  • "Over the last 3 months I have brought 8 friends, neighbors or business associates to Scapa on 4 separate visits. During these visits most of the people tried different entrees. Everyone love the food and said they would be coming back. Some have already come back and brought their friends. With 3 separate rooms and alfresco dining you never feel crowded. For that special occasion they even have tables behind curtains for an intimate feeling. It is nice to find a place you can bring others and not worry about the food or service. In the 10 plus times we have been here the food and the service have been superb."

  • "Have eaten here for several years, never disappointed. Menu has changed recently and is even better. Try the new Steak Diane - the mushroom gravy-style sauce is delicious. Whenever family is in town we go here, start with the tasty cocktails, then on to the wide range of appetizers (try the sausage and peppers), then to the main courses - chicken, fish, steaks, pasta - service and food, like I said above, never disappointed. Priced right, too."

  • "Just visited Scapa Italian Kitchen for the first time on a Sunday night. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere is very nice. Our complaint was the slow service. We ordered 2 appetizers to start with. The second appetizer arrived well after we finished the first. Then came the long wait for our entrees. We were very surprised at the slow service since most of the tables were open."

We dine fairly often as a group of four or six, and enjoy catching up with each other. It was impossible to relax with the waitstaff all over us."

  • "A group of 4: we had appetizers Rissoto with scallops, very good. Eggplant rolls also, very good and baked clams loved them. 2 fish dinners, rigatoni and lobster ravioli. All good but, my one complaint they could ease up on the salt. Desserts I'd pass on. Lemon bars but they had an aluminum taste and spumoni that was crystalized. I'd go back,"

  • "My wife and I often dine in the bar for half price appetizers. Tonight we brought a couple of older friends to dine in the main restaurant where we had a great time. We could talk comfortably at the table. The wait staff was prompt, friendly, but not overbearing. Food is excellent. The veal parmigiana is outstanding. I had perfectly cooked scallops with the best risotto in Chicago. Tony, the owner, works the room so everyone feels as if they are visiting his home."

  • "This is one of my favorite places! The owners are fantastic! They make a point of coming out to greet the customers and ask their opinions. They also make things right when there is any problem with your experience. We had a slight wait to get our drink order taken, only 10 or 15 minutes, so the owners gave us our first round on them. The food is also fantastic! I have been here on multiple occasions and have ordered many different items from the menu and each one is better than the last! I would recommend for everyone to try Scapa for a total dining experience. I even recommend if you want going up there to watch a sporting event and grab some drinks and snacks with friends!"

  • "I have to be fair. I went to Scapa around 8 years ago when they were at a different location, it was a tiny place. The food and the ambience was outstanding. I just went for Mothers day and found they changed locations. They moved to a bigger place which is a good thing, however the service was horrible. They were really backed up. Our food took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive. The manager came out (I think it was the manager, he didn't identify himself) and apologized and comped our deserts. Every table waited an enormous amount of time. I will go there again just because I feel like they were busy because of a holiday. The food was good. Just go there when you are not rushed just in case this is the norm but I highly doubt it."

  • "Ok, so first and foremost, I did a lot of research online before going there on mothers day. It got a lot of good reviews online. But the restaurant I went to WAS NOT at all like the reviews I read. I was so disappointed. Our server sucked, the food was dry, overcooked, and way to salty!! The ambience was nice, but that's it. Oh, and there tiramisu was actually really good, but I didn't go there got dessert. Again, thoroughly disappointed!!!"

  • "My family is Italian, and we cook recipes passed down over generations from Italy, so I think we have a pretty discerning palette when it comes to Italian food. We were very impressed with the quality, the service, the atmosphere at Scapa Italian Kitchen - and it is quite affordable. The menu at Scapa is extensive. Fortunately, they also offer a wide range of cocktails and wines that you can sip on while deciding what to order! We sampled five different entrees, all of which were beautifully presented and delicious and each of which was accompanied by freshly made, melt-in-your-mouth pasta. Cannoli, tiramisu, and coffee were the perfect end to the evening. Scapa is a true local gem and a new family favorite!"

  • "The food was excellent. One of the best chicken limone (aka chicken picata) I have ever had. The bruschetta was also excellent. My waiter was very friendly and attentative. I liked the private tables they offer with drapery for privacy. I appreciated the fact that they offered "1/2 pour" glass of wine, at 1/2 the cost. It was a nice way to have a taste of wine with dinner without adding a lot to the bill, as well as a good idea for people who are driving. I will definitely go back! "

  • "The food and service were great. We were seated at a table with curtains surrounding it (it pays to make reservations!) so that helped immensely with the noise level, which was energetic. I think if we weren't there it would have been pretty noisy. Otherwise, it is a great place!"

  • "Great Italian food in relaxing setting. The Marsala is very good as well as the braised short ribs. Dinner rolls are also extremely tasty. There are several tables that can be closed of with curtains for a more quiet and private dining. Staff from the hostess to our waitress were friendly and attentive. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Never had a bad meal or experience."

  • "I often come to Scapa for the great deal on eating in the bar on Mondays and Tuesdays. I took my family to the restaurant on Easter and the meal was outstanding. Appetizers were excellent: lobster mac and calamari fritti. My dinner of scallops with risotto was as good as eating gets. One notable thing was that there was an inadvertent spill that splashed a little on my daughter's dress. It was not a big deal, but the staff response was totally solicitous and gracious. They care about providing a great experience. "

  • "Don't expect quiet, romantic. But do expect good food. Tony the owner makes a point to visit each table to check on your experience. Grilled calamari great but it is a bit spicy for those that are concerned. Not all pastas are made on premises but their 8 finger cavatelli is and I enjoyed it immensely with the arrabiata sauce. Chicken parmesan was good. Wasn't thin but very moist. Bread is served with a butter or oil on top but you can get it plain. Wanted to order a half chicken dish but they were out of chicken at that point. Didn't make sense for a Saturday night."
