to Spago around the corner. We won't be returning.

Thanks for offering the BBE Prix Fixe with wine flight. It was a great way to get acquainted with Scarpetta. It was our first time. The portions were abundant and the food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. I wish you would include information about the wines on the printed menu so that we'd know what we were drinking for future reference. It is a sad time for Scarpetta. We've been going since it opened and what was once a great restaurant, is now sadly very poor. If Scott doesn't do something to improve the food and bring it back to its beginnings, it will close within a year. Even his signature spaghetti with tomato and basil was bland and tasteless. You can get better sauce from a bottle and save 26 dollars.

My wife and I wanted to have a nice dinner for our first anniversary. Being fans of Chopped and Scott Conant, we had to try Scarpetta. Everything was great, from our pre dinner cocktail, to our waitress, to the food (how can such simple spaghetti be so freakin' good) to Scott Conant coming to our table to wish us a Happy Anniversary. I don't know when, but we will definitely be back. Thank you Scarpetta for helping my wife and I cap a wonderful first year of marriage.

Our group of four had mixed feelings about our experience. Two people thought the food was quite good; the other two did not like the menu and were disappointed in their orders. Great looking place with excellent service. Short rib appetizer was fine but the Pasta did not come close to the reputation. The basic Spagetti (sauce in particular) -- a bit bland and too much use of red pepper. White wines by the glass were unexceptional. Not enough here to make us want to come back unfortunately.

I have been to Scarpetta twice now and both times I have had issues with my food. The first, was during restaurant week and my piece of steak was over cooked. This time around my agnolotti had this grainy filling that was quite unpleasant, it was as if I was eating dry sand surrounded by under cooked pasta. It was also a special occasion, a birthday, the hostess knew but apparently the waitress didn't and at the end of the meal sent us on our way- without even acknowledging the occasion. For the amount of money spent on food, there should have been more communication between the hostess and waitress.

Truly exceptional service from Anat, our waitress. Amazingly, it was her first week to the job. Very personal service; she addressed us by our names and introduced herself to us as our waitress, you seldom found this in any restaurants, including any high caliber restaurants in this day and age. This was one of our criteria for judging a top of the line service. She constantly checked on us and asking how our food was without being too intrusive. The general manager, Nathan was also outstanding by making sure we enjoyed the evening. The breads, yum...The food was still good especially the Spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce. I loved the al dente of the pasta they served. Top of the line wine by the glass. We will be back again

Started the evening with an ice-cold cup of coffee. This is Restaurant 101 - coffee should be served hot! The succeeding service was about as bad with cold plates, cold entrees that should have been piping hot and self-absorbed waiters. The hostess, busboys and servers were outstanding - constantly having to correct what was brought out and presented as the world's greatest. Only the black cod and the dessert measured up to the reputation I'd read about. Next time I'll go across the plaza to Bouchon for an excellent meal. Very sad for a restaurant in the Montage building. Truly a case of the emperor not having clothes on.

Our first time at Scarpetta and had a grand time. From valet service to fine dining experience, everything was perfect. Our servers, Robert and Jonathan rendered table service exquisitely and excellently. They are the restaurant's gems. They detailed the particulars about the food and Jonathan gave us different kinds of bread and all kinds were very good. My sister and I ordered the world famous spaghetti and was not disappointed, it was so delicious. My bf ordered veal chops and he said it was cooked to perferction. The wine list is so diverse, they probably have all kinds and all the high end labels. I highly recommend it to all my friends and family. I have family coming for vacation and will definitely take them to Scarpetta.

I took my sister to Scarpetta to celebrate her birthday. She was very pleased. The greeter and wait staff were attentive, but not too clingy as some are. We both ordered the spaghetti that Scott Conant is know for and it did not disappoint. It was served under a dome and came to the table steaming hot. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was a basily slightly cheesy surprise--a lot more flavor than I was expecting. We also had the broussel sprouts which reminded us of spaghetti dinners growing up. The bread basket was a fantastic mix of some crunchy, some chewy, some stuffed breads-all were very tasty and very welcome during the short wait for the entree. The cheesecake was great-ice cream was not. The little donut holes-wow!

If you come in with high expectations you will most likely leave wondering what all the hype was about. If this is the best pasta out there, then our culinary world is in trouble. Yes the spaghetti was different than the classic slurp it up type, but the sauce had no flavor, and I don't know about you but I prefer not to have chewy pasta. Or as they call it "has bite." The cavatelli pasta which although has a fancy name looked just like the spaghetti, had a little more flavor, but I couldn't get over that bitter broccoli rabe. Go there and taste the pasta. Just to see if it's your thing. But none of my party would ever bother coming back. For those who are gonna argue that, it's authentic like Northern Italy, save it.

The food was very good, but overall experience could have been better. We dined inside at one of the booths. I have to say that these booths are not very comfortable and our whole table kept tilting throughout the evening. Also, some of the staff seem a bit lost at times. The most bizarre thing was that when you sit at the booth, they serve your dishes from behind you. Not what I expected from a restaurant inside the Montage.

Attentive with a VIP feel, but unobtrusive. Food was varied and just amazing. Met the executive chef, Freddy Garcia, and had a tour if the magnificent kitchen. The appetizers were all good with the yellow tail, lobster something and polenta as stand outs. Mains were great with the halibut a highlight, but everything ordered was top notch with quality presentation as well as taste. A special night out perfectly executed by the entire Scarpetta team.

Went to Scarpetta for Saturday evening dinner with some girlfriends. Heard some great things about the restaurant so I was excited to check it out. First let me say that the restaurant is nicely decorated and the ambiance is wonderful. We sat inside but right in front of the open doors so we were almost outside as well. The waiter was fine- didn't really go out of his way to be spectacular but no complaints. I had the scallop appetizer, sea bass entree and cheesecake dessert. The scallops were OK but the sea bass was not good at all, couldn't even finish it (over seasoned, veggies were bland had an weird combination of shrimp and snap peas with the fish). Dessert was good. Nice place but not worth the money. Id rather have gone to mastros.

I've been here before, had great experiences but this time was sub-par. The bartender was rude, didn't have the courtesy to say "I'll be with you in a moment" and left us standing there for 10 minutes. Even if someone is busy, a simple gesture to acknowledge you are there is appreciated. At dinner, we ordered cocktails then the menu, but our first course came and still no cocktails. Our server forgot them, and since our wine had already arrived, we canceled the cocktails. Spaghetti course was AMAZING, as always. Next was the steak, mine MedRare, my husband's ordered well-done. His was so pink!! These things shouldn't happen at this caliber of restaurant! The server didn't apologize, my husband didn't eat any, and it was still on our bill.
