Terrific!A great restaurant with delicious food and great service!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA special Mother's DayWe went here for Mother's Day dinner after seeing a show. Fantastic, home-cooked food and friendly service! The portion sizes were just right, the meal was paced out perfectly and the wine was fabulous. What a nice break to have an affordable, delicious dinner! I love to cook so it is not very often I go out and enjoy something as much as I what I prepare at home.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and promptDinner was terrific. Wait staff was attentive and prompt.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBroadway GemConsistantly good food and great service. Reasonably priced for the quality of food.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPre theatre gemFood at this restaurant was very good. Our waiter was very attentive even though the restaurant was quite busy.
The only drawback was it was very noisy as it was pre- theatre so if you just want a good dinner in that neighborhood go a little later.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat pre-theaterGot there around 6pm, had a 7pm show. Was able to enjoy an app as well as our meals and still make our show. Pumpkin ravioli are just a delight.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GoodScarlatto's food is consistently good and is a great location for a pre-theater lunch or dinner. I have been going to this restuarant for years. I like to allow for plenty of time for meals, but if you need to get in and out quickly they definitely accommodate.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place before theater,Great place before theater, after or just for lovely night out. Before theater it can get very noisy and crowded. But food always shines. A pre theater menu is a bargain, 3 full courses for $29..and these are not skimpy portions. Mussels were tender and in a savory garlic sauce, pasta with mushrooms was lovely. The grilled chicken breast with potatoes flavorful. Tiramisu or pan a Cora round out the meal.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTheater District GemThis is the second time that I have eaten at this restaurant and was very pleased. The food is excellent and the service is very good. The prices are fair and it is located in the heart of the theater district.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was better than I expectedFood was better than I expected considering it's right in the heart of theater district. Most places are tourists' traps in my estimation. I go often to NYC and look for "unknown" restaurants, but I wanted a conveniently located restaurant, and Scarlatto's was a surprise. My only criticism, is the appetizer portions were huge, basically a meal in itself. I would like if they offered half portions of the appetizers or reduced the amount and charged less. I couldn't finish my dinner after eating the appetizer. No room to try any of the desserts, though some looked tempting.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected GREAT FOOD Decor ServiceThis was a great unexpected pleasure! So rare to find a restaurant in the theatre district that has such good food that it makes me want to go again just for the food and not just for the location! I had the fabulous, fresh, beautifully prepared salmon on the price fixed menu. Bargain! Everything was first rate. Same with my husband's choice of gnocchi. Best tiramisu ever. The decor is lovely with exposed brick walls with elegant crystal wall sconces, crisp blue check table cloths, elegant chairs and rustic wood floors. They are very efficient and will get you out quickly for the theatre or come after 7:45 for a more leisurely dinner in a more quiet setting. This restaurant obviously cares about repeat customers not just tourists.Well done!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thoroughly enjoyed ourWe thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently a favorite. Food,Consistently a favorite. Food, service, ambience all fantastic.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMModerate prices and great foodScarlatto's is that rare find in the theater district--reasonable prices, great food, friendly service, and feeling like you are eating where the tourists don't go. We come up from the DC area about once and year, and we always make a reservation for Scarlatto's.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for pre-theater diningHave been here multiple times. Will return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDependable gemAlways dependable theater district go to restaurant. The staff is very friendly and capable. The pre-theater dinner is a very good deal. You get full portions, and speedy service if necessary. If you allow 1.5 hours for dinner, the pacing is just right. The decor is classy and spotlessly clean. The kitchen staff are very capable based on our meals. We will be back.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been there multiple timesHave been there multiple times over the past years and always consistently good.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were late to our reservationWe were late to our reservation due to major tunnel traffic. We still went to Scarlotto and just let the server know that he could bring everything out together... Not to worry about spacing the food out since we had tickets to a show. He was great. He got everything out to us in 15 minutes. The food was delicious. My party of 4 tried the linguini with clams, the gnocchi, the chicken parmesan, and the pasta with the veal (forget the name). Not one complaint about food. Great pre-show spot! Around 7:45 the restaurant really died down. So if you are looking for a quiet time to go, go around 7:45-8.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMConsidering they r often busyConsidering they r often busy you do not feel rushed and at
the same time was able to leave in time for our show!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is a theaterThis restaurant is a theater district gem. Scarlatto never fails in food quality and service.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe wandered in here afterWe wandered in here after a matinee. What a great place for dinner--everything was wonderful, but the pumpkin ravioli was the star. During peak times, make a reservation.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a Pre-Show DinnerWe made a last minute reservation for Scarlatto, so I expected it to be less than crowded. Boy was I wrong. Obviously a popular place with both tourists and locals, we enjoyed our pre-theater, fixed price meal immensely. Starting off with drinks (not included), my husband and I enjoyed appetizers, entrees and desserts (my husband enjoyed his sea bass a great deal). We were certainly not rushed, even with the full house, and our waitress was extremely courteous and efficient. We made our early show in plenty of time, and we would certainly return for another meal.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMScarlatto was fantastic.Scarlatto was fantastic. Food and service were topnotch. Gnocchi, ravioli, and eggplant all melted in your mouth- tasted my kids' meals ... I had fish special which was amazing. We shared a few desserts, definitely get the bread pudding!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it loved it loved it.Loved it loved it loved it. Went for the 42 anniv of day we got engaged. Then show. Nice ambiance as well. Not crowded with tables and the decoration looks very good.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food as always.Delicious food as always. I don't think I'm ever disappointed when I come to Scarlatto. There is a new lunch prixe fix - $15.95 for app and entree - and it is definitely a steal. I was on the brink of licking the bowl. I had the salad and the carbonara; my friends had the tomato eggplant pasta and the chicken in a green sauce (peas I think) and they both finished their plates also.
Dessert was ok but the coffee was so good. I would absolutely go back and absolutely recommend this place. The staff was attentive and speedier than usual so that was much appreciated.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre-theater meal. WeGreat pre-theater meal. We did the Prix Fixed menu ands the choices were great. The Pasta with mushrooms and truffle sauce was excellent...just enough truffle to not overpower the food. The staff did not rush us and let us relax and enjoy our wine before ordering dessert/coffee. Great experience.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, delightfulGreat service, delightful atmosphere and good food.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA good choiceJust picked this place because it was convenient but was very pleasantly surprised. It's adorable with the blue and white checkered tablecloth yet elegant at the same time with a beautiful fireplace, exposed brick and crystal sconces. The service was excellent and the restaurant was filled. We weren't rushed but they were very attentive. The food was delicious. We took advantage of the pre fix. The portions were generous and very tasty! Can't wait to return next time we are in the theater district.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIN a hurry! We started with a 5:00 reservation as we had to catch a show by 7:00. Coming from Jersey this was a task. We were stuck in the tunnel for more than 1 1/2 hours. I called Scarlatto's several times to alert them of our latness. They were more than accomdating when we arrived at 6:15. They had our table ready for us and our waiter was at hand immediately. Dinner was served promptly with some spare sometime to walk to our show. They took good care of us, and paid close attention to our need of making sure we were able to make the show. Dinner was hot and delicious! Thank you Saclattos for making our short time most enjoyable. I recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for dinner and show. Perfect vacinity to all theathers.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely spot for after theatreLovely spot for after theatre dinner. A reasonably priced spot for a good pre-theatre dinner!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-theater OptionAlways a good pre-theater meal in a pleasant space. We both ordered the arugala and parmesan salad and the filet of branzino. The fish was perfectly prepared in a light lemon-caper sauce. It was presented with fingerling potatoes, also perfectly cooked. A simple but very good meal. The Scarlatto wine list is full of very good Italian selections -- just what it should be.1/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
