A word from Scalini Fedeli
Scalini Fedeli ranked among New York's finest restaurants since its opening in early 2004, taking Italian cuisine to new heights. Rewarded with the highest overall ratings in the Zagat Survey, Scalini Fedeli has been granted one star by the Michelin guide in it's inaugural 2006 issue. The inviting decor features vaulted ceilings and European antiques and provides the perfect setting for chef Michael Cetrulo's delightful cuisine which offers the finest ingredients coupled with a confidence and grace that ensures your meal will be a memorable one. Menu highlights include soft egg yolk raviolo with ricotta and truffle butter and New York's finest venison chop in a port wine and balsamic vinegar sauce with toasted hazelnuts, sautéed spinach and roasted Mission figs. The 350-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy but also does justice to the best American wineries.Continued

  • "One the, if the best Italian restaurant in the city. Great food, great service. Beautiful, romantic, upscale."

  • "This is our favorite Italian in the city!! We ordered the pork chop and the short ribs and both were perfect."

  • "We enjoyed our evening. The food was good but not fabulous or innovative. A Zagat 27 seemed too generous."

  • "If you are looking for a special dinning experience on a special occasion this is the place."

  • "Customers can get good food and decent customer service almost anywhere. What sets a restaurant apart is the degree to which you are willing to go above and beyond to be exceptional. Here the service was fine but for sure you do not feel special. You can find a great wine list, but being an italian from Italy, this is not great italian cuisine. It is also very noisy."

  • "Outstanding food. Exceptional service. As our waiter said when I thanked him, "We want to make you happy. " How refreshing is that? An amuse buse at the beginning. A mushroom risotto compliments of the chef with our first course. A marscapone gelato compliments of the chef. A little chocolate biscotti and a raspberry treat with out desserts."

  • "Scalini Fedeli is one of those rare finds that always delivers an exceptional gastronomical experience. The food and service are outstanding. This was our third time there, and every time is excellent. For our entries I had the duck - A large portion of tender flavorful duck in a very nice sauce. My wife had cod in a bed of vegetables - outstanding. Our waiter was perfect, attentive, helpful, funny, classy, but never intrusive. The maitre d' is wonderful. He gave us a very romantic corner table that we absolutely loved The room was perfect. The candles and roses on the table are charming. A perfect evening. We can’t wait to go back! if you have only one restaurant you can go to make it Scalini Fedeli"

  • "Attentive service, impressive wine list, and great food make this a very enjoyable experience. We spent our wedding anniversary there on Saturday night and thouroughly enjoyed it. It's a prix fixed menu with 3 courses for $70. With wine we spent $200 per person, but for a special occasion it was worth it."

  • "I reserved a table of 6 for my Dad's 80th birthday dinner through OpenTable. I sent them a note asking for a nice table for the occasion and a candle in his dessert--they did both without a reminder on the day of the event! Everyone loved the food and it was the best dinner during my parents' visit. I loved my tagliatelle with game sauce (venison & scottish hare). For the reservation, however, the restaurant should ask for their large-table CC requirement through OpenTable and not with a follow-up email exchange; it turned out to be a hassle with phone calls, PDFs and lack of confirmation. Overall, however, everyone thought the prix-fixe was a great deal. I highly recommend it! Thanks for a very delicious meal, Scalini Fedeli!"

  • "We have been to the Scalini Fedeli in New Jersey in the past and wanted to try the NYC location. The ambience and the vibe of the restaurant makes it feel special from the moment you walk in. There is a nice sitting area to have a drink if you have to wait for a table (no bar to speak of). The fixed menu gives you many choices, most of which are outstanding. Although people raved about the black ink papparadelle, my husband wasn't crazy about it, but he did like my veal which I didn't find flavorful. Everything else was out of this world. Although it was $70.-- pp, our bill was $250.- before tax (we had an extra appetizer and one glass of wine each). All in all, a beautiful night for no special occasion. Would highly recommend."

  • "Dinner was excellent. However with wine and coffee the meal does become quite expensive. $ 100 -125 per person"

  • "Scalini has a prix fixe menu for a base price of $70 for 3 courses, and given the quality of the offerings, the price is extremely reasonable. They brought an amuse bouche at the beginning (ravioli with mushrooms and truffles) and offered a delicious risotto (free) with our primi piatti course. We've been there a few times and everything we've ever ordered has been wonderful. If you're a fan of sweetbreads, they do a superb rendition."

  • "Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary....all very special, ambiance, service, food...special place..I had the hamachi as an appetizer followed by the veal chop...delish. Hubby had the seafood appetizer and the lamchops...extraordinary."

  • "It was our first time there. We went following a friends' advice and invited a niece and her boyfriend. We dined delicious food, good wine, very well serviced and we could talk easily. The decoration is also nice. An experience to repeat in our next visit to NY."

  • "We have been many times, this time we asked for a tasting menu which was great, portions may have been a little too large but flavors were spot on!!"

  • "Great place for romantic dinner. However, be prepared to sit right next to another table where conversations could could be heard easily. Very romantic atmosphere. Food was "out of this world" good, as should be expected from this former 1 Michelin Star restaurant. Menu is Prix Fixe but with many choices."

  • "Scalini continues to be one of the best restaurants New York has to offer - certainly the best Italian. Amazing pastas and just about everything else. Service was excellent and if you love wine there is lots to chose from. These people know how to make a customer happy. We have every intention of dinning at Scalini again. !!"

  • "Food was excellent, staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was very knowledgable and guided us in the right way, all while being very attentive and prompt. While the restaurant was perfect in ambiance for our romantic date, the service just added much more to make the event just perfect. Compliments on the mushroom risotto and short ribs, we loved everything else we had as well including the salmon over crab with spinach."

  • "My wife and I were at Scalini last week with two of our friends and had a wonderful experience. The place is marvelous, with deep vaulted ceiling and an impressive view of the Freedom Tower. Our waiter was charming and knowledgeable about menu items and wine. I loved the pappardelle with game sauce special and the ribs my wife had were to die for. We had a dark chocolate fest. We all ordered the dark chocolate souffle and the tort. The best dark chocolate I have had in years. Our server paired our desserts with ports and brandies as we requested. Definitely one of the best restaurants in New York City!"

  • "Took my wife for Valentines Day which turned out to be more of a New Year's Eve party than a romantic night out. It was a pre fixe menu with forgettable appetizers and salad but the entrees were very good. We had the short ribs and Arctic char. I would not go back as it is pricey and too many other great restaurants in NY to try this one again but I would recommend going on a regular night. The space and service was great and with the regular menu I am sure it is a wonderful experience."

  • "Went here for Valentine's and left a little disappointed. I had high expectations for the menu since the prix fixe charge was $125, around twice the normal price. The menu for the evening was missing some of the favorites I had read about - no egg yolk raviolo or veal chop to be found. The wine list is very extensive but also quite pricey. The service was solid but unspectacular. After an amuse, they brought out the third course which left us wondering: what happened to the second? I mentioned it to the staff and they remedied it. The restaurant is beautiful and I didn't notice the noise problems some reviewers have mentioned. The food was very good but not amazing. It was an enjoyable experience and if not for the price it would be a 5."

  • "Great Italian spot in the neighborhoody part of Tribeca. Nearly on the corner of Hudson and Duane, you have the park across the street, and inside you'll find beautiful arched ceilings, dimly lit corner tables and boisterous conversations befitting pleased diners of the well-heeled sort. Delicious three course menus that will leave you excited for the next dish, and very full when you leave. Its classic, updated Italian. If you are looking for a more adventurous meal, this might not be your place, but everything was very well done and the service was fantastic."

  • "From the minute your seated in the elegant room with beautiful lighting and architectural ceiling, one would hope that the food would stand up to the ambience they have created. No doubt about that at all. We were first seated at a table for 4, ordered wine and cocktails, and the maître d was sensitive enough to come over and mention that a large party of 14 was going to sit next to us and asked if we'd like to move to a better location. Thoughtful and caring ....and hats off to a great call ! Each dish was carefully executed and all 4 of us foodies were delighted by every dish. The only hitch was actually our waiter who never had the decency to even say "thanks" for a 25% tip or have any knowledge about anything on the menu."

  • "We dine here for all our special occasions, great menu with a lot of selections, vaulted ceilings make you feel like your dining in Italy or France!!!"
    Dined on 2/5/2014
  • "While scalini Fedeli strives to be a high end old school Italian restaurant the food is subpar. Heavy sauces and sugars are used to compensate for the lack of fresh ingredients. If you want and old school Italian type restaurant in Tribeca go to il giglio, if you want good pasta go to marc forgiene or capri cafee. Bad oudated very overpriced food"

  • "This is a perfect romantic place for a date. The staff is attentive and very knowledgable about both the preperation of the food and the wine (including our busboy). They have mastered the fine art of adding that special ingredient(s) to each dish that takes it to a whole new level. Considering how ridiculously incredible the food is, as well as the obvious attention to every minuet detail, it is not as expensive as other restaurants serving at this level."

  • "This was my second visit to the Restaurant. I was very impressed with the food and service at the first visit, but was let down this time. I was surprised to find I was handed a soiled menu, particularly at the prices charged. Except for a very nice Asian server, the service was unimpressive. I felt the servers had a train to catch. In fact one busboy flew out ahead of us. The food is still excellent but I was let down by the entire experience. For this money, i will make other choices."

  • "It was my first time dining here and I had a group of 8! I must say the staff and service was amazing. The restaurant is beautiful and the acoustics are good. We sat at a nice large round table and were able to hat with each other easily. The food was incredible and beautifully prepared. The prix fixe concept works perfectly and the choices are endless. This will be in my regular rotation when I come to NYC. Cannot wait until my next visit!"
