Scampo at The Liberty HotelRomantic brunchIt was a perfect Sunday brunch and our waitress was adorable. I have already recommended friends to go to this place as it was great. Very different than Clink upstairs and I def prefer Scampo a million times for the ambiance.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience. TheGreat dining experience. The food was delicious and innovative. The ambiance was fun and sophisticated. And the service (including recommendations) was outstanding.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMalways something to enjoyPeople meeting at the bar, including the varied and interesting staff. Entertaining when we're overlooking the kitchen, drinks are always good. It's a menu where you need to ask and put your trust in your servers suggestions, we've never been let down, just wish portions were smaller so I could try more! We always look forward to going, hope there are fasion shows again and love the yappy hour, etc!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlready made another booking. My new Boston favorite. Great flavor, genuine service, worth the money.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMdid not get good tabledespite reservation made 2 weeks+ in advance, sat on the bar height table.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLots of fun. Food is veryLots of fun. Food is very good and there's a nice variety of moderately priced choices as well as more expensive dishes.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLobster Pizza is excellentLobster Pizza is excellent - worth a visit just for that.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA little too noisy, but aA little too noisy, but a fun and innovative restaurant.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMScampo was once again a perfectScampo was once again a perfect experience. My family was in town visiting and I recommended going here as a special occasion. Although it was pricey, the food and service completely made up for it. Everyone loved it and was appreciative of the complimentary dessert to compensate for the mistake made on one of our appetizers.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMagnificient food & serviceThe food was magnificient(spaghetti vongola, two pizzas, gnocchi, 2 desserts, and fresh loose tea), as were the cocktails, and the wine (a silky, reasonably priced Pinot Nero). Kitchen does not take Sunday night off! Flavors were fresh & combinations were unusual but made sense (i.e. spanish anchovy & roasted garlic) But lots of places have great food. But what makes Scampo special is the hosiptality towards an ordinary guest (a non-VIP)- the warm & gracious host staff (enthusiasm seemed real, not fake), the efficient and unobtrusive backwaiters, and finally our wonderful servers, Isabella and Conrad. We start so slow and linger way too long, testing any server's patience, but they made us feel swelcome during those 4.5 hours (sorry :)!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food. Nice atmosphere,Awesome food. Nice atmosphere, although a bit noisy. Service was great4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything deliciousHad a delicious dinner at Scampo. Had asked for a quiet table and we were accommodated with a great spot towards the back of the restaurant. The Naan with prosciutto arugula and balsamic was amazing, as were the tandoori scallop starter. Tried the lobster Gnocchi and rapini sausage rigatoni - both were excellent. one member of our party had the duck and raved about it. very nice red wine recommended by the waiter (who was also very nice and attentive). Would go back in a heartbeat - the only problem was trying to choose what to order.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMShire Strikes Again & We Love It!Chef Lydia Shire has created an inventive, stunning and ever-evolving restaurant with Scampo. This is dining spot is unique. From the paper thin pizzas (the Lobster Pizza will make your mouth water for years to come), to the avant-garde presentation of Calf's Brain as part of the Fritto Misto presentation, to the delicate and precisely prepared fish that seemingly jumped from the sea onto the plate, Chef Shire's culinary artistry and creativity are on constant display. The ambiance, like the food, is like none other. It is lively, at times loud, and upscale casual with just a hint of fun and funk thrown in for good measure. FInding your way to Scampo is a great way to treat yourself or someone you love to a magnificent memory.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTop notchAs always, Scampo was excellent. The food, the wine, everything is top notch. The burrata in particular was oustanding! Our only complaint was that our waiter was not overly attentive and as he served our main course and took away our empty wine bottle, he didn't come back to offer us another and even ignored us several times when we tried to wave him over. When he did return we asked for a specific bottle and he sent the sommelier Nathaniel over who was excellent. He definitely redeemed the service for us, provided excellent recommendations, even wrote the ones we didn't try down for us and refired our food which was cold by the time we finally got our wine. Would highly recommend Scampo to anyone. Thanks Nathaniel!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMStill great! Even thoughStill great! Even though it is pricey, you can order pasta and a salad and it can be quite affordable. Delicious food with great attention to detail in a trendy, upscale atmosphere.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband & I went for lunch. My husband & I went for lunch. REgular menu looked fantastic. Everything was creative and delicious. Service was attentive but did not rush us.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply the Best.... StillFantastic food, wonderful waitstaff, as always.
I am a regular, having lunch at Scampo frequenty since it opened (probably at least 50+x by now) plus buy gift certificates regularly and have had dinner many time. Had lunch there 2x in the last week or so; one time during Restaurant Week. Thank you for not dumbing down the menu, and thanks for offering a two course lunch. Not to worry, we compensated by 4/5 times each with adult beverages!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! Especially theGreat place! Especially the clam
And bacon pizza is divine! Strongly recommend! I'm a lady but almost finish the entire 10" pizza :-P3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery fine dinner, great serviceOur appetizer, two pasta dishes, and entree were excellent, with highly developed flavors and ingredients respectfully treated. Our chocolate trilogy dessert was not as impressive as the rest of the meal--its flavors and texture seemed muted by contrast--and when we mentioned this to Michael, our server, he brought us a different dessert on the house. This was the delectable banana tar. Kudos to Michael for his terrific service. The layout and atmosphere of the room were festive and good both for everyday and special occasions.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMService outstanding. WasService outstanding. Was informed about an entree special - John Dory with lobster custard, asparagus with fried sweet potato shavings and a beurre blanc. Sounded fabulous, only to order it and have the waiter come back to tell me they were all out of that special.
The spaghetti bolognase was good but a pale replacement.
We had to move our reservation back by an hour - the staff were very helpful.
A little noisy, but overall a wonderful experience3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! Very busy andGreat food! Very busy and loud.
I always come during my business trips with clients
Service is always good and helpful with big menu!
Expensive!3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great, as itThe food was great, as it had been on previous visits. It is still an eclectic and fun menu. Service was very attentive, but the Open Table curse was again in action: we were seated right next to a swinging service door.2/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely WONDERFUL! ThisAbsolutely WONDERFUL! This was our first time, but definitel NOT our last. The house-made mozzarella starter with fig jam was excellent. We shared a superb red snapper dish - just a lovely piece of fish. Also shared an excellent risotto. Portions were generous enough to share. Dessert (apple crisp) was very nice, but not up to the standard of previous courses. For one thing, it was not crispy at all. Tasted good, but reminded me of a dessert at a much more ordinary restaurant in Western Mass.
On the whole, though, GREAT.1/21/2013 12:00:00 AMYet another wonderful dinnerYet another wonderful dinner at Scampo. We just love everything about the meal. Had the brick chicken for the first time which was great. Excellent wine list.11/17/2012 12:00:00 AM
