Scarlattotoo many busboyshovering around trying to take our plates while we were still eating... annoying!! We felt like we were being rushed.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTheater district secretLoved the Northern Italian specialties! All the food was well prepared. However, they can't seem to serve everyone their dishes at the same time. However, service was timely enough to get us out on time for our show time. And, you can actually hear your dinner partners.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded expectationsHow good could a Broadway restaurant be! All four of us very were pleasantly surprised. Great pasta!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-TheaterImportant note about Scarlatto's-- there is an upstairs section in addition to the main dining room on the first floor. The staircase is long and narrow, and there are a limited number of tables up there. Advantage is it's much quieter than the main room, but the stairs could a a problem for older folks.
Went for pre-theater dinner with friends. Scalatto's has their act together. The service was very prompt and efficient and the food was good. They had us in and out in about an hour.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThey serve you too quickly. They serve you too quickly. We want a nice relaxing dinner before the show.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGood prixe fixed lunchService is very nice
Bread brought right away
Lunch menus are nice portions are ok but with salmon and chicken
Could have used a potato or pasta needed something more
Desserts are fabulous cappuccino is nicely presented6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTheatre district good spotGood pre theatre dinner. Good was solid. Timely. Service was good. Party if four was happy with what each had. Lamb shanks was voted the winner at the table but all was good6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMScarlatto's has an ideal locationScarlatto's has an ideal location for theater. The food is presented well, and there's a very nice prix fixe menu at lunch.
Drinks are expensive, though.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWill be back soonThis was my third time dining at Scarlatto's. the wait staff is so friendly, helpful and attentive. Food is outstanding, portions generous. Prices are a little high, but worth it. We'll be back soon!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Pre (or post) theater menuWe came after a matinee show. Everyone ordered from the pre-theater menu. The food was tasty and well priced. The portions weren't overly large and the service was snappy. I'd definitely recommend eating here before or after a show.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMScarlatto...A great find!Chose this restaurant for close proximity to the Theatre. What a find! A great 3 course Prix Fix. Very accommodating wait staff, attention was paid to food allergies. Nice wine selection by the glass and bottle. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
The 2 dessert choices for the Prix Fix were excellent.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMclassic italian done rightThe servide was superb as was the food. This is the fourth time I have been there so that is my biggest endorsment. I return. We feasted on very well made pasta cabonara, branzini and salmon, great chicken limone. The portions are moderate size. The desserts were remarkably light . The bread is a meal unto itself. It really is a find in congested and commercial times square. It does get crowded so make reservations but they seem to try to accomodate everyone. Nice smiles all the way around. Never rushed.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMTheater District GemWe suggested this restaurant to our friends from San Francisco. When we're up from DC we always try haivng one meal here. Consistently fine food, great service and nice ambiance.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGood theater district restaurantI had Bronzino and my husband had veal. Both dishes were excellent. The menu is small but very interesting.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favoriteI have bento Scarlottas many times. The service is wonderful, the food excellent, and the ambiance quiet enough to have a conversation. Two other wonderful things are the round tables for larger groups - we have been as many as ten. The antipasto serves at least two, the prefixe menu has great choices. I had divine mussels, great scalloped and tiramisu. Wonderful!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to ScarlottosI have been to Scarlottos many times and I'm always very pleased with food, service and atmosphere. I plan to return again and again!!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA Touch of ItalyOn a recent theater night, Scarlatto seemed a perfect choice due to location. However, I would go out of my way to dine here again! The food and service were exceptional! The pasta was outstanding and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Many regulars were on the scene, but first timers were treated equally well! A touch of real Italy on 47th Street.
The barman was especially entertaining and solicitous.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre-theater dinner.Great pre-theater dinner. Prix fixe menu is somewhat limited, but the dinner is fine. (Chicken was tasty, and no problem substituting spinach for broccoli.) Service was terrific: attentive and made sure we enjoyed ourselves - and got to the show on time.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific!A great restaurant with delicious food and great service!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMlove this restaurantScarlatta is my go to restaurant. I make reservations there for my theater group for the prix-fixe lunch which is always an excellent choice. They accommodate all dietary needs. I have been there for their prix-fixe dinners (3 courses) and the choices are great, even with the upcharges. I keep going back. Highly recommended.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMgood for theater districtHave eaten at Scarlatto's many times - this time had the pre-fixe with the veal scaloppini main course - the veal was thin, tough and dry - other courses were fine - soup and dessert (tiramisu). As usual extremely noisy downstairs but fortunately we had reserved a table upstairs.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA special Mother's DayWe went here for Mother's Day dinner after seeing a show. Fantastic, home-cooked food and friendly service! The portion sizes were just right, the meal was paced out perfectly and the wine was fabulous. What a nice break to have an affordable, delicious dinner! I love to cook so it is not very often I go out and enjoy something as much as I what I prepare at home.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and promptDinner was terrific. Wait staff was attentive and prompt.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBroadway GemConsistantly good food and great service. Reasonably priced for the quality of food.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPre theatre gemFood at this restaurant was very good. Our waiter was very attentive even though the restaurant was quite busy.
The only drawback was it was very noisy as it was pre- theatre so if you just want a good dinner in that neighborhood go a little later.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMScarlattoWe had theatre tix for 7 p.m. and decided on an early dinner (5:30). We were seated right away, our wine order taken, then our food order - the food was delicious - we were out in time to walk to the play. A great pre-theatre spot.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat pre-theaterGot there around 6pm, had a 7pm show. Was able to enjoy an app as well as our meals and still make our show. Pumpkin ravioli are just a delight.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GoodScarlatto's food is consistently good and is a great location for a pre-theater lunch or dinner. I have been going to this restuarant for years. I like to allow for plenty of time for meals, but if you need to get in and out quickly they definitely accommodate.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHGreat for before or aftrHGreat for before or aftr a broadway show.ad an enjoyable dinner, good food, pleasant service and nice décor.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place before theater,Great place before theater, after or just for lovely night out. Before theater it can get very noisy and crowded. But food always shines. A pre theater menu is a bargain, 3 full courses for $29..and these are not skimpy portions. Mussels were tender and in a savory garlic sauce, pasta with mushrooms was lovely. The grilled chicken breast with potatoes flavorful. Tiramisu or pan a Cora round out the meal.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for our post-theaterPerfect for our post-theater 5:00 dinner and accommodated our group of 7 well. Wait staff was friendly, large selection on the menu and the food was very good - definately recommend the dessert. Accommodated our two young children also! It was great to NOT be in a crowded loud place!! We all left happy and with full bellies :-)4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTheater District GemThis is the second time that I have eaten at this restaurant and was very pleased. The food is excellent and the service is very good. The prices are fair and it is located in the heart of the theater district.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was better than I expectedFood was better than I expected considering it's right in the heart of theater district. Most places are tourists' traps in my estimation. I go often to NYC and look for "unknown" restaurants, but I wanted a conveniently located restaurant, and Scarlatto's was a surprise. My only criticism, is the appetizer portions were huge, basically a meal in itself. I would like if they offered half portions of the appetizers or reduced the amount and charged less. I couldn't finish my dinner after eating the appetizer. No room to try any of the desserts, though some looked tempting.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMTheater district Italian restaurantOur party of 4 was seated right away at our reserved time. Great Italian restaurant in the the thick of the theater district. We were in at 6 and out by 7:30. Never felt rushed and the service was good. The pasta alla carbonara was a favorite at our table! The place got very busy by the time we left, so reservations are a must! Would definitely go back.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected GREAT FOOD Decor ServiceThis was a great unexpected pleasure! So rare to find a restaurant in the theatre district that has such good food that it makes me want to go again just for the food and not just for the location! I had the fabulous, fresh, beautifully prepared salmon on the price fixed menu. Bargain! Everything was first rate. Same with my husband's choice of gnocchi. Best tiramisu ever. The decor is lovely with exposed brick walls with elegant crystal wall sconces, crisp blue check table cloths, elegant chairs and rustic wood floors. They are very efficient and will get you out quickly for the theatre or come after 7:45 for a more leisurely dinner in a more quiet setting. This restaurant obviously cares about repeat customers not just tourists.Well done!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visitThis was our second visit to Scarlatto. The food was very good. We choose the prixe fixed dinner. Everyone is our group enjoyed the dinner. I found the service a little scattered. Service was a little rushed with our dinners being practically thrown on to the table and to the wrong person. No one came over to see if we wanted coffee with our dessert until we had all finished.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a delicious dinner. We had a delicious dinner. The staff was attentive and pleasant.

Food, service, ambience all fantastic.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMModerate prices and great foodScarlatto's is that rare find in the theater district--reasonable prices, great food, friendly service, and feeling like you are eating where the tourists don't go. We come up from the DC area about once and year, and we always make a reservation for Scarlatto's.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for pre-theater diningHave been here multiple times. Perfect location for pre-theater dining. Friendly staff great menu4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely restaurant in the theatre diWe enjoyed lunch at Scarlatto .

We will return to this restaurant .4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good value- we had seaVery good value- we had sea bass and pasta with veal ragu- both excellent. They do a great job of serving theatre goers quickly, too. Tiramisu very very fine as well!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellent. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place. For being in the theater district, it was not overpriced and we were all very pleased with the overall experience.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a favorite spot whileAlways a favorite spot while I am in the area attending the theater. Staff is very reliable and pleasant. Also eating at the bar is recommended for a quick bite and drink.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe eat here all the time,We eat here all the time, when we go to the theatre and love it. Always great service and great food!!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre theaterWe have been to scarletto many times, and this time did not disappoint . Will return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDependable gemAlways dependable theater district go to restaurant. The staff is very friendly and capable. The pre-theater dinner is a very good deal. You get full portions, and speedy service if necessary. If you allow 1.5 hours for dinner, the pacing is just right. The decor is classy and spotlessly clean. The kitchen staff are very capable based on our meals. We will be back.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been there multiple timesHave been there multiple times over the past years and always consistently good.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were late to our reservationWe were late to our reservation due to major tunnel traffic. We still went to Scarlotto and just let the server know that he could bring everything out together... Not to worry about spacing the food out since we had tickets to a show. He was great. He got everything out to us in 15 minutes. The food was delicious. My party of 4 tried the linguini with clams, the gnocchi, the chicken parmesan, and the pasta with the veal (forget the name). Not one complaint about food. Great pre-show spot! Around 7:45 the restaurant really died down. So if you are looking for a quiet time to go, go around 7:45-8.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
