Not good italian food at all, over priced. The bread comes way too salty. The appetizer we order is Spanich and Arti dip, dip is very watery. So, it's dripping down the bread we dip in. My daughter and I both order Penn Chicken, very little chicken in the pasta. And, it is not white meat, it is brown meat. For couple pieces of chicken, I can taste the chicken soft bones in it. Very dry, no sauce at all in past, very little vegetable except sun dried tomato and peas. My friend ordered Shrimp past, no sauce at all. $15 meal comes with 5 pieces of shrimps on the top. That is it. Poor quality of food, over priced. By the way, the portion of meal is small. Bread crumbles on the chair, you have to be careful before you seated.

We went on a Saturday night. Not very crowded. The server never asked us if we wanted more bread, water. coffee, or dessert. Just brought us our check! Rather strange!!!! We also were asked by the hostess if everything was OK since we were sitting there for a long time! The restaurant was not crowded at that point, so we were not keeping anyone from being seated or the wait staff from making their tips! Don't know if I will go back!

I often find when the bread is very good and fresh that the rest of the meal is also very good. I took my family who was in visiting for the week to Scarletti's for dinner. We all enjoyed our meal. I ordered chicken piccata and it was excellent. My wife had nut crusted halibut and it was quite possibly the best halibut I have ever tasted. All of my family enjoyed their meals immensely. And the server was top notch. We laughed a lot during dinner and the server added right in to our fun time. We will be back!

This is the first time my wife and I have been to this restaurant and pleasantly surprised by the overall experience with the food and customer service. Location was great as well, we went for a walk down the Downer Grove down town after the meal to see the variety of cars on display on the street.

We spontaneously chose Scarlettit's Kitchen on the way home from Midway Aiport. Had such a taste for Chicago Italian Food. We ordered the Calamari and Artichoke dip for appetizers. Both were extremely disappointing. The artichokes didn't taste cooked or blended. The calamari was rubbery. The Chicken Picante was the best of the three Entrees. The Chicken/Farfalle with Olio Aglio was awful. The chicken was dark meat, rubbery and with fat. The chicken tasted bad. The Spicy Rigatoni was dried out and poor. We walked away feeling disppointed about the meal and we aren't hard to please.

I'm a vegetarian, so I was sure I'd be able to get eggplant parmasan at a nice neighborhood Italian eatery. Alas, not on the menu. Nevertheless, what they do have for Veg-heads like me was very good (mostaccioli and an elegant specialty salad). I can unequivocally recommend Scarletti's, especially if you're not vegetarian.

We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The food was very good and there were choices for everyone. I am kind of picky, so the make your own pasta was perfect for me. I picked my pasta, the sauce and veggies (there are meat options too). My mom and daughter loved the baked mostacholli, but they both got it without the ricotta cheese since neither one are big fans. The change was no problem and both really enjoyed it. My husband and dad had no problem chowing down a very large pizza. Everyone left satisfied. Since it was my mom's birthday, we had a cake waiting at home. Otherwise, we probably would have tried a dessert. There were many options that sounded delicious. We will try on of those next time!

On a snowing night, we had a very wonderful Italian dinning experience. It's was full but we good our table right away. Our starter was Italian Sausage with Sauteed Peppers and Onions and it was great. Nice start. My entrees was Roasted Salmon on bed of spinach with rosemary, tomatoes and lemon was wonderful and done just right. Wine was a special off the list and great Italian.

Not going back. Service is slow at best . Male waiter is good but was bartending the night we went. The manager is not warm and fuzzy & does not recognize when to step in & help her staff. My friend sent back 2 dirty wine glasses. Food was just ok. Event was going on there so it was overloaded. Not the restaurant's fault but it was their fault that they were understaffed. When they are not overloaded the waitress is still slow. There are too many other restaurants with friendly managers & staff. We will not go back. We have given them too many chances.

We have tried nearly everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The pace of the service is perfect for a relaxed evening out but, since everything is made fresh, it is not fast. This is a sincere restaurant Intent on providing you a memorable and enjoyable food and service experience. It has become our favorite special occasion place to eat and drink. I especially like the sauces and the pasta fagioli. My wife, a great cook in her own kitchen, finds their food outstanding. I would be proud to take any friend to this restaurant for any occasion. There are not many that I would say that about. It is nice to know your service is also good. It is the second time I used it.

Food was awesome but just a touch heavy on the olive oil sauces on the entree. When we return, and we will, we will just ask for a lighter touch on the sauce! Overall a great experience!

It's great that there are still such wonderful independent fine restaurants in Downers Grove. The couple that owns the place is there, working hard to make their place a success. This is the second time that my wife and I have had a Saturday night dinner at Scarletti's. I had the filet of beef (aka filet mignon). This was a special of the night that included green beans with mushrooms and scalloped potatos. Our table of four split a bottle of cabernet. It was a great night out and we will be back again. Although it would be a stretch to say Scarletti's is twice the value for half the price, you won't feel like you paid too much for a great meal and wine like at some of the chain restaurants in town.

Great pasta dishes, pizza, and listen carefully for the nightly specials, they are just wonderful..it's our place to go when we want a good, satisfying dinner that doesn't break the bank. Even though it was only lunch, the entrees were very small. The spinach pesto was a bit boring. Our server didn't offer fresh Parmesan, or other things expected at almost any restaurant other than Denny's, tgi Fridays, or Chilis. My companions agreed, not much flavor in the food, except for salt in the bread served as appetizer. Just so-so food, but worth one more try---I hate to give up, could've been a bad day.
