I had the monk fish. It was very good! We had a private table in an alcove. It was very nice to have privacy and not have to listen to or see any other diners. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

I go to Scarborough`s regularly for special occasions. This was the first time I was disappointed. I was there with friends from Florida who were visiting with me & was very disappointed with the quality of service & food that Scarborough`s is noted for. I always considered Scarborough`s a fine dining restaurant. I will go there again in the hopes that I just caught an off night but if I have the same experience I won`t be going back.

Scarborough Fair had been a favorite of my neighbor so we lunched there together many times. After she died, this restaurant was totally off my radar as her loss left such a void. Thanks to Open Table, I went there for lunch with a friend & it was wonderful! They were also hosting their annual luncheon for Wounded Warriors of NJ which was truly humbling. I've now made a reservation for dinner in a few weeks to treat my in-laws to a new dining experience (for them) in our neighborhood -- thanks!

As always, we are not disappointed when visiting Scarborough Fair. Food is good, and the ambiance, wonderful. The chef's surprise appetizer is always welcome - this visit it was broccoli tempura with sushi-grade tuna and some wonderful sauce. We ordered from the "early bird" dinner menu and were very pleased. The brownie a la mode was a delight!

Both the appetizer and the meal were not good at all. The food les us to believe that maybe the chef quit and someone with little to no knowledge of cooking prepared it. We had dinner there in the past and it was not this way. Our waiter was also most likely brand new and, while that would be fine with us, he seemed to have zero personal skills, which was uncomfortable.

We haven't been here in years so we decided to give it a try. The rolls were great, hot and crispy, I ordered the monkfish which I didn't care for, it was tough and chewy in places. I also had the lobster bisque which was good, but I didn't expect the lobster mashed potatoes that came with my meal to be mashed potatoes with lobster bisque poured over them. The service was excellent, the ambiance is wonderful, I will return, determined to hit on a great meal, next time I think I'll try the rack of lamb.......

We just had a wonderful dinner there. Our server, Rob, was fantastic. He was ever-present but not hovering. First server in my life to ask before he brought the check. I know ordering a house salad is boring, but this one was just perfect, fresh lettuce, and properly dressed ( I like to taste the veggies as well as the dressing!) Antelope sausage was devoured by husband before I could taste it! Rack of veal was superb, perfect medium rare. Followed servers advice for the roast duck and was not disappointed. The cherry sauce was a perfect accompaniment. Atmosphere was perfect. We were upstairs, as the alcoves were full and so could enjoy the quiet ambiance. We will certainly return.

I surprised my wife and took her to Scarborough Fair for our ten year anniversary. We loved it! They even had our table waiting with rose petals and hearts on it for our anniversary! The alcove table was very private and romantic. The service was excellent. Bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, YES! I had tuna in a lemoncello sauce which was also excellent. Topped it off with delicious cheesecake.

I enjoyed a very nice meal with six friends recently. The staff was very helpful booking this evening. I tried doing it online since it was a Sunday and the restaurant was closed. The next day I received a call concerning my reservation and everything was handled in a very professional manner. After the lovely evening, I got another call that a sweater was found at our table. Great atmosphere, food, and service. That is a triple good thing to me!

Food was delicious ! I ordered chef special soup of the day, broccoli/cheddar which wasn't too thick or cheesy and I enjoyed. Husband had Caesar salad which we easily could have shared. Husband had monkfish and I had steak, both of us pleased with our meal. Both our busboy and waitress were attentive, but not overbearing. We actually began chatting with Morgan, and he was extremely personable. Too bad for Scarborough Fair that he must be off to college by now.

Staff was very attentive and responsive from the moment we walked in. Ambience very nice, but avoid being seated by the bus station. Food was good but not great, and our entrees came out warm, not hot. Had to send them back for reheat. Still not hot. Dessert was awesome. May have to try it again sometime, but won't rush to do so.

We used to go here for every special family event and loved it. After a 10 year break my husband suggested it for his 36th birthday. Our drinks took forever and were watered down. Our clams and oysters from the raw bar were warm. The puff pastry on the escargot was undercooked and chewy. We had both planned on ordering the scallops but they did not have them that evening. We settled on the shrimp Athenia. I requested mine over penne rather than linguine and the penne was so undercooked it was crunchy. The flavor and complexity of the dish dish was something I could throw together in 10 minutes in my own kitchen for a fraction of the cost. With so many amazing dining options at the Jersey Shore we were severely disappointed with our dinner.

The waitstaff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were quite attentive, but knew when to leave you alone to enjoy the meal. My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The server who seated us asked if it was a special occasion, and we told him. He then scattered some rose pedals on the table and comped us both an appetizer and dessert. The manager was also very friendly; he came over to congratulate us, and gave us a tour of the building at the end of our meal. The building, being a converted farmhouse, is unique in its appearance. There are many "alcoves" when you first enter for a secluded more romantic feeling, and there are bigger rooms up the stairs. The woodwork and stained glass was beautiful and added to the atmosphere.

The service was attentive without being overly so. And for a more intimate dining experience book a table on one of the several landings.

We have been to Scarborough Fair several times for diner and have never been disappointed. Excellent food, service and ambience! This was the first time we tried it for brunch. It was a great Father's Day with an amazing brunch. Everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. I love the fact that it is sit down and served to patrons instead of a buffet. They offered an excellent choice of entrées from Salmon, eggs benedict to steak and eggs. I had the eggs benedict which was the best I have ever had. Although my wife and I will continue to frequent Scarborough Fair for diner, we are hoping that they continue to have their brunches as well. Not to be missed!

We reserved an alcove table, which was really intimate and romantic, perfect for celebrating our anniversary. Appetizers were yummy, especially the Ahi Tuna, melted in my mouth. Bacon-wrapped shrimp were also good, but typical. I had filet mignon (w/asparagus & mashed potatoes) while my husband had the NY strip (w/roasted potatoes & spinach) really delicious and we took half of it home. The grand finale, (sooo yummy & incredible) was the white chocolate creme brulee. Can't wait to go back. The only criticism I have is how early they close up. When we go out for a special occasion, we like to linger and enjoy the evening, but the hours are only to 10:00pm on Friday & Saturday (9:00 on other nights)

This was our first time at Scarborough Fair and it was was beyond what we expected. We knew it'd be romantic (our 14th wedding anniversary) but the alcove was absolutely perfect; like having a private table ensconced in a beautiful old home. The food was 10 star quality. My wife's crabmeat melange was perfect and my bacon wrapped wild shrimp appetizer was superb. The Lobster Bisque has made it into my top 3 ever. We've been lucky enough to travel throughout the US, the US and British Virgin Islands and western Europe and for me, this was the without-a-doubt best steak I've ever had. My wife said the scallops entree is now the standard by which all others will be judged. Too bad we didn't have any room for dessert. Many, many thanks.
