  • "Open Table was easy to use and Scapa is a great restaurant!! We've been there before and have enjoyed it every time."

  • "Don't expect quiet, romantic. But do expect good food. Tony the owner makes a point to visit each table to check on your experience. Grilled calamari great but it is a bit spicy for those that are concerned. Not all pastas are made on premises but their 8 finger cavatelli is and I enjoyed it immensely with the arrabiata sauce. Chicken parmesan was good. Wasn't thin but very moist. Bread is served with a butter or oil on top but you can get it plain. Wanted to order a half chicken dish but they were out of chicken at that point. Didn't make sense for a Saturday night."

  • "Great Italian fare! And what a wide range of choices! We started with grilled calamari and it was delicious. Not need for a dipping sauce. My veal was tender and flavorful. Wonderful wine assortments and very reasonable prices. We will be back!"

  • "Scapa was a perfect restaurant to celebrate our 34th anniversary :) It was recommended by a friend, and we are so glad we tried it! Food was fantastic, service was attentive, wine list was on target for what we wanted, and the bananas foster desert was a delightful finish. We will return, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a super-good meal in an upscale setting tucked into a charming community town."

  • "My wife and I each picked a delicious wine from the extensive wine list. The Capri salad was fresh and unique, using purple tomatoes. Entree's were reasonably priced and also delicious. My wife's salmon was perfectly prepared. My Nana's Eggplant was much like Lasagna -- layered, just the right amount of cheese, and also very delicious. Highly recommended."

  • "My wife and I were in need of a night out, and had a couple work success to celebrate - so what was I thinking? Not cooking, and going out for Italian, of course! I was initially looking at Capri or the like, but came across some great Yelp! reviews of Scapa. I decided to give it a shot - what a great decision! My only complaint would be that the menu was a bit daunting - I'm sure they could pare it back a bit, there's a LOT there. Everything we had was great - one of the best caprese salads I've ever had, very hearty and flavorful lasagna, and tender veal were highlights - along with great wine and beer selections, and an outstanding tiramisu to cap the night off. To really seal our return, service was great - and the owner very friendly!"

  • "Found Scapa on my OpenTable website when another restaurant in the area was unable to seat our large party for an 8:00 p.m. repast. I'm very glad that Scapa was able to accommodate our party of 12 because the food and the service were great. Scapa is not located on or even visible from a main street or roadway so the business it gets from non Clarendon Hills patrons has to be from word of mouth and good reviews. Scapa is an awesome restaurant to which we definitely shall return."

  • "I think this place is great for a romantic or casual dining experience. Definitely make reservations and expect to spend around $30-$40 per person. I had the seared scallops with mushroon risotto as an appetizer and a steak salad for the entree. Very delicious and service was quick. Definitely recommended."

  • "A great dining experience! From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and were glad we chose Scapa. The service was friendly and helpful, the food was excellent. Try the lasagna. Very good wine at a reasonable price. The manager came by to make sure we were enjoying our dinner and we definitely were enjoying it. We will be going back to try more of the menu."

  • "Last minute Valentine's Day reservation put us in early than I'm used to - at 5 p.m. Personal welcome from our hostess who seated us and took our coats. It was quiet early and service was good, as expected. They make nice big drinks here and the Manhattan, with instruction, was made to my preference. Scapa chopped salad and grouper over mushrooms and artichoke mix. Very very nice. Picked up by the time we left at 6:45 so that restaurant was very busy."

  • "Food was very good and restaurant was a bit crowded but that is to be expected on Valentines Day. The bruscetta as an appetizer was terrific and the Gnoochi was tasty. My fiance seemed to enjoy her dish. Good ambiance and very romantic. We will be back."

  • "We went here for dinner on Valentine's Day ... a very busy night to be dining out. We never felt rushed here. The service was very good and the food was delicious! Wonderful greeting at the door when we arrived. We plan to return again soon."

  • "One thing I love about this restaurant is the decor. All areas are divided by heavy, elegant, floor to ceiling curtains that give it a mysterious element. It is even possible to sit in a private alcove behind heavy draperies. Add to this an extensive, reasonably priced, menu with delicious dishes, and on the night we dined there was a very good duo playing live music in the bar that had us lingering after dinner. I can't wait to return!"

  • "Wife and I went here for Valentine's day after reading the reviews online. Food was good and the atmosphere was great. They had a 2 person band playing the whole time. Nice little restaurant. I plan on going back."

  • "Given that it was a holiday our expectations were slightly lower but the Scapa staff was outstanding. Service was as great as the food and we were shown to our table exactly at our reservation time. The servers were working very hard on a busy night. Our meals (chicken parmesan and pesto chicken) were very good with enough to bring home leftovers. Highly recommend this spot!!!"

  • "Scapa is a terrific place, with wonderful food and great service. To borrow from a line from The Godfather. "Try the veal. It's one of the best in the burbs.""

  • "Perfect for a romantic dinner (although there were a few kids dining around us, they weren't loud - we go out to get away from our kids!)"

  • "Scapa is a cozy restaurant in Clarendon Hills that has it all. The menu is vast, wine list is good, and the bar scene is solid, especially when they have entertainment. The service is very good. Overall it is outstanding!"

  • "6 pm reservation. The ambiance was good. The menu reads well. It ends there. Our party of six was seated with a direct view into the kitchen. After 70 minutes we still did not have our soup or salad. The calamari was good, the lobster Mac and cheese was so separated and greasy it was Inedible. The zucchini fritte was too thick and slightly burned. The cream of broccoli soup was so filled with white pepper that not one of us could tolerate it. The meatball was dry and spicy. The lobster ravioli Alfredo sauce was thick and heavy and bland. The chicken Marsala was sweet and sticky and comparable to airplane food. After 2.5 hours and sending half of our party out at 7:50 to catch their show, the ordeal was over. Do not bother."

  • "I've been here several times, but this was our best experience. We had let the restaurant know that it was our son's 9th birthday (and that Grandma was also along celebrating her birthday). Our waiter (Mark) made the night really fun and special for all of us -- all 7! Service was great, food delicious, ambience terrific. They gave us a great table over by the bar, that felt like a separate room. A good time for all!"

  • "Chose this based on other review and glad we did. Everything was great and will definitely go back. Owner stopped by to make sure everything was good and you could tell she wanted it to be perfect. Loved this two mini desserts -- ordered one of each for the four of us to share and it was a perfect end to the meal."

  • "It was an okay dinner. I have had much better meals at Italian restaurants. Soup was nice. Appetizers were okay. I didn't like the pizza I had. My wife loved her chicken dish. Dessert was fine. Service was very good. Menu has plenty of varieties. Very calm location"
